1st time grow - Greenhouse seeds " CHURCH " - Indoor/wardrobe

Ive just started my growing skills for the first time, choosing the Church strain
from greenhouse seeds as my first ever grow.
Grow space is a average sized wadrobe in my own bedroom, and measures about 1m x 1m x 2m, enough space for a good size plant.
Ive gone hydroponic with the setup for my first grow in an effort to keep it easily maintained. The setup list consists of the following:

1 x 400w HPS light complete
1 x Pulley set and fittings
1 x Contactor 1kW 1 Way
1 x GT205i NFT kit
1 x pH tester kit
1 x pH down 250ml
1 x Ionic Grow, Bloom 1L
2 x 10cc syringes
1 x Thermometer
1 x industrial Carbon filter
1 x desk fan

The seed was set to germinate on March the 14th 2010 and was fully standing by March the 26th, a slow starter.

- Plant left to vegetate - at 2 weeks into vegetate period (Pics below)

Flowering 7 days

It has been a week since flowering of the plant which began on the 26th of April, allowing for a full month in the vegetative state. Doing this has allowed the plant to grow into a decent size, and hopefully therefore allowing for a larger yield.
The water in the 20L tank has been changed on an almost weekly basis with a new change of added nutrients from iconic grow to bloom for the flowering period. Light has been changed from 16/8 to a 12/12 cycle.
Theres been an explosion in size already, only a week in!

14 Days since flowering

The church is showing great growth and has exploded over the last 2 weeks.
No signs of over feeding and I actually think it could probably take more as its
finishing a 20L tank of water, with 140mm of icoBloom per week which is a good sign.
Cant wait for the next few weeks!

3 weeks of flowering

Boom!! Once again the church has exploded this week, with immense growth, theres
also a whole lot of white flowers appearing all over the plant.
The plant has also come intensly bushy, therefore ive separated a number of the main branches by pulling them apart using strings and pins. This I believe will slightly force the plant outwards and furthermore allow more intense light to reach the middle of the plant, allowing for more growth in the inner parts of the plant.
Plant is tall and bushy and looking healthy and is using the usual 20L of water and feed per week. Bring on the next week.

Listen to me my friend - get a bigger pot 'asap' the plant will become root bound and wont reach its full potentoal - u need at least a 7 gallon pot of that size a plant - it looks amazing but u need a bigger pot! Well done - love the true green essence of the plant

Right, were into week 4, and its once again been another great week.
Branch seperation seemed to work with the plant now fully filling out and spreading out, in which its starting to fill out the assigned space. Great flower production now, with all or most showing pistill formation, and there are loads forming all over the plant with what seems to be a concentration of flowers where the central column may be. Height has once again shot up in the small space of a week, and it seems theres alot more growing to go!!

Into week 5 now and its nothing but good news.
Flower production all over the plant is going great, with formations of big buds all over the plant especially at the centre column thats developing nicely. Its become a real bush, with grow everywhere and minimum gaps between branches. Crystal production is now in good flow aswell with a great amount of crystal round most of of the flowers. WHat a smell!!! Lemon haze type aura with maybe a hint of lavender, either way its stinking. Sweet!!!

So were into week 6 and all is great with the church. Ive been really impressed with the growth of the plant and its flower production. Plant has grown to a real big size, that I had to remove the shelf platform that was still in the wadrobe, helped in letting the plant grow that little bit taller, and is allowing for continuous decent light distrubution throughout the whole wardrobe. Plant is still stinking so the carbon filter has to be on almost continuously. Further concern is that even though the main column is of a decent size, it and alot of the other branches thoughout the plant could do with filling out with more flowers and buds. Therefore Ive gone with adding a concentrated potassium phosphate solution to the tank to give the plant a one week kick in the ass. Otherwise everything is great with even more crystal production. Decided this week im gona leave flowering to the premium with 9 weeks of flowering.

hey man, the nutrients im using are IONIC GROW AND BLOOM http://www.growell.co.uk/p/0823/Ionic-Grow-and-Bloom.html
@ 7mm per litre, so thats 140mm for a 20L tank. Ionic grow is for the veg growth stage, while bloom is used during the flowering period.

Now you that you said that, I see it in your first post. Sorry.

I see that you listed a contactor too, are you using that to trigger the pump? I ask because I had considered using NFT instead of ebb & flow but partr of why I didn't is I couldn't find a timer that would let me run cycles in short enough intervals to make the NFT work properly. I found 1 that would do a short cycle but it's digital and doesn't have enough programs to get past a couple of hours, let alone 24 hours. The NFT can be a space saver and you aren't introducing nearly as much moisture into the flower room so it's easier to control RH.

hey dezracer i use exactly the same set up the pump runs 24/7 the pumpis so small that it isnt worth the hassle with a timer the contactor is for the light it relays plug into your timer when using HID lights to protect it against the inductive load of the control gear, as ordinary household timers will not cope with this load and burn out.

and fussy do you struggle with temps in a wardrobe especially without a cool tube around that hps?

Got it, thanks. I use a heavy duty mechanical timer for my HPS so haven't had that problem or I would've known, most likely.

So your plants are getting a continuous spray then? Or does this system just give off a light mist due to the size of the pump and the type of spray rail it comes with. I googled the sytem listed in the first post so I now have an idea of what it is and I like the look and cost of it so want to know a little more about it but cant find this info on their site. Other NFT type systems I've seen have a 1 minute on and four off cycle that the pump runs is why I ask and I did just find an online shop that has a timer for NFT systems by the way so I may build one to try out alongside my ebb & flow for comparison. It will be a while though since I all of a sudden have a full schedule with work (7 days a week for the next two months).

Hey guys, to all your questions, to dezracer, my awnser is similar to mrmcmonkey, the contactor is for the hps while the pump as mentioned is small and keeps the water flowing in the tank so I leave it on 24/7. The system I purchased came from a local supplier and hes got a good site with some information on the system Im using @

To mrmcmonkey, funny enough i havent had any over heating problems, the temp seems to remain at a constant 25-30 degrees. Think the reason that my general room temp is not that high as I leave my window slightly open which with my bedroom remains constantly cool, and the desktop fan and the carbon keep the air circluation going brining in cool air and removing warmer air. My wadrobe has sliding doors that are not the most firmly fixed so furthermore there are gaps in which cooler air can acces the grow space. At the beginning in an effort to keep things cool the desk fan was used to keep the contactor cool
