A little update

Pontoon is on. I like the idea of disconnecting the battery for the 730's. Otherwise 24/0 it is.

The pontoon bumped it up from 420µmols.

I just can't get rid of this nurse jackie cut...this is was in a 3gal fabric w/soil...I just transplanted it into a 5gal DWC bucket. My first try at DWC...cheated a little by vegging this beast in soil. I am just going to veg it out a little longer then give it the at200 probably. Try to get one big plant...dawg style. I have 6 clones of her that just got potted up too but don't know how to run them. I want to run all one strain but it is so hard to kill off some other genetics, I have professor chaos and conspiracy kush#'s 3&4 too. But I have at least seen NJ flowered.

Man I really like that color..

Brother im glad to see you taking a hand at dwc, but that is a LOT of hydroton lol. I am going with no media on these next batch of clones. Trust me when I say, it is a pain in the ass. IF you are looking to doing more hydro, think about it. Superstoner has been preaching it for years it seems over in the dwc sub and I think I've figured it out for my setup.

What nutes you goin on? Cant wait to see an AT+Hydro run... you may be seeing another around the corner o.0

It is the whole net pot so the plant stayed up. The roots were already so big when I put it in, they take up the whole bottom of the net pot with no hydroton...then hydroton on top. Since it was os big and roots were huge too, it was different from starting in the system. I kind of through it together without really knowing what I'm getting into. The problem is I want to hit a unit of what ever I grow...so I figure DWC the mom plus the 6 clones in dirt could do that in a reasonable time and smaller space. Otherwise I just wait for the BBK clones I cut last night to root and I will have a full room of one strain.

I thought about putting a hole in a bucket lid so that I could use a aero puck and just hang it into the water and have no net pot at all.

I was given some gallons of Cyco grow and bloom a&b plus the b1 boost...what else do I need to run the cyco line. Otherwise GH flora for simplicity.

I dont know a whole lot about Cyco but it looks like its pretty straight forward, and if youve got it you might as well use it! Only thing is if youre using plain RO you may need to run 4:1 with tap to get some iron, sulphur, zinc..... for free, or get some Mineral Matrix or a variant or Micro's

I havnt dug into PK boosters myself.... but dawg and puff have talked about moab recently.

I didnt even think about your root mass already being that big, i am doing the neos next Less upkeep is always nice.

EDIT:

I run the Cyco lineup almost entirely, some few things I have learned is 1. Cyco doesn't understand deficiency, always greeen. 2. Weak lineup for bloom. I run their whole lineup asides from potash and swell, which I would use like H&G top booster/bud xl in conjuction with boomblastic and some sort of shooting powder, I personally like M.O.A.B absolutely fell in love with that product.http://madfarmerproducts.com/mother-of-all-blooms/

ps. funny sidenote I put in my 2cents about Moab before I even read scotts post. Try it . Legit

What kind of doses are you running that moab sov? (hydro?) Do you cut your base nutes at all to make room for the booster?

I have just about everything squared away (fulvic, silica, kelp...), besides a good booster. I had been talking to the hydro guys at the shop about MagPro, but they didn't have it in stock. So I just went down recently and they hooked me up with a handful of samples to run. (2-15-4) close enough right? ;-P

I am very curious about peoples results with/out boosters

You can also use moab in weeks 1&2 as a flower initiator. I was told by the Mad Farmer reps two years ago and been rocking it ever since.

I rocked MOAB in my last grow. Organics but I want'ed to try a bloom booster. I used it at the start of 12/12 and burned the shit out of my girls. Definatley cut back if not feed alone.

Rep, kick ass every time, love da grows mon!
Thanks bro...this will be a big one yield wise hopefully.

I have it and have used it before. So I figure moab is like cyco's "swell". I still need something like/or the potash.
I have used shooting powder too...won't burn pants...they just never want to finish and keep "shooting" new growth. Shooting powder is a GR(growth regulator) where moab is high feed...that's the big difference.

I did that in my last run. I think in a actual hydro setup it will work better for me. I will probably not use it at the flip...just for a finish booster.

you do know bloom boosters don't do shit. Npk numbers dont mean much either. They are all hype perpetrated by the nutrient companies and hydro shops. Kelp meal would do a better job than any bloom booster. You just want a nutrient accumulater . Less is more.

Which is why I am an organic guy. But in a DWC system organics are not the way to go. Although I have thought about using maxsea. It rocks outdoors, and says it can be used in any hydro system. Kind of the best of both worlds. What do you know/think on that?

This is my organic bloom booster
IMG_2712.jpgIMG_2713.jpgIMG_2714.jpg

My nutrient stash. Synthetics left side, organics right.
IMG_2716.jpg

Unless it is a whole different animal as far as yield...I will be back to all organics after this bucket test.

But 8 DWC plants sure would be easier manage than the sea of soil.

For dwc, I would rock botanicare pure blend grow, bloom, and liquid karma and pure blend tea

I feel ya on the organics. It's just one test bucket so I will probably try and stick with what I have for the most part.

But I seriously am considering maxsea(still have some). I would just need to add Mg. The shit was seriously great and if if will work in the bucket...then I'm sold.

I was in the area today so I stopped by the apache warehouse. I haven't been to this new facility and it is really nice. They have a great testing camber and will eventually get some vegetables and greens growing in there. And some aquatic plants. It will be a really great display of normal crops and such under all the lights.

Speaking of lights...they had all the proto's/versions/everything they have done. I got some pics...

The official at600(wider spacing than mine) and a passively cooled "zeplin" in the back.
IMG_0602.jpg

Here is an air cooled zeplin. I was getting great µmols measurement on this and spread was good too. 3 over a 4x4 would be killer.
IMG_0603.jpg

IMG_0604.jpg

IMG_0605.jpg

The 600L. This thin actually covers a 4x4 really well. It's 4ft long so obviously the long way it's great. But it was hitting 300µmols at the 4x4 mark on the narrow side. Not sure how high it was...at least 36". In a greenhouse this would be more suitable than the normal one because it won't block as much sun. since it could/would be hung on a beam or strut that blocks lights anyways. Never thought about it, but makes sense.
IMG_0606.jpg

AT200...but I have never seen or even heard of the black housing. They said it was for the aquarium industry so it will blend in and look like part of the tank more. I think it looks sick, I wish mine were black.
IMG_0607.jpg

AT600 over the north american hydro setup. Personally the at600L would fit like tits in my hands over this.
IMG_0610.jpg

IMG_0611.jpg

So I found out today that they have WW(3000K),NW(5000k), the CW(6200K) and they have 2 footers tubes now.

All CW's except for 3rd from the right...it's a WW. The 2nd from the right is a tester CW that they didn't pick. The rest are the keeper CW's.
IMG_0612.jpg

Same fixture as above...they are a few of different models/versions from when they were testing different ones. The 3 row ones are/were the winners for CW.
IMG_0609.jpg
They said that all red, all blue, and white/red(R1&R2's) are in plans. Not sure on the progress of those(as we know, they can take a little time with new products).
