SilusBotwin's Medical Tent Redux -Twice the experience, Twice the power

I've decided to start a new journal (this time in the correct section) since I harvested the seeds I started in the old one. I'm now running all from clone and I have 2000 watts instead of 1000. I also ditched the cooltube and it's batwing hood's small footprint in favor of a couple of really big air cooled behemoths. I upgraded my electric circuit to 240 volt and now have my ballasts running @ 4.5 amps as well as hard wired to a quality wall mounted timer.

This go round I have 3 White Widow's, 1 Pineapple Express, and 1 Jack Herer that went to flower about a week ago and a mini S.A.G.E. tree that has about 3 weeks left out of 11 and a Dinafem Diesel mini tree that has about 2 weeks left. The WW, PE, and JH were all vegged for 30 days in soil with minor LST technique. I also have 3 teenagers that are Grand Daddy Purple, Jacky White and Headband that need to be cloned tonight after I transplant the last few of my rooted rockwool cube clones. They look like crap in the photos because they were neglected at the place I adopted them from. I will probably take clones and flower the main cola's out. They are ridiculously stretched.

I run a mixture of Ocean Forest, Pro Mix, and Perlite and I feed with the Fox Farms trio, H2O2 and a CalMag+ supplement by Botanicare. I have lots of other good stuff to use if needed.

I can't think of any more important details for now. If you have any questions, feel free to post them :) On with the fun :bigjoint:

P.S. Link to old journal in my signature

More photos. I snapped a photo of my nute line up as well. Took some clones from the Grand Daddy Purple, Jacky White, and Headband. I would try out my aero cloner but I MUST get good clones off this plant or I will lose the genetics. I get 100% success using good ol fashioned rockwool in a propagation dome, while I've never used the aero cloner.
I'll be experimenting with it sometime next week.

Took some shots with the magnetic ballast turned off. Those lines annoy the hell out of me. Not very good quality photos but not too bad either. I'll try to take better shots tonight when the lights go out. These are just random photos I snapped a few minutes ago out of sheer boredom.

2 of them are on day 18 of flower, 3 are on day 9 of flower, and the little S.A.G.E. mini tree is somewhere around day 57 or so. Also some photos of some GDP, Jacky White and Headband clones in my trusted plastic tray/dome. Everybody always tells me how crappy their success rates are with rockwool but I am shooting 100% out of some 30 or so clones. I drained the water out of the prop tray after taking the photo and misted them so that puddle isn't there anymore. It's given me 100% success so I'm sticking with it.

Also took a few clones to try out in the 25 site Botanicare aerocloner. Don't really care if they fail. I got some good clones off the mothers before I gave them away.

Ran some insulated ductwork into another room that will eventually get connected to a window to exhaust this hot air outside. Temps have been getting pretty high, between 78-85 F since adding the second 1000 watt ballast/hood. I'm hoping once I get that air blowing directly outside, it will drop to 70-75.

Enough rambling, on to the photos.

Or just add CO2 and those temps would be great :)

As of yesterday, I secured 4 MMJ licenses for 2.5 ounces and 12 plants per license. I can legally carry up to 10 ounces :) I'm also a certified mmj patient as well now :D

in 20 days your paperwork is valid. as of right now your still illegal. Just a heads up bro.
I'm still legal plant count wise since I've had 2 patient's for quite some time. I lost touch with one of my original patients altogether. He just stopped answering the phone, stopped returning phone calls and everything. I plan on letting the state know, as well as him, that I will no longer be providing care for him. I'll wait 20 days of course until my personal certification and the new patient certifications kick in.

Got all 6 clones transplanted into some fivers.

Probably going to abandon the aero-cloner. I just don't feel like dealing with the water temperature right now.

Jacky White was the first of this rounds clones to pop a root. It took just 8 days. Hopefully when I wake up there will be roots exploding everywhere.

Goodnight

Small photo update. Snapped some shots a few minutes before the magnetic ballast fired up. Those bars across the photo induced by the mag ballast annoys me.

Roots, Roots everywhere....

Sorry for the blurry shots, I did my best with the resources available to me. Just random shots in my flowering tent. The little S.A.G.E. tree in there makes everything look nasty and yellow but all of the others are actually VERY green and healthy IRL.

And of course a macro of the first frost :)

Is it just me or does it look like the bottom left plant, in photo's 5, 6, and 7 could use a blast of N? I'm at 3/4 strength with Fox Farms.

I'd agree. Have u grown it b4? I've found some strains won't eat N to save their life...my blackwater is like this, and Northern Lights X Skunk to a degree.

I've ran it once so far, and am currently on like week 3 or so of my second run. Both runs, the White Widows just won't ever stay healthy in regards to Cal/Mag. Both runs, around the second week of flower, they begin developing little spots on them that look as if they were burned with a magnifying glass under a bright summer sun. I was always told that these spots are a manganese issue, and that CalMag+ from Botanicare would correct it. I've used CalMag+ throughout the course of this whole grow and still, they developed the spots. It can not be burn from water droplets on leaves, magnifying the light, because I don't use any sprays in my tent. My foliage always stays dry for the most part.

I'm not sure how generational grouping and things work but I would be very grateful if someone who is reading this could elaborate for me, how it works.

The first round of these 3 strains, I sprouted from seed. That generation (1st gen? F1? Not sure how that works) has already been harvested and distributed to my mmj patient's. Before the classy ladies went to flower, they so kindly allowed me to take cuttings from each of them. I took 3 cuts of White Widow. Of the 3 cuts there were two different phenotypes. One smelled like peanut butter............SORRY, I JUST REALIZED, I'M RAMBLING......Give me just a second......

...........bongsmilie ...........................................

Oh yes, the clones I took.. Ok, so aside from the White Widow, I also took a clone from the Pineapple Express and a clone from the Jack Herer, making a total of 5 clones. I then vegged them in some fivers for thirty days and put them into the flowering tent. Those are the plants you see in the photos.

Once again I took clones from them before they went into the flower tent. Those are the clones you see that were in solo cups but were transplanted to fivers throughout the course of this thread.

If you read this far, I would like you to know that I think you are a great person. Consider me your pal ;) haha

But seriously though, I hope the few of you who are interested in my grows and stay active in my threads, understand the magnitude of how thankful I am to have your knowledge, experience, and expertise holding my back. To you all, even though I don't know you, I think I love you.

............bongsmilie............................................

So what would each of these generations be called? Am I right in thinking they are first gen, second gen, 3rd gen, etc.?

Could you be kind enough to elaborate on how F1, F2 and all that works?

If ya don't feel like it, I can easily use google and figure it out for myself.

lol that post was win. Ok. So say you got a Northern Lights female and a male skunk... and you let them do the deed. The resulting seeds/plants are called F1. Now say you took those Northern Lights x Skunk seeds, grew out a bunch and then pollinated a girl with her brother (I know dirty right lol) then the resulting seeds are called F2s... repeat this process you get F3, F4, F5 and so on.

If you are just cloning, then genetically speaking, your clone is as old as it's parent. So in my case I'm on my 12 round of Pineapple Express, many diff mothers all same genetics, so they are all S1 still. For some reason S1 is what they use to designate feminized seed...and F1 for reg...seems backwards lol but that's the way it is.

and a helpful glossary, courtesy of Subcool...
Glossary

Calyx… The whorl of sepals of a flower collectively forms the outer floral envelope or layer of the perianth enclosing and supporting the developing bud; usually green.
Clone… An organism descended asexually from a single ancestor, such as a plant produced by layering or a polyp produced by budding.
Dominant… Of, relating to, or being an allele that produces the same phenotypic effect whether inherited with a homozygous or heterozygous allele.

F1… When you cross two different IBL strains for the FIRST time, it is called the F1 generation.

F2… When you cross two of the same F1 hybrid (inbreed), it is called the F2 generation.
Hemp… A coarse bushy annual with palmate leaves and clusters of small green flowers; yields tough fibers.
Hybrid… A strain made up of two genetically unlike parents, IBL or hybrid.

IBL… (Inbred line) is a genetically homogeneous strain that grows uniformly from seed. An IBL is homozygous, or true breeding for particular traits.

Off-spring… The progeny or descendants of a plant considered as a group.

Out-cross… A female crossed with a male with the soul intention of inbreeding the sibling line to the mother plant.

P1… original parental generation used to develop F1 hybrids or stabilized, true breeding strains.

Phenotype… The observable, qualifiable and quantifiable representation of a trait.

Pistil… The female, ovule-bearing organ of a flower, including the stigma, style, and ovary.

Pollen… The fine powder like material consisting of pollen grains that is produced by the anthers of seed plants.

Potency… The quality or state of being potent. strength/efficacy/effectiveness
Recessive… Tending to go backward or recede. Of or relating to a trait that is expressed only when the determining allele is present in the homozygous condition.
Resin… Trichomes come in three different types, Bulbous, Capitate-Sessile and Capitate-Stalked.

Stamens… The pollen-producing reproductive organ of a flower, usually consisting of a filament and an anther.

TGA... Team Green Avengers, The Green Avengers and The Green Avenger.

THC… Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol & delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol - THC mimics the action of anandamide, a neurotransmitter produced naturally in the body, which binds with the cannabinoid receptors in the brain to produce the ‘high’ associated with marijuana. THC possesses high UV-B (280-315 nm) absorption properties.

Trait… A genetically determined characteristic or condition: a recessive trait.

Trichomes… Cannabis resin glands.

Vegetation… The process of growth in plants, prior to producing flowers/blooms/fruits

Thanks for clarifying that SG. That is probably the most useful post anyone has ever submitted to one of my threads. I was just getting into learning about breeding and genetics and I know thats just the base knowledge of breeding.

Got these posted up in a couple spots. One on the door to the grow room and another on a wall in the grow room at eye level.

So I'm guessing my thread lost some posts since the site was hacked. There were about 3 - 5 more posts in here from me. Now it shows the last post as being from February. Oh well. I lost alot of photos that I don't have backed up. Kinda sucks but hey, what am I gonna do about it? Nothing!

SG, I remember you told me to click the thumbs next time I post so I can label everything. I can't find the thumbs man :( Not sure what you meant now.

EDIT: On second view, it looks like about 100 posts of mine are missing. :(
Use the insert picture icon above (3rd icon from the right to upload your pics). Then they show up in the thread vs just as attachments. Then, while still in editor mode, double click each pic, one at a time. It should bring up a window to let you edit size, name, and description.
