hey friends,

this is my first attempt at indoor growing, heres the rundown,

ghetto set up,
basement grow space 4' wide 7' tall
3 plants from bagseed
39 days old today 13 in. tall
lights 18 on 6 off
soil, miricle grow
lighting, 5 4ft. flouros (2 60 watt growlux and 3 standard cool white) 3 100 watt cfls
circulating fan
temp 78 degrees , lights off it drops to about 70

Im having a bit of a problem with fungus gnats but I think I have them under control. I mixed 3 parts water with 1 part peroxcide to try and kill the larvi. I just did this yesterday so its to early to tell.

heres my main concern, last week I noticed the 2 bottom leaves on my one lady (I hope) were turning yellow and dying so i removed them thinking it was because they wernt getting enough light. so this morning I noticed that her 2 bottom leaves are doing the same thing.
Could this be from lack of nitrogen?
If so the miricle grow soil said it feeds plants for 3 months. Should I start feeding them plant food?
Here are some pics and the leaves that are tuning yellow (its just the 2 bottom ones) the pics arnt the greatest but hopefully someone can give me some insight as to whats wrong with my pretty lady. Looking forward to hearing comments and constructive critisism and pointers.
Also are they looking healthy and descent size for 39 days old. thanks folks....:peace:bongsmilie
ps. the last 2 pics are the dying leaves. the last pic is the best ...

It would be normal for the plants to shed a few lower leves as it grows up, they look pretty healthy. When are you planning on changing your light schedule? VV

hey folks,
well today my ladies are 46 days old. there doing pretty good except 2 of them are very droopy as you will see in the pictures below.
could this be from lack of water?
Ive been watering them every 3 or 4 days. the tallest one is now 17 inches. tonight before I watered them i stuck my finger in the soil and it was dry about 3 inches down.
the leafs on the bottoms keep dying to, about 2 a week but thats normal right? the very tips of the leafs are neon green or yellow to. drop a line , Ill post pics in about 5 mins. I have to reboot my comp first. let me know what you think, thanks......bongsmilie

heres some pics, sorry my camera is a cheapy

Hey cap, Overwatering and underwatering can look the same at first. At 46 days you should have a 'feel' for your plants watering needs. Are those pots the dropping plants are in 'heavy' or 'light'?? The loss of those leaves, the way it is showing, with the lights you have is normal. When, in your light cycle, were these pictures taken? Was i an hour or so before lights off? Plants that are kept on a 'schedule', unlike children, get ready to go to sleep, they relax, and look almost droppy. VV

hey VV, they definately needed water,. I have a good feel for them, i was watering them every 3 days but i think im gonna change that to every other day since there getting bigger. actually they had just woke up about 3 hours before i took the pics.and the pots were very light come to think of it. i just went down and checked them and their perky and look happy, lol. they needed water thats all. i took some pics this morning of the bottom leaves of the smallest plant. theres about 4 leaves that are strange in color. I usually just have 2 at a time chgange color and die , but theres 4 here. also notice the bright color on the very tips of the leaves. is that normal? thanks VV....

If you are getting good new top growth don't get to worried about losing the bottom leaves with the lights you are using. It would be normal for the plant to 'leach' all of the nutrients out of a leaf it is shedding, that is why it begins to fade from the tip in. If something start showing up throught the plant, then you should start to investigate. VV

thanks VV. thats good to hear. i just get a little nervous every now and then having put all this time into them. do you think it would be a good idea to start feeding them some type of plant food even though im using MG soil and it said it will feed plants up to 3 months?

ok so today my ladies are 55 days old. im still vegging. still not giving any food because the MG soil still seems to be feeding them good.
I got rid of the foil and changed their set up a bit also, the growing space before was only 4' wide so I moved them the long way in the room which is about 6'. I figured this would give them a little space between them to get wider.
the one on the right is 19 in. tall, the middle one is 14 inches, and the lady on the left is 24 in.
Why is the one in the middle only 14 in??? They were all germinated and planted on the same day. they were all treated equally also. lol...Im hopeing my 2 bigger ones are females but its probably the other way around. lol... I also put pics of the fan and the heater.
the room is only 4x8 and the plants are on a table about 5' long so on one side is the heater and on the other side up high is the fan.. any questions or comments - or + reguarding my babies or my cfl/ floro set up are appreciated. thanks for stopping by....:leaf::peace::eyesmoke:
