So after reading about all these moth scares i have been checking my girls everyday since they are about 3 weeks from harvest. Today WAR has been declared on my 2 monsters. I found what appears to be meally worms. So i think, looks just like a meel worm but more caterpillar like. They have bored into about 6-8 stems right beneath some of my best colas. It almost looks like a pile of crap but when scraped off you can see their tunnel into my girls stalk. So after i cut off those areas i proceeded to squeeze the area and out pops one of these fuckers. I dont know if they lay eggs inside or if its just shit? Anyone know the answer? MOTHER FUCKERS!!!!! DIEEE!!!!!!!! Anyone else have these problems? I bought Schultz insecticidal soap insect killer and applied. It says it is good on edibles up to the day before harvest. Here are some pics of the fuckers. I had chopped all effected areas and soaked my girls. Only one has been effected so far. Mealybugs 8, Me 1.:fire:

check this,

budworms are resistant to most garden insecticides. In addition, using them may kill beneficial insects such as wasps, bigeye bug, damsel bugs, minute pirate bugs, and spiders. If you use an insecticide, look for one with synthetic pyrethrins also known as pyrethoid insecticides. The insecticide known as Bt may be effective on some plants. However, the insect must eat the Bt in order for it to be effective. If the worms have drilled into the bud, they are not eating the Bt. Keep weeds in check by pulling, since the weeds can also be hosts for the budworm.
Another possible remedy for getting rid of budworms would be to rototill your planting areas. Working the soil in the fall is preferable, but spring tilling may crush some of the budworm pupa.
In the fall remember to throw away the soil from potted plants and replace with new potting mixture if you are over wintering plants. Be mindful that any flowers and buds you put in your compost pile may have budworms that will over winter to continue your problem next year. And hope for a very cold winter! :wall:

You got to soak the buds...put a whole gallon sprayer into one plant focusing on the buds at the top and work your way down!!! It works!

you need to spray Bt. stupid caterpillars.

Well next year i'll be sure to get those bastards early. The local green thumb showed me a book of TONS of garden bugs and pests. Aparently these "worms" are from a fly. Not a house fly but this weird red giant mosquito resembling thing. They lay eggs around july and when they hatch they bore right into whatever it is their attached to and procceed to eat there way up. You can tell by the little pile of shit they seal their entry with and the stalks also get fatter and lumpy where they went in. So, he told me he justs slices the stalk the long way an gently removes them. Cause the BT only kills them when they injest in on the outside of the plant. So yesterday i cut about 7 or 8 of these suckers out and today it seems the stalks are already starting to heal up. Good thing they didnt start at the base of my girls.
