I've been growing for many years now but this will be my first time actually posting a grow journal. After a fairly embarrasing attempt at reworking the nutrient schedule on my last grow I'm going to try and get back to basics. I welcome any advice anyone would like to offer during the grow and I will try to update the journal at least every few days. As far as equipment is concerned, I use a 1000w switchable ballast with a vertizontal hood, I grow in soil (pro-mix), and unless otherwise stated I use foxfarm brand fertilizers.
Lollipop White Widow/Blueberry/Sadhu

Planting 15 White Widow and 10 BlueBerry today (Feb 28. Starting in peat pots however this time i plan to spend less time until tranplanting to there final containers. 10 days at most from germination. If at all possible I would like to transfer to 1000w metal halide after 5-7 days from germination/soil break. I cut additional holes in the bottom of the peat pots to allows roots easier access to escape. Also, this time i am using spin-out treated 4.25g pots so hopefully there will be no problems with rootbound plants. Hoping to veg for 7 weeks from planting and flower for 8 weeks.
Starting 10 Sadhu today (march 1). Will be starting these in 3 gallon pots until sex can be determined. I have 2 extra treated containers available for transplant after i sort out the male sadhu. Any female sadhu besides the first 2 will be put in untreated 5 gallon containers and will provide an interesting control group. Since these extra plants will be outside the hood from the 1000w lights I will have to supplement with the addition of a 220w T5 floro.

hey bro sounds like a good grow to me...i like using 1000 watter's as well...sucks im stuck using this 400 right now! Those will be some relatively big girls veggin for 7 weeks. Im siked for you...both good strains also. Pic's are guna be a must! Keep us posted

10/10 Blueberry have germinated and all have broken soil surface. 11/15 WW have germinated with 6 above surface. 6/10 Sadhu germinated with none above soil surface. I believe all or most of the ungerminated seeds will germinate within the next day or two as all showed the waxy surface and slightly transluescent edges and tips of seeds that are within hours of splitting. I will update with pics of the seedlings and grow set-up hopefully tomorrow. Also, if anyone is interested in seeing pics of the fruits of my last grow (White Widow and Sadhu) let me know and I will take some pictures before it's all gone.
Alright, here are the pics I promised and only a couple days late. The first two pictures are what remains of the 7 Sadhu from my last grow. Sorry I forgot to include something for a size reference but the largest buds in the pics are around 6 inches long. The second 2 pics are (from left to right) Sadhu, WW, and Blueberry. These pics are from a couple days ago when only a couple WW and a few BB had broken the surface. The last 3 pics are from this morning with WW on the left, BB in the middle and Sadhu on the right. All 10 of the BB germinated, a day faster than the WW, and are doing well. Only 11/15 of the WW have germinated and I don't expect any more to do so. This is by far the worst germination rate I have ever had! Last grow I actually had two sets of twins which brought my germination rate to 105% but I guess life can't always be that good. 7/10 Sadhu germinated however one was decapitated this morning as I was trying to remove a very stubborn shell casing. The sadhu seeds I am using are actually F2s I created a couple years back and are old enough that I would expect some seeds not to germinate. This is the first time though that I have had any of the sadhu seeds to fail to germinate.

Transplanted into larger pots 2 days ago. Treated all plants with a 30% dose of FoxFarm organic Big Bloom. The WW and BB are in the 4.25 gallon pots and the sadhu are in the 1 gallon pots to the left. There are also 2 hostas, 2 clematis, 3 zestful bleeding hearts, 3 rhododendrons, and a couple pineapples in the foreground (god i love spring!).

Noticed some spotting on three of the seedlings (1 WW, 2 BB). Looks to be light bleaching and may be the result of some small water droplets left on the seedlings from when I fertilized a couple days ago. It only occurred on plants that are in the square directly under the light and I also noticed that plants in this zone are a lighter shade of green than those around the edges. I believe I may have taken them out from under the floros a few days too soon. I swapped out the lighter seedlings for positions around the edge and moved the light up about 3 more inches. It should also be noted that this batch of seeds were the smallest and lowest quality I have yet to receive so these minor problems may simply be related to poor seed quality this time around. This would also account for the diminished and much slowed germination rate among the white widow. I grew WW last cycle from the same seed company (white label) and the seeds were much larger, darker, and had a 100% germination rate. The largest seedlings are working on their second set of three leaflet leaves with the internodal length being just as short as my last grow(YAY!). The WW in my last cycle had internodal lengths of less than a centimeter in some cases and makes lollipopping extremely easy.

For me the idea of a journal is a step by step guide/ diary for your grow. So others fa learn from it. Right or wrong. If you know what I mean.

I dont put pics up every day because there is no noticable difference from day to day. If I was gonna take that many pics I might as well make a stop motion video. This grow is now on day 18 from seed planting and not even 2 weeks from soil break. I didn't think people wanted to see dozens of pics of seedlings and I only include what is relavent into my journal instead of filling up a post every time I check in on my plants. All relavent information is and will be included in the journal. However, if you must know, in the time between pics and posts I check on my plants 5000 times a day, water when needed, and fret over every little thing.
I'm like a big child I like to look at pics more than reading. lol
Never mind me, I was drinking when I posted last. I posted quiet a few stupid things then.

Lol, I feel ya on the checking a million times a day before mine was in the attic I was in there everytime I walked by the door lol just stopped in like a pit stop.

So it's been a week since I gave the plants a 30% dose of Big Bloom. I forgot how goddanm sensitive the sadhu are and ended up burning most of the sadhu. One sever case, 1 moderate with the rest fairly minor. Only 2 BB and 1 WW showed any signs of nute burn. To add insult to injury it would seem that I have spider mites on 4 or five plants, all but one sadhu. At this point its very early on in the infestation and the damage is very minor. I will be treating al plants for spidermites tonight and will also update with new pics. Many of the BB and WW are no longer in the seedling stage.
Its now 22 days since first planting this batch of seeds. The pictures are from 2 days ago. Lost 1 sadhu from nute burn. Gave all the sadhu a light flush this morning and they have responded very well. 2 of the WW seedlings are growing a little funky. I had 2 WW do exactly the same thing on my last grow and they both grew out of it pretty fast and caught up to the rest within in a couple of weeks. All the plants have a much better shade of green on em now than last week. I will probably be topping them within 2 weeks. The largest seedlings have 4 branching nodes on them so far. Nodes are about 1 centimeter apart although this is just an estimate.

Forgot to mention, I also treated all the plants for spider mites a couple days ago. I just used a some organic soap solution i found at walmart. I noticed a little more spider mite action on a couple different sadhu plants a day or two after the treatment. If it continues to occur I will be re-treating all the plants in a few days with a combination of neem oil and tobacco water.
