I been using Wal-mart hydrogen peroxide in my hydroponic set up. I've read some things on how I should or shouldn't use it. Mainly the argument is over the stabilizer used in OTC peroxide.
So I went to my local beauty supply store and noticed they have H2O2 in increments of 10 20 30 40% hydrogen peroxide. The cheaper stuff listed stabilizers in their ingredients. But the more expensive stuff (Clairoxide around 5$ US for 16oz) listed none and only listed water and "hydrogen peroxide MSDS #4" as the only ingredients.
So I picked up a 16oz bottle of "Clairoxide 40" which basically 40% hydrogen peroxide. It says on the bottle thats it's a "stabilized formula" but as stated before, it doesn't list any.
So I ask: Is it better to make my own 3% solution out of this 40% Clairoxide solution compared to just using the generic 3% OTC solution? What is the formula to make 3% solution out of 40% for one gallon of water? All other formulas are for 35%. How much 3% are you suppose to use in a 5 gallon reservoir?
