Rockwool cube substitute??

I dont have a hydro store near me and dont want to wait for shipping I got the lava rocks pretty easy to find but what can use to replace the rockwool cubes that is also easy to find like in my local walmart?? this is for a buble system

At this time of year your choices may be limited. I think all of the appropriate choices for going in a bubbler are going to be coming from a hydro shop. Otherwise you would be risking the material washing into your tanks and clogging the system. Just my opinion, if you can get slappy boy to weigh in it would be nice. VV

would that floral foam work? you know the green cubes they use for floral aranging? i see that at my local dollar store

That is a good question. I think it might be too close of cells to work, it is an idea worth trying. VV

thanks for the ideas guys but I took the drive to the hydro store it was well worth it once I got there the guy gave me a 10lb bag of hydrotron no charge (i think he was high lol)
