First Time Grow - Pineapple Kush

Hey guys, this is my first time growing really anything so any help/tips are much appreciated. Im still building my Sterilite plastic bin grow box, but I will post pictures of it this weekend when it is finished.

Hoping to finish my build today and tomorrow cause my sh*t is a train wreck.

Here are a few close ups of my Pineapple Kush babies 6 days old (including 36 hours of germination) in a 70/30 ratio of soil to perlite under five 23 watt 6500K CFL's (I used a local organic soil… cause f*ck the home dePOT that’s why haha… nahh but for real home dePOT didn’t have their spring gardening section stocked yet):


I decided to go with the two cup technique (use a clear cup and a normal plastic party cup (thanks DocJ and DaWill for the suggestions)) so I could see how damp the soil is while still protecting the roots from the light. I still may have overwatered them a little bit. I know I know, rookie move.

I'm a big kush fan so I will be expecting updates. This is a strain I have had my eye's on for a while.

Looks like a alright setup ,You'll do fine just watch the Ph of the water your giving your new seedlings/sprouts.I have 6 purple haze seedlings planted and I have 6 2 month old girls going already,

I have access to some lab equipment and pH'd a few gallons of water. I have some purple haze and kandy kush seeds that I want to start after this. I just have a lot more pineapple kush seeds and thought I would just plant those incase I fucked them up and needed to retry...

Day 8:
Watered my plants heavily for the third day (I lightly watered/misted when humidity was below 45%). The plants are looking good. The first internode is starting to form at the top. I zoomed in on one of the pictures so you can see the new leaves forming:




Whats up with the malware warning lately? I just got it today but Im running a live linux disk right now to update this shit... Can I go back to using my mac?

I just read Jwilsn grow journal and based on the information there Im going to switch tonight to a 18/6 light schedule. They have been getting 24 hours of light since I transferred the germinated sprouts.

Going to the store today to buy the rest of the paint to work on my box a little bit tonight. Once painted, all I have left to do is hang the lights. Fuck yeah.

Looks like our plants are around the same grow schedule. Hopefully yours will bounce back solid and we can help each other out. Im trying to figure out how to PM your ass. Never really used a forum before (read but not really joined one or posted shit...)

End of day 11:
Just a quick update. Almost finished my box. Got all the wiring rigged up. Just needs one more coat of paint.

A lot of growth has taken place the past few days. When should I transplant? Also, Im thinkin about just transplanting to a 10 inch pot or whatever everyone recommends. Keep in mind im growing in 2 plastic Sterilite containers stacked up... so they cant get too big.

Another question, I planted 7 seeds and they are all lookin healthy. Is it better to grow many smaller plants or a few bigger plants in the plastic tote grow boxes?
Any input would be much appreciated on this.

Here are some quick pictures I took. School is kinda fucking me this week. The second set of leaves are getting big. A couple more leaves a starting to poke out under those too.
