just started wk 8 of flower..few questions

Hi people,

just started wk 8 as the title says (idiot), i would say 50% of the white hairs are now brown, how long do u think i have left?

pics to come.
 
you can prolly wack those sweet bitches down whenever. do you have a microscope to check the trichomes? it would also depend on the strain. you can take sample and dry them in the oven on low (try not to let them get above 80-90 deg if you can help it )and see if they are potent enough for you
 
At least a couple of weeks, unless you can verify that the gland-heads are approx. 1/2 amber (more than 1/2-narco-high . . . less than 1/2, "up" buzz)
Basing response on pistils description above.
 
check the trics with a scope 30x or more i personally pefer it when the trics are mostly cloudy and verry little amber. when trics turn amber your plant is actually losing its thc content med people say amber because it will be a more social buzz. but im a pothead so i want the most thc full body high and thats when they are mostly cloudy slightly amber hope this is of some help if you research this info you will see im 100%rite

they do mean something when they change color and curl back into the empty seed caylx your bud is getting ripe giving up on trying to find pollen.. but the correct method for determining when bud is ripe is by the trics.

dude,,,its not a one sided thing....sure trichs mean ur potency is there....but the hairs gives indication to ripeness..... I had milky white trichs a month before harvest....my bud was still not there....i bet u would have cut and had shitty nug

Im glad you mentioned this! I have some5 1/2 -6 ft tall sativas and I have no idea when to harvest these things. Meaning how will I know When these plants hve ruoughly 3 weeks until I would harvest? Ifeed my plants a hardener and a finalflush and Im not an experienced enough grower to be able to tell ahead of time when to start. made a thread abot it but got little info.
 
get a scope, check the trichomes, your the only one going to know when you want to harvest. Head High - Couch Lock, its your choice. I harvest around 60% amber.

your serioulsy dumb. Couch Lock = Social high, I dont think so.. amber is where its at. its not loosin potency. dont know who told you that. but yes eventually they will even turn black = dead. 60% amber for me to harvest

I have a 420 scope, but im fuckingcolor blind to this shit. Besides that my questin was how wll I know when these sativas will be about 3 weeks before harvest. I dont know what to look for to judge that soon.

Stop worring about trying to time your grow so you can flush or add other fancy sauce mixes,watch both the pistils & the trichomes,watching the pistils is as important as the trich's,they will tell you when its time to break out the microscope,dont even bother looking at the trich's until atleast 60% of the pistils have turned color,i dont even look at the trich's until im in the 80% range on the pistils then i take a peek,in my grows once the pistils reach around 80% red harvest will be within 1 week & at harvest the trichs will have a small amount of amber.

Worrying about flushing & additives will only fuk you up with your 1st grows,keep it simple,bag the idea of adding extras at the end of the grow & forget about extended flushing,both practices are highly debatable in their effect to final smoke quality,ive given up on flushing all together.

If you believe that flushing is a must for your grow by all means do it but wait until you have the desired trich color then do a quick flush.
 
cheers to you all for the info, its a bit difficult to decide which opinion to go with so i think i will wait until 70% - 80% of the pistols have changed colour then harvest.

i was on your side trying to agree with your point on pistils and add that trics are another method... and why would you say i would have picked it early and had bad nug??? you know nothing about me and obviously dont know when you see someone trying to share experience and knowledge.

im chill i just dont like being told im dumb when im right. i know alot about mj its one of the few things i do know alot about. if i were given the chance you would all see for yourselves that ill back up my words with pics or facts
