Preparing rockwool

Hey guys I have been trying to get some clones going in some rock wool for a little bit now with little to no success. I went into the Local hydro shop and got some advice... Stability was a big point he made. Make sure the clones are going into a stable enviroment i.e. Preparing the rock wool in P.h. 5.5 water with 1/4 strength BLOOM solution for root growth, and leaving them soak overnight if not 24 hours In the mothers room. also misting every 2 - 3 days with light dose of superthrive for greenery. Armed with these tips and others I hope I am on the road to success...

Cheers kwaka

P.s. Healthy Cuttings make healthy clones.

misting surprises you?... he made it clear you want damp NOT moist a light fog on the edges and not massive drips. This bloke is a good person and isnt out to sell me the world unless i need it or could be better off with it. what are these rapid rooters you speak of, he didnt say anything about that, only growdan rockwool has the best success rate amongst noobs as the moisture stays within the cube due to the plastic.

Do not pick rockwools over rapid roots... telling you from experience :)

Plants living after using rockwools is 50/50

That's not been my experience. I start all my cuttings and seeds in rockwool cubes, and I usually get 100% or very close to that in terms of success. It's not just me, every grow shop in the world sells rockwool If it didn't work, somebody would have noticed by now.

yeah i get 100% success in rw,

my tips for cloning success

don't take too big a cutting, keeping a 1" cutting with 3 leaves is a whole lot easier than getting a 5" cutting with 20 leaves

make a 45 deg angle cut at the bottom of the cutting so you have more area for roots to come from, scrape back some of the green skin from the lower part to leave a decent area to root from,

pre soak rw in 5.5 only no nutes

keep them in a dome and keep the cubes moist not damp, don't use a heated prop mist twice daily and use 18 hr lighting.
