Learning to get the rotation right with my new light :)

I have a Blue Mytic perp grow, previously all CFL, but bought myself a 250w HPS a few weeks back, and now have to get used to a whole new feeding routine, and am trying for a more regular harvest with slightly smaller plants.

I have one veg cupboard, with two levels and various 6500k and 2700k CFL's. I don't bother with a mother, rather just take a few clones from each 2 plants before flipping.

I have a second cupboard with a 125w 2700k CFL, and 3 x 30w 6500k CFL's. Once the vegging plants are put into their 10 litre containers, they go into here on 16/8 for a week or so to veg up and establish new roots, they flipped to 12/12 in here for the first couple of weeks of flowering.

Then the Tent with the 250 HPs Dual Spectrum and digi ballast, and 4 x 2700k bulbs, totalling 115w, this is where the plants will live for the last few weeks of their flower.

I'm hoping to get 2 plants every 3 and half weeks, but will have to wait and see.

Oh yes, because I have previously been really tight with my weed due to low CFL yields and high demand by me :) I will be throwing a Strawberry Cough into the Tent to give away as xmas presents. I have a seasonal job as Santa at the local shopping centre....lol just to clarify, that's a joke, it will be reserved only for my nearest and dearest :)

The Veg Room:

Top half has 1 Blu Myst that went into soil about 5 days ago, and the orange pot is the Strawberry cough. I touched the leaves with something on my hand, and it all went horribly wrong. I threw one away, topped this and took the worst affect leaves off, and now it's slowly coming back to life.

There are 3 Blue Mys clones in the prop behind them, one has just got a good amount of root, and will go into soil tomorrow.

The lower compartment has 2 Blu Mys clones, that went into soil 4 days ago. Don't worry, there is more blue light down there then the pic shows :)

Oh and I have just started feeding them today, didn't want to burn the young roots, so don't worry that they are a bit pale

The Pre-Flower Room:

These 2 vegged for about 3 or 4 weeks I think (currently about 10" with 7 or 8 nodes), and were topped about 2 weeks ago. Also last week, I topped some of the lower branches. It's the first time that i have tried this. They went into those 10 litre buckets, from 6.5 litre pots, yesterday, and will be flipped in about 7 days.

The HPS Flower Tent:

The 2 ladies in here were vegged for ages, topped, and then LST'd. They were flipped just under 4 weeks ago. One is really healthy looking with massive amount of budding already. This one has spent most of it's flower in the pre-flower CFL room, by itself, and flourished. The other one was in the HPS tent with it's 2 aunts, looks like shit, had a load of problems but that's another story altogether.

I will update with better pics in a day or so when I next get them all out for watering.

Here are the 2 in the pre-flower room, on 15 hours light (to minimise sleep disruption to my wife and keep growing longer). They were repotted 3 days ago and already started to size up nicely. Like all my plants they are in slight def at the moment, but just starting to up feed slowly and everything seems to be getting a nice darker green.

Probably flip in 7 days, and this will be a bit behind my intended rotation schedule, but I want to give them time to catch up on Nitrogen and produce a couple of nice clone stems :) .. saves needing space for a mother

The 2 Ladies in mid flower (week 3/4). It just amazes me at how much better the one that I grew under CFL's is, I know the other one had problems, but just goes to show whacking a bigger light above a plant doesn't always mean more...knowing what you are doing does (I seriously under fed and poorly positioned the worse looking plant under a HPS)

The first 3 pics are of the CFL started plant, the second 2 of the HPS one

Just for fun, here are 2 ladies that were vegged under CFL to about 6" tall, then put out into my conservatory to act as greenhouse. They are just starting to get some nice budding started since the sun came out a few days ago, probably because I have been home a lot and able to move them round the room in my house to get the direct sunlight in the morning.

OK, its been a week now, so thought I'd do some updates.

Firstly my two level veg cupboard has recieved a new 8000 lumens CFL, as well as 5 Aurora INdica Seeds from Nirvana in pellets. So that's 3 strains I have on the go now.

The top level of the cupboard has 5 Blue Mystic ladies all about 4" tall with plenty of branches already, and the lower level has another 4" Blue Mystic, a small Strawberry cough plant, which isn't doing much growing to be honest. I think my plants have a slight Cal/Mag def, and I will sort this with tomorrows watering.

Next, the pre-flower room:

This has 2 M.I.L.F Blu Myst, that were flipped yesterday, they vegged for a good few weeks and have grown nicely since re-potting last week, and have already made light work of getting roots round their bigger homes.

Just Given slight epsom salt water today, again Cal/mag def...I think that its a combination of long vegging and Light fed soil

Finally the HPS flower room:

Really not worth showing this, huge cal/mag def's, and spider mites has mullered these ladies, but they only have to survive another 2 or 3 weeks, and then the 2 ladies from my last post, as well as the Strawberry cough will be going in

Here we are a week later, so I thought i would update, but gonna keep it short.

Spider mite issues - seem sorted
Cal/mag def - sorted
All plants going good, except for the 2 that are due for harvest, but they were never going to end well

The 1st 3 pics are of my vegging plants, 4 blue mystic, and one topped Strawberry cough, which was on deaths door as a seedling a couple of weeks back, and has just been repoted.

The second 2 pics are of my nasty ass plants, that have had huge issues, but tought me a lot...I hope. They are at week 6 of flower, and I think that I'll give them a flush after the weekend, and then harvest a week later. I have nothing to smoke at the mo, so pulling them early will save me money, and give the next healthier 2 more light under the 250 HPS.

The final few are of the 2 blue mystics that are a week into flower, they had a flush yesterday cos I was worried about lock out, and then a BioGrow feed today, so I'm hoping to lose the lime green tops.

OK, a long overdue update.

The 2 closest to harvest were a complete let down, smoked OK, but tiny yield.

The 2 Blue mystic that were just flipped are now 2-3 weeks from harvest, and look like this:

They have been grown under half of a 250 HPS and hoping to get 21g each at worst.

And now 5 Aurora Indica plants. These pics were taken a week after repotting, from tiny 2" seedlings to these in 7 days under CFL's

They appear to have more of the sativa strain in them, but i'm not complaining, the best growing strain i've found so far.

These along with the 3 blu mystic were repotted into 7.5 and 10.5l air pots, and will veg for another 4 days untill my new tent and 400w HPs turns up for them next week :) I'll throw some more pics in soon

Here they all are in their new pots, transplanted yesterday, 4 days to get the roots started into the new soil, then flipping them. They have all only gone up about 30% in container size as I believe they only really continue to root for the first few weeks of flower. Think they will double in size from experience :)

A week after being flipped, and placed under the 400, and the plants have done really well. The Aurora have gone through a height growth spurt, and one of them has lower stems reaching up to the top canopy, the others all have healthy reaching lower stems too. First time i've grown this strain, and loving it's traits.

The blue mystic on the other hand, didn't grow a huge amount, but already have budd sites.
