Am an experienced grower in soil but trying to go to hydro,Built a 4 rail system holds 30 plants and 15 gal reservoir.
set it up and using aqua shield and FF nutes. within 24 hrs it smells like dirty fish tank, cleaned real well and changed everything out, within
24 hrs it was worse than b4 thinking of taking all these and transplanting to soil unless someone can give me an idea on how to fix this.I do know
the temps hit 84 at one point, also aqua shield was used at 3 ts per gal as instructed,FF nutes were added to proper ppm had ph level set at 6.0
(which rose over night to 8.0) and system and res.is light proof Thanks in advance for help or atleast let me know the proper place on here to post/get help.

What's the rez temp? 84 is kinda high.. Also never tried FF in hydro... but GH and some h202 has never failed me! It's pretty solid for newbs... Add some dynagro protect and that will help stabilize your ph. Again no experience with FF. But those 3 things work great for me. I've had my rez as high as 74 with no problems

Need to get the rez temp down. Agitation, oxygen, temperature and darkness are of the utmost for a happy rez. things get sour at that temp pretty quick.

the formula for H2O2 is two parts two parts hydrogen and two parts oxygen.

you want to get some 29% or 30%, I run it at 15 ml in a 6 gallon res.

drug store peroxide has other stuff in it, I do use it for cleaning.

when the funds are there and i do some more recon work on hydro.

Of course you can transplant them. Just put your whole net in your new medium. Couple questions.
Are you aerating? Can you cycle the pump to reduce heat? Can you move the pump out of the res?

You can make a cooling system with a pump, a few coils of abs and some ice water in a cooler. Just run the tubing in your res, and pump cold water through it.

what is the formula for h202 3% do you know for res.and thank you n d

I use 29% H202 at 3ml/gal... 3% is a waste imo... not sure if it will help with FF, it can eat some bennys up. This is based on GH nutes, hope that helps.... I use 90ml every 3 days for 30gal rez

Yea I agree with aerating, I actually just run a pump to circulate the water 24/7 forgot to mention that.

just not sure if temps are the problem not all that experienced with hydro other than cloning but thanks for those ideas

and yes at the moment i have 2 small wallyworld air pumps with 4 stones i believe this would be sufficient
I find that usuing a pump to recirculate vs running running stones works better for me. You need to look at your roots, smell usually equals slime. If you got slime you need to run 10-15 ml of H202. I use 3ml as a preventive.

Running a pump puts a ton of heat into the res and unless u are prepared to battle that go with the air pump and stones, they work fine.

+1 on the temp issue, 84 and the nasties are gonna love it. You can use an inline pump to keep it out of the res and stop it from heating the nutes and definately brew up some of that tea if you cant get the res down to 70 degrees.
