Question as LST progresses

is it actually the height that is the determinate or the amount of light hitting certain parts of the plant, I.E. higher budsights get more light and therefore have access to more resources? Basically i am asking if you have multiple lights focused all around the plant is this necessary, if every budsight receives equal light will i still need to make my busights on the same horizontal plane?

Without knowing as much as anti does, I'm going to guess that simply providing light to the lower areas will not do what keeping them to the same height does. It's like the plant has a BRAIN!

yeah the auxin is stimulated with this type of level lst. wikipedia auxin and read. the plant does do what it needs to do to survive and thrive. the multiple sources of light do help but it's not what we were discussing.

. . . .hey seamaiden i started the lst and will be weaving around my 8in cool tube. all the way up.

Oh really? That sounds kind of cool, I look forward to pix. By the way, what are those things in your av? They remind me of shiitake mushrooms, but it looks like glass.

hey seamaiden the avatar is a pic i took whilst visiting seattle. they look like trichromes to me. they are this glass artwork in this mall. pretty cool. also i have started the hard lst and trying to keep all new growth even to eachother. it's working great. the plants seem to be confused as to where it's main stem is. i'll call what i'm doing a "hard LST" i think i've read about this. i tried the glass bit on top of the plants but i would rather tie down individually. i have created in just 4 days several new budsites and then after sorting out the budsites i'm going to maintain the height of each. the problem is that i'm doing v-scrog so i need to figure out how to lst and do it vertical/cylindrical as well as maintain height uniformity. any suggestions.

. . . . . also my humidity is fairly low. how do you (diy) add humidity. i have no room for a humidifier. i have a air pump with a airstone percolating some water in the cab but the humidity stays at around 25% any suggestions?

I have been battling pests, and while the plants have my remedies on their leaves I'm trying not to touch them. When I get back home later this afternoon I'll be reassessing the situation.

I am growing outdoors, thusly have no control over humidity. However, the bubbler, if not working as you would like, might be better replaced with an actual humidifier (I'd use a "cold" humidifier, the kind that creates a superfine spray). Or, get some of those green florists blocks and put them in an open container of water, just like cigar smokers do with humidors.

Back to the LST, we're both first-timers with it, so I don't have any suggestions. I was initially using this green garden wire we got at Lowe's, it can be forced into a position and will old that position, which is better than string in many ways. But, 50' for $3 only goes so far, so I decided to combine jute twine with the wire wherever possible.

I'm gonna have some pix to upload soon. Did some big tie-offs, lots of new branches, they're looking strong but starting to take up more room. That happens, I guess.

Alright, some current photos of my garden. :)

Alright, some close-ups. I'm looking at a lot of the plants right now, and I just did them ALL yesterday, and quite a few could use re-training. sheesh. :D

Thats what I'm talking about. Crack the whip on those girls:mrgreen: Pretty cool how quickly they turn back to the light after training huh?

On one hand, yeah, on the other, I could use a break!

I didn't make clear that the first two sets of pix are some of my plants pre-lst session and post lst-session.
