Ok. So i'm starting my 2nd grow journal using my new DWC setup.

I'm going to grow 5 auto flowering AK-47 along with the one feminized Durban poison I got. The Durban will have a 10 day head start due to the shipping of the AK seeds. All seeds were purchased at Attitude.

I'm using a 250w dual ballast HID running on a 20/4 light cycle until about 6-8 weeks. (When I start flowering the Durban).

I'm going to be using CN-17 nutes ( http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/itemdesc.asp?ic=NLCNSGG&eq=&Tp=) both grow and bloom, I'm planning on starting those at around 3 weeks after the AK-47's germinate.

Here's some pics of my setup and the 7 day old Durban poison to start things off.

well....i got my ak-47's planted, most of them sprouted and 4 power skunks also are sprouting now.

the durban poison is showing signs of a deficiency so i am adding some nutes for the first time. hopefully its enough to save it but not enough to kill the seedlings.

Here's an update at 10 days with the auto ak-47 and 15 days power skunk, the ak's are growing faster then the power skunk..prlly cuss they are in hydro but its interesting enough.

these pics arn't the best i used my phone cam instead of my digital...better pics later..

oh and the durban poison i started is very stunted, i had to wait to start nutes and its suffering from ph burn / all kinds of nute deficencies. i'm gona let it grow to see if it will recover, it has 7 weeks.

the ph is now about 6.4-6.8, i've been lowing it a few tenths every day and i'm preping for a res change late this week.

so far all it good :bigjoint:

14 days

Well, the durban poison hasn't grow much the last couple days, its having a real tuff time recovering from its ph/ nute deficiency.

Def not gona start plants early in the dwc nemore.

i changed the res again and balanced everything, i'm using 1/2 recommended nutes now, going to up it in a few days.
ph is a little high at 6.5-6.8 still.

lol. so my pet rat basically tried to eat one of my power skunk plants so it needs to recover and another power skunk just straight up died in about 5 hours. i went to work and when i got back its leaves were comletely limp and it hasnt' recovered at all.

at this point i have my 5 main ak-47's doing great, the stunted dp which i'm not expecting anything out of , and 3 power skunks.

a closeup of the dp shows hairs, it can't be flowering after 3 weeks can it...gona do sum research on that.

the roots are growing nicely, the plants are growing fast, except for the durban, you can see it hasn't grown at all but it has devolved white hairs already, weird but i'm gona let it go and see wut happens.

the ak looks beautiful...

so. LOL, i'm running out of room but its good.

all of the plants hav shown sex, they are all females =)

i kind of expected as much because they were feminized seeds but its always nice to get conformation.

its been about 4 weeks so i'm up to 2/3 recommended nutes, i starting blending in the bloom nutes today, the ph is down to around 5.8 now.

added some extra floros i had laying around for good measure, they weren't being used anyway.

heres an update at day 38

i've upped the nutes to the max recommended
the plants are going though about 1 gallon of water every 2 days

the durban poision which was stressed out in the beginning is now a 5 inch "bud on a stick"

the ak 47's are about 15 inches tall and there are alot of bud sites developing, so many that in the confined space i have i was forced to bend down any fan leaves that are overlapping the bud sites to expose them to more light, i've also thrown in the 2 17watt floros i hav and 4 23 watt cfls that i move around every day for extra light

i switched to the hps bulb last night now that i can see they are ready to start budding....

my guess is another 4-5 weeks and i shoud be ready to smoke :)

all this is good and keeps my mind off my unemployment right now, i was laid off last friday :(, 53 of us were seperated from cat logistics, first time logistics laid off anyone in 29 years. yippi....

anyway, enjoy the pics

Heres a few more bud shots i took while i
was changing the res...

i decided it would be good just to get a clean
mix in there so i could run fresh water/nutes
for the last couple weeks

for the first 5 weeks or so i was changing the res once a week. So i was just dumping out the old solution and making a new one with fresh water and nutes.

for the last couple weeks i've been just adding nutes every 4 days, every other time i add water.

heres sum tric shots i took today, still all clear but thats good. i want big buds =P

Well i'm at Day 61ish (pretty sure)

of day 70-80.

I'm thinking i have another 2 weeks to go
The hairs on the lower buds are turning amber
and the two plants in the middle are playing
catchup, they got a little crowed and root bound
but i increased the res size by 3-4 gallons
by cutting a hole in the bottom of another
rubbermaid and stacking them ontop of each
other. They look delicious.

I might have to wait 3 weeks to harvest them
however, I'm going to be in Bristol at the
nascar race next weekend so we will see
how ready they are by then, i'm looking
for more of a couch lock high anyway so
letting them sit a little longer shouldn't hurt
to much.

Anyway heres sum pics, you can tell which plant has to play catchup as the
main cola is just starting to develop.

If you keep feeding them nutes they'll never finish. Even nitric acid in the pH down will will wreck that shit. You wanna go water only for the last 3 weeks and use phosphoric acid to adjust the pH; otherwise I would suggest you not even adjust the pH and go water only; distiled or reverse osmosis would be ideal.

Thanks for the tip, it would be good if i could stretch it out for a week so i'll actually be in town to check them.
Next week i will do a complete wash and use only water and get sum good ph down.
