Announcing the first ever Bubblehead contest!

In 100 words or less (pictures if you got them but not weighted in our decision), what have you learned about growing with Bubbles since you joined RIU and the BubbleHead Gang.

Please include what mistakes you made while learning to grow with bubbles. The goal here is to review your past mistakes and share your stories of the glorious resurrection with the group to show the rest that no matter how bad you think it is, it ain't that bad! Doesn't have to be a finished grow either. We all have our troubles within each grow as we learn.

Saying talked to Roseman, Purp or MC not allowed. We are not eligible as the judges for this contest. We want specifically what you did and what you learned as a result.

You've got to display the BubbleHead Logo to enter, on the BubbleHead Gang Thread OR this BUBBLEHEAD CONTEST THREAD?

All entries must be entered by 12 midnite your local time this Friday 9/11 (aka my birthday).

The winner will receive a $50 gift certificate from SH thanks to Roseman!

Let the games begin!

Bubbles equal rapid growth by delivering oxygen to the roots! Coming from a mary jane smoker to grower was so simple when i thought is was so hard.
I used to think growing would take mass amounts of money until i was doing some research on hydroponics and found this web site Stealth Hydro.I couldn't believe it so i searched the web and found RIU. Still thinking this is to good to be true i searched for people using the system for pics and info. Then came across a gang called the bubbleheads with this endless amount of info. After a few days of reading i was convinced i could do this and ordered the Stealth Hydro System. While i was waiting for they system all i was doing is reading non stop. Two weeks later i start my grow and can spot problems with ease thanks to RIU. Where i am now amazes me more than everything. The point is Bubbles make it possible and easy for anyone to grow and share in the experence of growing your own plants. Roseman said it
best, "Growing weed to a man is like a woman expecting a child." Gods work for sure. An as for RIU, its a one stop shop of information for any level of grower and any type of system.
Now because of this fun and excitement i have had from my grow and this site i have decided to try it professionally. This Spring i will be enrolling in Med Grow Cannabis College, Knowledge for the Medical Cannabis Industry in Michigan and begin a career in growing. Thanks everyone for reading and best of luck to all the other contestants.

Sorry guys i really didnt have any problems (knock on wood). The only thing i really did was move my grow to my basement because of high temps in the shed.bongsmilie

First of all I want to thank Mostly and Rose for all the help that you have given me I this new adventure to become a bubblehead.

What I have here is some bad seed that I have been growing for about a year not. I know what everyone is thinking bagseed wtf, it was 60 an 1/8 and i was very lucky to find a seed in the bag.

This system that you are seeing in the picture started off as an attempt to grow my first hydro grow. It started off as a drip system that over time turned into a bubbleponic system.

Using Fox Farm nutes I found out very fast that the BIG BLOOM has a problem with settling at the bottom of the tank. After hours with a bakers whisk. I was told to add a small submersible pump, 60gph, to keep the bottom of the tank moving. Worked perfectly.

This is what i have after 3 weeks of flowering underneath a 400 watt high pressure sodium.

My story isn’t about resurrection; it’s about reengineering and rebirth. I built a DWC system with ice chests, but thick lids prevented raising the water level to the bottom of the pots. So I had to hand-water until roots hit the water. Two missed waterings later I had this:

I went to RIU for a solution and found Bubbleponics.

One manifold later:

A foolproof watering method:

Result: explosive growth. Left plants are 3 weeks from seed and topped, replacement seedling is two weeks old.

Roots four days ago:

Roots today:

And no more dried-up seedlings.

My family says I could kill a "silk plant". I even received a plant in a coffin once for my birthday - to bury it in when I killed it. I killed everything. I got my bubbleponics system, and thought It was the same.

Problem.............................. Solution

Too high Ph ........................ liquid Ph down
High temps......................... ice bottles, more fans
Stem rot ............................. hygrozyme
Root rot,............................. organacide, H2O2
Algae ................................. hygrozyme & covered the netpots
Wrong nutes, wrong lights......just stupidity

... but thanks to RIU and the bubbles, even the blackest thumb managed to get a plant to live and produce buds!!!

I guess the biggest thing that i've learnt so far is too not over think anything. For instance if my ph fluctuates a little, trying to keep it at one consistant number isn't going to happen. As long as it's in an acceptable range then I don't sweat it....I've applied this concept to my nutrients as well.

At the start of my first grow I also had many issues with heat...I was keeping my 400w hps way too close to the plants and I didn't have enough air flow in my room...I now have a total of 5 fans constantly circulating air throughout my room and the plants love me for it

Any real grower knows Stealth hydroponics is a total waste of money for all the complete garbage that's included. The idea is a good one and quit novel. I just think the Pump was too weak the plumping leaks and has very little lifespan, I wouldn't even use the included nutes to water house plants. And the cfls(made by Lonestar) were complete crap the first ones i received didnt even work, when i got ones that did they burnt out in like 3 weeks lol..Im not trying to be a spoil sport im just saying the whole system can be made (with better gear) for a fraction of the price. the basic unit costs $99...for a $8 rubber tote,1 $25 air pump(w/ line and air stone) and 1 $20 water pump 6 net pots at about 80cents a piece.(about $5.80) rockwool and hydrotone that they bought in bulk so both these items only run them about $8. lets do the math 8$+25$+20$+5.80$+8$=$66.80 come on roseman thats a RIPP OFF!
