Narnia grow, Round 2!

Well, hello Rollitup members, welcome to our Medicinal indoor grow journal.

Feel free to pull up a spot, and hang with us as we watch our next round of girls flower into wonderful medicine.

Everything is the same as our last grow, Still using the same space, with the same amount of light. Currently most of our girls are about 18 inches tall (which was last round's harvest height) And we're projecting them to be about 24-30 inches tall at the end of the cycle.

We're also testing out a different set of nutrients, Hydroponix X-Nutrients. We've been pleased with the results thus far. After feeeding the smaller girls, we noticed about 2 inches of growth from our 3rd round Afghooey in a matter of about 3-4 days. And the good thing is that it's fairly cheap, about half the cost of the big name brands.

The dirt this time around is Dr Earth's Medicinal POTting Soil. It's not advertised on their site, but a lot of the smaller nurseries carry it (or, at least the hip ones do).

This time we have Afghooey, Matanuska Thunderfuck, Cali Orange, Orange Bud, Purple #1, New York City Diesel, and Brains Escape. We're running a few of the same strains again, but we're going to be dropping Cali Orange and one of the Afghooey's in the next round to let in some new genetics.

We're also modifying tomato cages to scrog a few plants. Should be an interesting method, and with the way we have to move everything in and out to water, it's the only way to make a scrog feasible . The first picture in this post has examples of it, but we basically took off the top ring and the wires leading up so we could tie some netting to it. The one on the left is Purple #1 (which we've already turned into a small scrog by weaving her branches in and out of each other) and the one on the right is Brains Escape. I plan on adding 2 more (all we can fit) to the taller plants.

Here's a view of the top from left to right

And here are some shots from our veg box

Looking in -

In that shot, we have 2 bagseed, NYCD, Matanuska Thunderfuck, and Burmese Kush

Here's the Afghooey we were talking about with the quick growth

She shot up so fast, I decided it was a good time to pull her down and start turning her into a shrub

Here's the BuKu. This picture, and the next are just for you, Jin!

Here's her underside

This is local bagseed, a strain called Johnny. We got ahold of this one a few times, and man was it some good smoke! We were super happy to find a seed in our bag one time ;)

And here's another one we popped - Iced Grapefruit.

Well, that's all for now folks. I'll try to get some good individual shots the next time everyone's out for water.

Pulled up a comfy chair for the duration!

Everyone looks healthy and happy...

Great idea with the tomato cages, portable scrog...perfect :bigjoint:

Handy, handy.

I totally need to scrog my next one. You've inspired me to go to my local home improvement store.

I'm also excited about my planned nutrient upgrade. Yes, gotta get going.

Looks great, btw.

Allright, Took some time yesterday after I watered the girls to do some profile shots.

Here's Orange Bud

Cali Orange

Afghooey-A

Afghooey-S

Matanuska Thunderfuck

Ney York City Diesel

Purple #1

And a view from above -

Brains Escape

And a view from above -

And here's the current view when you open up the cab-

Most of the plants are about 18 inches, and Purple#1 really doesn't like the net. She keeps poking out! I've been rerouting the branches back under so they can stretch below and pop out some more upward growth above!

Afghooey A and S are both shorter then everyone else, but it's kinda been that way the entire time. She tends to be small and bushy.

Thinking of going into flower in a few days, still would like to get Orange Bud and Cali Orange in cages. They could really use it! Anything to control the height!

Nothing else too exciting, still impressed with the x-nutrients, purple has been ALL sorts of active since we started the new regimen. Thinking of doing a mix of technaflora and x-nutrients in order to use up what I have rather then have to waste anything.

Anyway, that's about it for now. Happy growing everyone!

I love your twisted little trunks.

edit:

They look like decorative show pieces... but they are so much more than that, aren't they?

Snickerdoodle wanted to keep a few from the last grow. I'm not sure what she has in mind for them, but they are pretty neat looking. They remind us of Bonsai tree's, especially when they're small.

When they get bigger, they just look like towers of bud ;)

Edit: Looking at it from a different perspective - Purple#1 looks like a skeleton hand reaching up toward the canopy

Thanks for hangin, Sam.

Just a quick little update, Switched the lights to 12/12 yesterday, we're about an hour away from finishing day 2 in flower.

Yay for progress!

Thanks for the 'stop by' . Righ ton! How was that Afgooey to smoke and does (did)she want to get tall? That was another strain i might try. Geez, your set looks great! You got it under your thumb,Bro.

The afghooey was the only plant that didn't get as tall as the others, and she smokes great. Good for pain.

Thanks for stoppin by and peepin our grow. It's not the best setup, but it sure is functional, and with a fan speed controller, the goddamn inline fan won't be so loud. Anything that spits out meds every few months is good ;)

Nice setup. Its looking good, surprised got such nice plants using solo cups!
Believe me, it's a fight. I have to check on them all the time to make sure they need water. I'm watering my entire garden evert 24-36 hours because I'm growing in such small pots. It sucks, but when you have limited space, you make it work ;)

With dedication like that, I shudder to think what you would do with expensive gear.

I love to hear the praise from both of you, it makes me warm and fuzzy inside, lol

Soon, my friends... soon. I already have a hookup for a 430 HPS setup... just gotta get the space to use it

430? Don't know if I have heard that before....400 yes, 430? Will it be hard to find bulbs in 430 size? Regular ballast or digital?

btw...made some honey oil today...tasty

It might be 400, I forget, and I never got info on the ballast, other then that there was one. I'm pretty sure my memory is toasted, all things considered. I've got a pinched sciatic, been dealing with it for about 10 days, and it's starting to wear on me >.<

Yummy, oil! I can't wait until I have enough trimmings to make more then just tincture. Maybe this round will be the one, eh?

On a side note, my speed controller for the inline showed up in the mail today. Now I don't have to leave the door open, and rush to close it before lights go out! We were so tired of hearing the fan that after we were done flowering the first round, the fan went off, and stayed off. We've been playing a tricky game since then keeping them closed at night and open during the day. It wouldn't be so bad, but right below the flowering chamber, I've got an 18/6 cycle going for my clones and cuttings, and it currently doesn't have ventilation (need to create some boxes to direct light and air) so it's gotta stay open about 3-5 inches all day long, otherwise the heat shoots up, and the cuttings de-humidify.

btw, Momapug, I might have some extra's of brainy, afghooey, and NYCD in a few days/week. This MX Cloning gel by Hydroponix is pretty good, way better then olivia's, and better then the stuff that technaflora makes. I'm sure it's shit compared to your Wood's, but it sure is better then most of what we've tried!

I relied on gel for a long time without problems, used powder before that....and nothing before that! Rooting hormone hasn't always been around...it was an exciting concept :-) I just find the Woods is cheaper and seems dependable...the key is what works best for you.

I sent for some of the Hydroponix samples, they will ship to my hydro store....but some gel is coming in the mail to me. Guess they want the local stores to see their products.

So glad the fan speed thingy arrived, made a huge difference with my set up, I can imagine it was a nice improvement for you!!

Got some dank goodness set aside for another round of oil.. waiting for you two to come help make it...and sample it bongsmilie
