My doctor was strict and I couldn't be in the program if someone else was not holding for me in the beginning..this was the hardest part because I had to involve a family member.

My docs like that w most....he had enuf sense to recognize I was there for legitimate reasons and not just tryin to get a bunch of subs...I was very sick when I went...he tested me n saw I was clean n started me off at two weeks worth nxt appnt I got monthly scripts...he doesnt require NA meetings and hes never pissed me since that first day....my wife is involved I let her hold the script because a couple times ive taken too many thruout the month leaving myself short end of month which really fkn sux...so for her peace of mind I let her lay two strips out for me every mrng n hide the rest....ive not used dope since ive been there but I do like double dosing my subs I wont lie....im more addicted to subs than I ever was dope.
I started with 4mg and the plan was off in a month..it took three..there comes a time where it's psychological. I'm glad your wife handles your meds..sucks running out of that, right? when you start to taper you will go through mild WD ie; little sweaty and such, but very doable..expect this..

Oh they can quit. They just don't want to face w/d. They'll do it "tomorrow" because they have something that they need to do and not be sick etc... It's hard, but it's not life threatening. PAWS can be a bitch too. It's gotta be a lot harder for people with chronic pain. Some are better off staying on
Some random thing I noticed after getting off opiates is that your sex drive skyrockets, and you can't last more than a few minutes lol

the doctor can un-stick them quite easily if they are tapering properly..he writes LESS of a REFILL..subs is meant to springboard you off..not maintenance..again are your gonna feel a little discomfort..yes, however they will be minimal especially compared to what you and I know it can be..imo

But when she pukes and sweats non stop for a week and some times two weeks they put her back on it and she is fine.
I only have a sex drive if I am on them.
I only feel good if i am on them.
I only take care of my house if i am on them.
I only am happy on them.
I only have energy if I am on them.
Yet I have not used them in a year in a half.
Yes my house is a mess now.

I learned how to do it.
I throw it all away and buy new every few weeks.
About a month ago I got 10 5mg norco.
And when i REALLY need to clean my house or something, I get one or two from my friend.
I bet I have had 30 in 18 months. That includes 4 root canals I had done.
I went back and looked at her emails. I had it wrong, she is stuck on .5mg. Sorry for the error.
I throw it all away and buy new every few weeks.

I did not use them to get high, I used them to take the edge off.
As soon as I take one, 13 minutes later I can feel the heat in my stomach. If I take a oxycodone i can feel the heat in 11 minutes.
The best is a 10mg dilaudid injection. Makes your heart really feel ... great?
I was on a dilaudid drip for 3 months in the ICU. I was on pain meds from 17 - 29. Like I said. I am clean but my quality of life sucks. But could be worse, I am better now then I was 8 months ago.

I been on the gear sonce I was 18 and switching between subox and methadone since I was 19. Im 24 now. I am still using...Actually used last night but I also cant seem to drop between 6mg/8mg! It just DOESNT hold me for the whole day, I get anxiety and I cant sleep. I tried sticking on 6mg for a few months but still couldnt drop. The using in between would not help at all but its starting to feel like the suboxone is more of a trap than the actual gear.

The key will be very, very small increment taper down..you kind of have to work at it a bit..to where you find an increment level that's tolerable for you..as you taper, it may become more challenging but you have to give your self time to adjust to the new dose or it won't work..you can't keep turning back because you can "feel the difference"..you drop your .50 or .25 and give yourself time..you get past it and then realize it wasn't all that bad and now you're on the lesser amount and you're proud of yourself for doing it..I was also taking gabapentin, valium for sleep, wellbutrin to cut crave.
Ed has a taper schedule that works like a charm if you follow..

The internet has now eaten what I wanted to be my first post in this thread twice. Sorry for not chiming in earlier. Former g/day+ oxy user and brick/day+ dope shooter. In the last year I've done about 20mg of heroin and had ~100 Vicodin 5/500s that I shared with my wife for legit chronic pain. After my dr feelgood lost his lisence I was left high and fry and needed to figure out a transfer from a legit almost g/day OC script with no warning. Ended up on bupe fior a year or so before kicking the pharms. Sorry I can't make a multibillion dollar industry out of it. Fuck 'em if they didn't sell high!!

I am working with them again, I should know more by next friday I am hoping. The best feeling in my life was a 50mg boost of Lidocaine and a 250mg follow over a 1 hour time.
You feel like a million bucks.
Only last a few hours

I never got hooked on opioids bad, but my brother is recovering. He straight up shopped around for doctors for Kpins and Opioids back in highschool. He was real bad off on only pills from the age of 17-20, then it got worse. Met a doctor who used/ sold and he taught my brother how to shoot up. It sucked, because I'm a type 1 Diabetic and he would steal my insulin syringes.
Multiple close call ODs, multiple robbings, multiple tickets/ arrest. He got arrested with 80 xanax bars and 60 percs, plus a hand gun. Luckily our dad had recently did a good bit of work for the DA just before this so he never did any major time.
He finally decided he wanted treatment. I think it was the constant neglect from everyone. No one wanted to talk to him anymore because of how he always was... Never would remember shit, always zombed out, mood swings, no job, constantly stealing and lieing.
He did the methadone clinic for about a year now, and finally is to the point where he is weening himself off since they dont want to ($$). He's down to 6mgs, which is almost pointless to even be on from my understanding. He still goes to help with the anxiety and cold sweats.
I seriously would have never thought MY brother, would go through a drug problem that bad. I could seriously write a book about the past 6 years
