Indoor update Day 41 (yesterday) The day before these photos I gave them the 3rd installment of Cha-Ching, I swear that the buds fattened overnight. As you notice it's 6 wks in and there isn't a single colored hair, and no sign of late maturity. It's going to be 10+ wks for sure. I put in my 2 support wires, they are 3' above the bucket tops. It doesn't look like much but I can reach out or down and support almost anywhere.

Wow, man.. Those are some long-ass spears. Love it. I want to see this strain mainlined out to 32 or so, that could really cut down the height while still having long colas..

Thanks Hoc. The clones were symmetrical at the 1st topping but have gotten some offset in the new nodes already, I'll still go for 4 with the clones. Don't think I'll have the time to go for 8. But I believe you're right the Bay 11 would work well for a 16+ ML if given the time.

Man Watts those are looking outstanding for 6 weeks. I would definitely agree with you, those girls are gonna take their time to finish. Can't wait to watch them swell up.

Watt wow those are nice, that one cola has to be 2 feet long? wait till they fatten up?
Thank you

I too have to say "Those spears are really looking good", and they have already swelled better than I had expected, I've grown some wispy saliva's in the past.

I think a lot has to do with genetics. Ken Estes the creator of Grand Daddy Purple, & this is his only heavy sativa strain. I try to stick to breeders that work on new things and take their time doing it. Not the companies that try to get their version of whatever is hot out as fast as they can. Ken's only has about 8 strains and he's been at it for nearly 40 yrs. Mandala is another old school breeder, that takes the time to release true IBL strains. TGA has some great genetics, but you can get from 3 to 6 different phenos within a strain. It would be nice if subcool would take the time to do some pheno separation and do some back cross work to narrow down the variance.

Enough of the soap box. I do have several freebies from those hasty breeders that I will most likely grow in the future ....:hump:

Watt not trying to steal you thunder or anything my friend? but I was thinking of specializing my grow and just growing something manageable...But I see what everyone keeps trying, isn't it better to get 1strain dialed in and perfected? or u just like trying the different ones?

WC you've found the secret to productive grows. Find something that works with the conditions you have, and run it again, & again. You will find that you can improve every time. The problem is that we want to taste different things all the time.

The Bay 11 is new for me, but it will be in my next 2 grows at least. If it turns out to be stellar then I may have one in every grow for the next yr maybe more.

I just wish I had the space to keep all the clones I wanted. To find out how they smoked several months after they were harvested.

I guess as I get better at this I may have some Taste at some time and be able to tell...

I'm finally tapping into jars I sealed when he passed...3 1/2 months ago...

OH yes and I'm liking it....

I'm totally guilty of the "variety is the spice of life" way of thinking...I want to try everything out there and occasionally hook into something "too tall"....and only once "too short". One day I'll revisit some of the finer strains I've grown, but until them, I'm "in search of" that perfect buzz....that fits my chemistry.

Update time. 8/2 day46 for the Bay 11. I had to play puppet master, to support the spears, there are only a couple without support but they are still standing real straight. I thinned out the veg box and threw out 2 clones, I have such a hard time doing that. Gave the rest of the B 11 clones their 2nd topping. Also had to do some more bondage to the Maui mom.

(8/3 Day 67) The Green Poison auto has the ugliest bud structure, it looks light ditch weed, but smells much better than DW. The frost is mostly cloudy, and some of the leaf is turning purple, most likely due to the temps at night (low 50's). This is going to be her last wk, chop will be next fri or sat.

8/3 Day 18 PE autos 2nd attempt. Transplanted 2 of the soil solo cups into 2gal perlite hempys. I did put a 1/2" layer of soil over the bottom several inches of perlite, and added a pinch of Piranha & Tarantula for some bennie microbes. So different approach this time, smaller bucket, perlite not coco for better drainage, and no CRF's.

I almost forgot. Yesterday I also planted the last 5 Bay 11 seeds. I want to do my seed makin' this next run. I figure I have 3 full wks till the currents are finished, and then I'll transplant the clones into buckets and veg for another wk under the big light, to allow the roots to hit bottom. So that's 4wks & being a 10 wk strain I can't let them veg for an additional wk if needed. So I'll be flipping them young, and that's okay with me, a small dude will still make baby's. If there are any girls, I'll pick the nicest one put it back in veg and do some serious main lining. There better be at least 1 male in these last 5 beans.
