Major plant problem over night.

I think a cat might have gotten into them but im not sure. Herese some before and after pics. The before were taken last night before bed. The after were here when i woke up in the morning.

Are they going to recover and what can i do to help them recover?

kill the cat. Give it a crutch.

i should tie it up? Give it some support to stay up?

Not only should you, you must. Those plants are stretching for the light and can't support their own weight. Since the weight is two small leaves they are really in trouble. What is your setup. Maybe we can help if we know what else is going on. VV
PS, when cats play with your plants they rip them out of the soil.

400 watt MH right now for vegging. home made co2, an osciallating fan to keep the air moving and to help keep a good concentration of co2 around the plants. Walls are lined with mylar. The stretch ahppened when they first came through the soil. I had 2 4 ft tube fluro's on them and they really stretched. I had it like 2 inches from the top of the pots but they still stretched like crazy. Now since ive switched to the MH they have clamed down a bit.

Im going to tie them up now. I have some bamboo posts that ill cut down and use. Would a zip tie be a good solution for tieing the plant to the stake?

Im still pretty sure that it was a cat that got into them. It looks like the leaves were eaten on the 1 that is really laying down

Ive staked all the plants down. I had 2 others that still looked good but a little stretched. I also moved the plants about a foot closer to the light and they are now about 1 1/2 ft away from the light. I did the hand test and its just about right. Not too hot not too cold. I was planning to repot and put the stretched part of the stems down in the dirt. I want to help stop the stretching though. So moving close shoudl help with that.

Top heavy, like the one guy said up there. I do it all the time cause i'm lazy. I always end up repotting them and burying the stem a little deeper.

so i should be alright with tying them to stakes and just getting them a little closer to the light, and then also when i repot just put them down deeper into the soil?

I've never tried the stake approach, looks too much like plant bondage. Now if it was because the buds were so big that the plant is falling over...that's sexy. I would take the ones you have and plant it a little deeper. You don't have to kill your cat....just yet.

So i should just replant them. Should i move to a bigger pot since im gonna repot or should i jsut stick with the same size?

You know, when I typed the last one I put something in there about that, but I second guessed myself. That plant is small and the roots are far from being even close to root bound. I've only grown in soil a couple of times, and every time I did it my plant was alot bigger than that before it graduated to the next size. IMO, I'd probably use the same size pot, the only trouble you might run into is since the stretch is so long the bottom of the roots will be curled at the bottom. I would wait for a more experienced answer on this one. I'd probably use slightly bigger just for that reason.

Yeah. Since they are already stressed now too with toppling over i almsot think it wouldbe better to move bigger so then i wont have to stress them again for awhile. But i want to get a better answer before i do anything.

Also check for gnats larvae that may be eating the roots

What would i be looking for to see if the roots are being eaten? I dont see anythign crawling around in the soil or on the plants.

Little flies in your grow area and when you water check the bottom and the top of your soil with a magnifying glass if you see any little white worm things stab em with a pin lol

yeah i dont have any flies right now and im not seeing any little worms at all. So hopefully thats not the problem. The 2 plants taht got destroyed last night are starting to turn around a bit here now it looks like. Seems like they are standing on their own a bit better now. Im leaving them tied up until i transplant.

If you have no flys and no larvae then its definitely that they just need to be planted down like the others advised you earlier,they should perk up pretty quick
