wierd shit with hijack

Pleased to hear your plant is doing so much better.
I decided she should have a name
how about ..... fanny??? thats a good name
considering everything...

I will consider it if she does indeed turn out to be a female MrsMcgreggor, but I usually wait to see the sex of my plants before giving them names. Otherwise I end up with males with girl names on their pots for another 2 months during flowering and I keep the males for breeding. lol

On the other hand as well though, I do need a name for this one. It has just showed its first lady pistils yesterday but they were a bit small to make sure, they developed a lot last night though, and Im positive that she is actually a she now and its not wishful thinking anymore:mrgreen:
She also happened to be my only Indica pheno Hijack plant that Ive gotten so far out of 5 good babies I have. (these two are also the largest so far as well)
I am blessed:mrgreen::twisted::hump:

Just curious, earlier on you said you were using backing soda to lower pH right? Does that not raise pH and make more alkaline or have I just gotten mixed up?

you never saw pre flowers??????

Not till I started putting her in the hole. I inspected her daily any yesterday was the first day Ive seen a single pistil. Plant is only about 12-16 inches tall so Im not wasnt expecting any natural occurring preflowers for quite some time. I really just wanted to know if it was a female so I could clone it and get some more indica dominant babies started, even if they dont have a full grow season to veg before they flower They should considerably add to the total yield of my indica plants this year. Especially since this is the only one i have. Lol.

If this raft pollen I have in the freezer is still any good then Ill sprinkle it on a couple buds of this plant to make indica dominant seed for next year. Its offspring may be late finishers because of the raft traits but it will be more potent than bagseed and they will be indicas.:-| (they help my nerve condition more than the sativas do)

i always see pre flowers starting at the 8th node once they get 12 nodes tall.

the raft likes to hermy. careful breeding it. just so you know. :blsmoke:

I could have it backwards but I am quite certain that baking soda is a base and counteracts acids. Whenever my ph is in the 6.0 area I use about half a tea spoon full per gallon of water to bring it to 6.5 or a full spoon full to bring it to 7.0.:-| Always test ph after adjusting though and dont quote me on those measurements as I usually just eyeball it and it comes out ok.

I may have the terminology backwards but you should be able to understand what I use it for with that explanation

well that would be awesome. If this huge male I have hermied then I would be able to make seed with the female flower. I can pretty easily crossbreed hermie traits out by crossbreeding it to something stable several times. Since my buddy ios the one working with the plant and hes doing the indoor shit then Ill leave that to him since thats where the strain is good @.
But thanks for the warning as well.

I wouldnt rely soley on those seeds, now that I know this plant is female Ill be letting someone In a nearby town hold a mom for me of it. That way I can get about 20 clones from it @ the beginning of next year.
Be on the look out for that guerrilla grow next year as well, youll probablly enjoy that one.;)

i was kidding about the PH. i think it's just a "flaw" and it will grow out of and be just fine. could have been sun burnt. could have been a little shock. could have been several things. at this point i think doing any more will just cause new problems. it's a very hardy strain. :)

just listen to him!!!!! :blsmoke::mrgreen:

Hey Fdd this is an excellent example of how a plant looks when they get the wrong food. You should add this "plant problem" to the grow faqs section so other growers can make a diagnoses for their own plants.

The reason is that in the plant problems forum Ive seen several posts with pics showing this exact deformity on a young plant and the poster asking what the issue is. Your "experiment" has now, with scientific evidence, shown what causes deformed leaves.

Thanks for being our local mad scientist.:peace:

also its not that tall yet I dont think. I think it is 8 nodes tall now. I try to make them start to bush out around there. From here it should be clear flying for that one. Itll be repotted soon as well now that I know its a fem. I plan on moving the males to a different area so I have to sex them first before repotting again.

I listen to him and the plants. Plants speak better than anyone in the world can. They know what they need better than anyone in the world. We just have to be able to decipher it.
But we also gotta listen to the wisdom of others that have already have learned the lessons too.

Perfectly fine babe. Teaching other folks is never wrong on any thread specially mine:mrgreen:

ph is somewhere betweeen 6.5 and 7.0 although I try to keep it @ 6.8.
I started using baking soda to lower my ph recentlly instead of ph down and its been working fine. I think if that were a factor then the smaller plants I have and seedlings would have been hit with these symptoms first.
I have not yet read all seven pages of this thread (how come no one answers my threads..? Whine, bitch, cry, moan... ), but I felt it important to correct this bit about the pH. Baking soda is alkaline or base, that is to say that it brings the pH UP, not down. It will make the pH of whatever you put it in more base or alkaline as well.

Thanks sea madien I realized that this evening when I got to the petstore. I had it backwards when I typed that. The petstore folks called me to let me know my ph up and ph down were in.
Also picked up a ferret for my roomate. Im getting one as well on next Thursday:mrgreen:

And I did no whining bitching or moaning of any sort on this thread Seamadien, as nor Did I have any problem getting people to respond to it. Whats up with your comment, was that directed to me or users with plant problems in general?

Oh man.. here comes trouble! Cute, but oh what a pain they can be.

Hold up, you did no bitching, but I sure did. ;) I start threads asking very specific questions and often get absolutely no response. I assume that it's because of something such as the way I've asked the question, or the question itself. Maybe they just don't know, I do not know. But, I whine, bitch and moan, then laugh about it. :-P

Nah If I were gonna do any bitching it woulda been @ the people who asked questions that I had answered several times before they asked. But I mean what can I get I asked for help on a pothead website. lol
If you get a problem try shooting a few pms around to the folks you know that generally helps. I sent out about 4-5 pm's when I got this problem. Lots of people have dropped in as well.

I know ferrets can be a pain my exgirlfriend had a couple until she took one away with her for a vacation and while she was gone the one she left behind hung itself with a toy on the top of the cage. I had to remove the ferret, it was intentional on the ferrets part, thats the only way it could have twisted up that much.

The one that killed itself would take silver things and hiding it all among the house..... Its favorite spot to hide was inside a speaker box that was a pain in the ass to take apart.

yep - for tricky questions - some PMs help a lot - that gets folks hitting the thread which bumps it up.
