Hello every one. This is my first time posting here but I've been lurking for quite a while. I am putting up this real time journal because I have a passion for Doc's gear and have grown many of his strains in the past and have had good luck with all that I've tried. I want to stress that this is NOT an advertisement and this is being done because I truly believe in his genetics and personally believe he is one of the top five professional commercial breeders on the planet(probably top two).
I received my 10 pack of seeds that I ordered from Doc(actually 11 pack as I have always received an extra on every order)and proceeded to germinate six of the 11.I never attempt to germinate all the seeds at once because you never know what can happen.I mixed a shotglass sized solution of 1/8 strength Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Flowering formula with about a drop or two of Rootech cloning gel making sure the gel was well dissolved.I then started soaking the seeds in the solution at exactly 12:00 p.m. 4/19 making sure to poke them every once in a while to make sure they break the water tension and sink to the bottom. If your seeds refuse to sink they probably are not viable but keep trying as some strains have a hard time letting in the moisture to start the germination process(sometimes you need to scuff them up a bit gently).I let them soak for about 10 hours and then placed them in between two moistened folded up paper towels in an open Gladware container placed on top of a germination heating mat, checking every couple of hours to make sure the paper towels didn't dry out.At 12:00 pm 4/20 the taproots on all six seeds were poking out about 1/8" to 1/4"(not a bad date to be born on). This is where I differed from my usual germination procedure to Doc's germination instructions that came with the order.I usually place the taproot facing down but Doc's instructions said to plant them with the pointed end of seed and taproot that is protruding 1/8" to 1/4" facing UP,covering it with 1/2" of media.I followed these instructions planting them in Fox Farm"s Ocean Forest Potting Soil in 6.5"X 6.5"X 6.5" square plastic pots underneath 210 watts of 5000K tt-105 compact flourecents. I noticed that it took about an extra day for the sprouts to break the surface.None of the six had any sign of the seed shell,as sometimes they can stick to the cotyledons and cause problems.I think this MAY be Doc's reason for planting that way.
As of 4/23 all six sprouts were well above the soil line. One or two stretched a little but that was my fault because of lighting position. As of today 4/29 all six have a nice first set of true leaves and are starting to look like little plants.I will start posting pictures after they develop a couple sets of leaves as no on wants to see boring seed and sprout shots. After they develop a few sets of leaves they will be placed under 420 watts of 5000K tt-105 compact flourecents to be vegged out. Will be using Bontanicare Pure Blend Pro vegetation formula,Botanicare's Liquid Karma,Botanicare Cal Mag,Higrocorp's Organa-Add,and or unsulphured molasses/100% pure organic aguave nectar(in your supermarket sugar section) as soon as necessary.I shouldn't need to add anything except maybe the molasses/aguave nectar to get the microbial activity in the soil going,as Fox Farms Ocean Forest Potting Soil is of very high quality.
I gifted a couple of seeds to a couple other people so HOPEFULLY I will have a couple of other end products to show everyone and compare how it performs under different growing parameters.
See you soon.

Hi everybody.
As of today 5/5 all 6 are still doing great. One of the six has a type of mutation where the leaves have a crinkled downward folding look. All five of others are normal and look identical except for a slight difference in size due to their positions under the sprouting light. They are starting to look like little cannabis plants now and are working on their third true set of leaves. They were just placed under a Sunleaves Satellite-IV 420 watt tt-105 compact floursecent light fixture. There are two 5,000-K bulbs and two 3,000-K bulbs in the fixture. I chose to mix the spectrum rather than go with all 5,000-K bulbs as I've always had better luck doing it this way. The only supplement used so far is Botanicare's Liquid Karma.
I will start posting pictures in the next day or two.

cool man ill subscribe. This is my first time growing docs gear i just stuck a dope in flower a few hours ago. It's kinda small but is about a month old or so and has preflowers. Anyways you can check out my journal if you like I came to the conclusion that root tip up is definately the way to go.

Same here, the germination worked perfect. I've been lurking in your journal and will definately subscribe to it

That's why the doc gives you 11 lol. Looks like my romulan I have I thought it was high temps but might be the genetics. It eventually grew out of it's funk though.

A quick update: All are still doing great. The mutant is still hanging in there. The other five's stems are starting to thicken nicely and are just starting to develop their sixth set of leaves.
The only supplements used so far is a foliar feed with Higrocorp's Organa Add and Liquid Karma from Botanicare.

It,s a birthday today! My babies were born on exactly 4/20 at 12:00 pm. Everything is going great, the mutant is still kicking, and all is well!
I have given foliar feeds with Botanicare's Liquid Karma and Higrocorp's Organa Add. Molasses has been added to the soil as well. I am not going to top these this time around. I asked Doc about his experience topping this strain and his exact reply was: I don't top Chemdawg at all, but if you're going to do so I'd prune it radially, starting at the second node and pinching it off at the 6th.
I will try both ways next round and see what happens.
These were taken today:tn_gallery_6229_119_11634.jpgtn_gallery_6229_119_22021.jpgtn_gallery_6229_119_839.jpgtn_gallery_6229_119_42896.jpgtn_gallery_6229_119_46146.jpgtn_gallery_6229_119_20871.jpgtn_gallery_6229_119_45188.jpgtn_gallery_6229_119_31034.jpgtn_gallery_6229_119_28709.jpgtn_gallery_6229_119_67345.jpg

I'm rooting for that mutant!!
She is still plugging along, and is getting really interesting looking. She is lagging way behind the others so it will take longer to get the end results out of her. I need to be able to clone her before I flower her. I'll get some updated pictures of her up in a day or so.

Here is a quick update:
I just noticed a couple of pre-flowers tonight 5/30 on several of the plants. This is exactly 40 days from germination.
Basically I am in a holding position, as I am starting clones of each plant, and want to make sure they are rooted before I put the originals into the flowering cycle. I have started giving them 1 Tablespoon per gallon of Botanicare's Pure Blend Pro Vegetative Formula( NPK 3-1.5-4 ) and Botanicare's Liquid Karma( NPK .1-.1-.5 ) at 2 teaspoons per gallon at every watering. I have also started adding Higrocorp's OrganaAdd( NPK 2-0-0 ) at 1 teaspoon per gallon every three waterings. The plants are watered every other night on average. They are receiving a foliar feed once a week with OrganAdd at 2 teaspoons per gallon and Liquid Karma at 1.5 teaspoons per gallon. All the mixtures are PH balanced to 6.0-6.5 . Their average daytime high temperatures have been around 80-85 degrees with a night time average of around 70- 75 degrees. I will be transplanting them into 3 gallon plastic nursery pots with Fox Farms Happy Frog Potting Soil in the next couple of days. I will make sure to take, and post pictures before I transplant them.
When the time comes they will be flowered under either a 1000 watt Hortilux HPS-EN or a 1000 watt Hortilux Blue HPS. I have't decided yet.

I am transplanting them into 3 gallon pots tonight filled with Fox Farm's Happy Frog soil. Here are a few pictures, sorry about the quality again but a new camera is on the way, and the flowering pics are what really counts. They are on average about 12.5" tall and I am expecting about a 200% stretch so they should end up in the 3 foot range or slightly bigger at harvest. The mutant is way behind and I am not sure how she will do, so I am going to hold her back a bit. The other five will hit the 12/12 cycle in a few days, after they have adjusted to the transplant, and I am sure that I have a clone of each.

Update: I just put the five girls in the flower room as I am seeing roots on the cuttings. Now comes the good part! The girls are between 15"-18" and should be solid 4-4.5 foot plants in 60-75 days. They are now under a 1000 watt digital HPS system using a Hortilux LU1000/HTL/EN bulb.

After only 4 days of 12/12 the girls are now averaging 19"-24" and have put on a 5" - 6" stretch in this short period of time!

looks good man. All except your mutant what a weirdo. My mutant grew out of it but I took a clone of it and the clone started growing like that too it was weird and a male anyways. My first dope's almost ready and I had some setbacks and probably going to wind up choppin the others a little prematuraley. Anyways can't wait to see these girls start to bulk up I'm sure they will, peace.
