800W CMH Growzilla

So, I am a legal grower/patient in colorado and recently got my own grow room put together. I have been wanting to try the ceramic metal halides for a while now and finally got my growzilla so I can run 800watts.

Currently growing 2 black hash plants(clones), 1 hawaiian indica(clone), and a master kush(Nirvana Fem Seed).

They are all in 7 gallon smartpots which are full of happyfrog/oceanforest mix and are 3 weeks in. Planning on veggin until around Sept 1-15th.

Nutrients: Buddha Grow/Bloom, Botanicare Pure Blend Grow/Bloom
Water: Non-chlorinated w/superthrive
Climate:73-76, 40-50 RH, Very adequate ventilation

I'll get some pics up tonight. No problems yet.

I don't mind anyone posting here in my journal. Post for any reason you like.

Here's a pic I took a couple days ago. The 3 in the 7 gallon smartpots are clones I just got 4-5 days ago, The 1 gallon pot has the master kush in it.

All the ladies are still doing well. Nothing big to update on. The clones have started to show some good growth now and the master from seed is growing like a mad man. I'll get a pic up later tonight.

Welcome to the RIU and congratulation on your choice of lighting. I myself will be running 400w with a carbon filter and fan. I got my feet wet with CFL's and have now made the move up. Received my equipment Friday and hope to get it completely installed by tomorrow. There is a couple good threads starting there CMH grows if ya would like to take a look and Riddleme has a wealth of information in his sig link.

Anyways, starting to ramble So I am subed for this. Can't wait to see what they do.

So I just checked on the ladies this morning and all are well I think. I will be transplanting the master kush into another 7 gallon smartpot tonight as it looks like it might be bound. Other than that, I'm thinking about adding a 1000w Ushio Dual Core to the Growzilla instead of another CMH. I really love the CMH but I'd like a little more juice. Any suggestions?

I'm also thinking about running the veg until the end of september for a total of about 13-14 weeks veg. Tips?

So, the master has been transplanted into a 7 gal smartpot. All four are still looking great. I'm going to attempt to fertilize with just the Buddha Grow and Botanicare Pure Blend Grow all the way through the life cycle. This should give me a 3-1-2.5 NPK. I know the different schools of thought on this so I don't need any criticism on the test. Just watch and see what happens. There will also be no topping or lollipopping or anything else like that. Just growing out big and bushy hopefully.

A little update, due to some circumstances out of my control I will flip the lights to 12/12 on August 15th instead of Sept 15th. Still not sure what light I want to go with for the second bulb.

I'll get another pic up for you guys on Friday.

subbed! nice clean and simple setup you have. i too just switched from CFLs to a 100 watt CMH bulb. not sure if you want one more big bulb, or maybe a few smaller ones. but if you would like a couple smaller CMH's, i posted some information on the 50 to 150 bulbs by philips in the CMH club. i see you are a member, so it wont be hard for you to find the info if you would like it. your grow could use some side lighting though as them girls will grow BIG im sure in those pots, so whatever light additions they may be, maybe make it 2, one for each side.

Thanks for the replys, I have decided to just go with the 400w CMH for my second bulb as well. They are looking great today, pics will be up tomorrow.

Gumball- I have (4) 90watt tri band leds, i was gonna mount 1 on each of the three closed walls you see and one shooting right up the middle of all 4. So that should be 800CMH + 360LED(side lighting).

So here's the ladies. They have about 3 1/2 weeks left in veg. Not much else to say. Let me know what you guys think or if you have any tips/suggestions on anything.

Two updates:

1) The circumstance making me flower on 8/15 instead of 9/15 is taken care of and these babies will veg for about 7 more weeks.

2) I couldn't come up with a good way to hang the LED's so it will just be one right up the middle.(Total 890w)

I'll get a few more pics up tuesday.

What's your yield goal? You will have some big bushes if you veg that long, and prob won't have enough light penetration for the lower canopy.

Little update- Plants are doing well. It is really hard to keep myself from switching to 12/12 now. I can't wait. I'll get a pic up in about an hour for you guys. They are getting bushy and I'm afraid I might have to do some thinning before it's all over. I was trying to avoid that. Oh well.

I've also spaced them out a little more. I'm going to be adding the second bulb in a couple weeks, so they should have the full 800 watts for the last month of veg.
