600 W Blueberry Medical Grow Journal

I have a 600 W lumatek with a digilux bulb. I am running custom soil mixed by a local friend that does consulting. It is coco based with several organic amendments. I will be using compost teas as well as General Organics Nutrients (the full line) but not the subculture inoculates. The light schedule is 18 on 6 off right now while the plants get used to the new soil after being transplanted last night. I put hydroton on the top of the soil to help reduce water evaporation and keep me from having to cultivate the soil so the water absorbs. I am debating on whether to use SM-90 as the wetting agent or getting some biodegradable hemp soap to help as well. I would welcome any advice on that. Please make sure to comment or ask questions as you want. I just got this room set up and having been in testing mode for about a week so it is nice to be up and running. I got the Blueberry clones from a local collective, not sure which variety the girls are but I have been told good things. I hope this helps reduce costs for my back pain meds. Blueberry for me is the ideal med. Helps reduce pain and makes me mentally more happy when dealing with back pain 24/7. This is a legal medical grow in my state so everything is good to go on that front.

In the pics below I tried to give you a good idea on my set up. I have the intake and exhaust charcoal filtered in hopes that this will lower my chances of having any issues with bugs/powdery mildew/etc. I think this set up is geared for success!

Stay Lifted and I will report back in a day or two! :leaf:

I hope the next cycle I will have some high cbd varieties like cannatonic or something of the like. I have even heard about a NYCD cutting that has 10% cbd. I have consumed some of the flowers before and it helped my back a bit so I would love to get some more of that around here. It would be great in an edible or tincture. Or what about high cbd hash! Seems like it would be very therapeutic for some ailments!

warmer temps today so had to turn down to the 300 W setting. probably best since these are new clones better not stress more than they have already endured. I noticed that one of the leaves on a plant seemed like it wasn't very happy. Might be too dry in the room. Its in between 22-34%. I have multiple gauges in there so it is a range. It could also be not used to the 400 W (I have it dimmed right now) since it was cloned under t5's. The bulb is about 18 inches from the plants.

Will there be any issues transplanting rockwool cubes into soil? I didn't really think twice about it when I did replant. The roots looked great though so that is a plus.

Stay Lifted!

thinking about using the worm castings that bought a few months ago in the compost tea. I think it may help to keep them healthy. Anyone know of any issues of worm tea in flower?

Well I noticed last night that I must have burned one of the larger fan leaves on one plant. I think I put the plants to far under the light after I sprayed with serenade when they first came home. Man does serenade stink. Other wise I think the plants are looking decent. I did put a little of the diamond black, bio-root, bio-thrive (grow), and silica on the plants. I went with half strength of the "low" dose for everything. pH was at 6.1 when I added it to the containers. There is some dolomite lime in my mix so I think it will help buffer it a bit. The runoff was at 6.98 so maybe it will even out a bit over the longer run. I want to aim for 6.50-6.80. I probably won't have to feed for the next few weeks and if I do it will be a really light dose again just to get them used to the nutrients for when I do need to begin feeding. I will probably feed with the bio-weed and marine next week at a light dose because they are good for new vegging/cloned plants.

Update Time: I got another of the same clone today. I picked 3 out of the 4 that had been brought in. I left the forth and it has been sitting there since so the owner of the collective just told me to take it. So I did. I now have 4 little ladies which I am very proud of. I think I can tell there is a little bit of new growth on the clones that have been here for a few days. Ok enjoy the eye candy.

Not sure why the one clone is a lot more pale than the others. I hope that it will recover without any major problems. got to give em a little time to get their roots established before I start worrying too much.

One thing I forgot to mention was that I had put a little oregonism xL in the last clone that was transplanted yesterday. Hopefully we will see some differing results. The soil mix I am using supposedly has a little in it already but I am not sure what kind. From what I have been reading I need a balance of bacteria and fungi to make my soil work the best.

I was thinking about flowering almost right away but now I am thinking of maybe waiting another week so these plants have a chance to get healthy. Got to watch them and see what they say. So that is the plan at the moment.

All is well in the garden except the humidity. It is really low 20-30% range. I might have to put my humidifier in there. What do ya'll think? Bring it up to 45% at least..

No suggestions on the humidity issue? My plants seemed fine when I was growing over in more of a desert climate...

here are a few more camera shots... the last four pics you can kind of see the numbers that I assigned them to. I will try to make it visible so you can keep track with me how they are doing.

Daily update: They are clearly growing. I will have to get some pics before lights out here in a little while to get the true color of the leaves. Are pics better when the hps is off for my fellow viewers of my journal? Temps have been better today. I am starting to keep the temp for lights off up higher than I have in the past. I want to keep it steady 77-80 all the time. I just can't get it much cooler than that during the day. I know cooler temps are preferred but not much I can do about it with these warm temps we are having. 60-65 during the day which is weird weather for here. Subcool says that steady temps is probably the best thing to prevent mold due to condensation that forms on the leaves with large temp changes which create conditions that mold would like. I really need to keep this NW mold away from my plants.

Enjoy and Stay Lifted!

Thinking I will start flower on Saturday or Sunday. I don't really want to wait too long to get this started. I think 10 days for the first 3 plants should be enough for them to have a good footing in the soil. They should take off here real soon. I have noticed some new growth and the leaves are greening up on the first three plants. I will need to trim some of the more damaged leaves off of a couple of the plants in the next day or so.

still haven't needed watering since transplanting. this medium holds water well so far. It was usually 3-4 days with ocean forest and some of the other brands.

Welcome 400aZip! Glad to have you along. Thanks for the kind words! Yeah I got lucky when I was talking to this mmj consultant and he mentioned he mixes his own coco based medium. I can tell they are getting more happy by the day. I guess the transition from hydro to soil is taking a bit to get used to by the plants.

I love blueberry what can I say!

Just sprayed them down with serenade again. I will likely be doing that once a week for the next 4 weeks.

Going to switch to 12/12 tomorrow. It is time! The plants seem to be doing pretty good this morning (their morning). I just don't want to spend a lot of time on this variety if it isn't a good blueberry pheno. I know I can get more of these clones in the future since it is being spread around with a few local collectives.

I started the flower photoperiod this morning. The plants are looking pretty good. I may have some light issues from my dehumidifer. they are green lights for the numbers on the display so it may not cause any issues. Any advice out there about this? It would really save me some time if it is something that will mess with the dark cycle.
