Blackberry Harvest
Day 37

50% white trichs :50% purple, red, brown trichs.
95% brown hairs and dying leaves.

Between 1/2 and 3/4 oz.
One of my smallest plants.

It looks mature right?
Is a half ounce normal? it does look amazing. But it wont weigh much.
I have other strains needing another 3 weeks at least but this run was less then perfect.

The root aphids are the devil.
Lesson learned.

Shame too. This grow had huge potential.
Biggest mistake. Ignoring bugs in the dirt because I was "organic"
I actually thought they where good and part of the food web.
They where. The part that includes eating my plant.

I am 100% confident that this is root aphid damage.
Once the plant stops growing new roots the root aphid will win.
All the plant has left is its leaves to eat. Those are almost entirely consumed by now at week 5-6.
I looks like a lock on all nutrients.

I was fooled. I thought root aphid didnt mean bud aphid. But they like bud too.
The aphid flies will start to crawl in. Shit is coming down quick.

PS. With all these views I hope someone learns from my mistake. Plants are not cheap. Don't fuck around!

What I learned this year. Worms eat weed. Deer eat weed. Pestisides like Durban will make grape ape Taste like piss.

What's the easiest way to clone? What's your opinion on seeds. I don't know any other growers, I live in the country. South Carolina

I think I am going to need seeds. Too afraid to take a clone now.
Cloning is easy.

Clean sharp knife or razor.
Cut off strong growth tip.
Trim off extra leaves.
Put in high humidity environment for a week or two.
Easiest method?
A cup of water.
second easiest method.
Get a tray with dome and cubes or plugs.

I checked them really good today.
They have lost about 50% of their leaves.
The rest are pretty damn yellow.
They are growing though. SLOWLY.
The colder temps and higher humidity has kept the bugs away better than the weak pesticides.
The bugs are less then 10% what they where a couple weeks ago. temps under and around 60's and 70's Humidity just dropped to 35. Big plus.
I stopped spraying after week 4.
The use way less water. I am going to shoot for a 25% feeding.
I turned off the blue cfls and reduced the day cycle by one hour.

The blackberry dried into the smallest amount of bud off a plant I have ever seen.
It smells like just like the blueberry tasty puff that I smelled on weed when I was a kid.
Blueberry muffins. Seriously. Just bums me out more. LOL.
Such a small plant and it matured so quick. Not sure if that was due to stress?
It isnt seeded.

I'll keep on working on it. Try and take one plant at a time as they get better trics.
I'm seeing 50/50 clear cloudy on the remaining 6 plants.
The flying COKSUKURS have left the buds for now too.
That was the scariest part. Didnt want bugs in the nugs.

Hey black recluse. I almost ordered blackberry, or black jack. I am ordering seeds today. Will feminized just be the same as reg seeds ( only girls)? Wouldn't it be better to get non and just cut down the plants with balls lol...or do feminized just grow right into flower? With fem seeds can you veg long? There is a guy her"e nevada"who used 12-12 from seed to smoke. His shat looks killer. I will sacrifice a bit of weight for dankosity! Wonder woman? Ice straines, I love jock but it's hard to grow. Jack herrer was a smart man. Strawberry caugh is apparently nice have you had it? I'm do you know about the for stages. I want cloudy and manner. Only tricks I want clear are the shaft.
If I get auto do you start at 12 hours

Personally if I bought seeds I would go with normal.
No autos or feminized.
I would treat each one like a mother and clone them like mad.
I would then use the clones to determine sex.
Seeds are not very consistent. The trick is finding the right pheno-type in a female.
Then clone away. Cloning is simple. Simpler the better.
This will keep a mother in permanent veg. preventing hermaphrodites and other problems with reverting back to veg.
