Greetings all, it's so good to find another site with so much info. Ever since OG i've been a reader, now it's time for action. Ok, here's the deal i found these two beauties hidding behind some grass outside, strictly bagseed, i dont have alot of money for expensive lights so i'm going to do CFL's (6500 lumens right??), dirt im just using plain old dirt from outside, i got a bottle of nutes ( Vigora 10-10-10), built my own box, now i just need to know about the light situation. I have some pictures of everything i got including plants ( the are both in the same pot cause that's how i found them) , the fan, the light bulb (that doesn't work for some reason in the socket) and also my grow box. Any questions, comments, or advice let me know.. especially what stage are they in, I think they are both females no nuts on them so far.

Spare a couple of words for this long time reader, full-time smoker.:blsmoke:

somebody is going to be missing their plants, but their looking good. Has bringing them from the outside to inside effected them at all?

Hey bro, i've heard that using dirt from outside is a bad idea becasue you can get bugs and shit in your house from that, a bag of sterilized soil is only like 2 or 3 bucks, don't be such a cheapskate. Just trying to warn ya. Also, that light you have is not realy gonna be enough, for 2 plants your gonna want at LEAST 3 of those, if your looking to save money you can make your own reflector using a smallecardboard box with the inside painted with flat white paint. eithier pick up a couple light sockets at the store or take apart some old lamps and wire it up, just cut holes in the sides of the box to push the sockets thru, thats what i did my first grow and it worked pretty good, i used 4 23 watt cfl's for 1 plant. light is key, the more light, the more yield you will get from your plant. Right now i have a 2' t5 high output flourecent fixture, its 108 watts and puts out 10,000 lumens, and im only growing one plant. You got to realize your gonna have to shell out some cash to get some good lights but they will end up paying for themselves many times over. Here is a link to the light I have, its the best flourecent you can get for growing in my opinion and its not that expensive. Hope this helps. http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=51907

by the way your plants are still in the veg stage, you should be using 18/6 lighting right now, 18 hours on, 6 hours off, since your using flouros, wait till they are about 12 inches tall then cut the top off about a quarter inch above the node you want to keep, then change the light to 12/12 in a week or so it should start to show its sex and then begin to flower. this is what i did and it turned out pretty good, you end up getting 2 top colas this way and you keep the plant size small, flouros dont penetrate as well as mh or hps so if they are too tall the bottom of the plant wont be getting adequate lighting.

bringing them inside hasn't hurt them it actually helped them out i tied them down a lil and woke up this morning and they had already bent up
those lights i pictured earlier didnt fit so i took them back and new ones
thx every1 for the comments
the ground dirt is cool i flushed it a couple of times added some MG 24-8-16 before transplant
did some home depot shopping today
1 - 150w 26k lumens soft white
2 - 100w 16k lumens soft white
2 - 100w 13k lumens day light white

rig 26k + 26k + 16k = 68k

painted my box flat white on inside
dim. 2ft wide and 4ft high and the hole in the bottom to drop the plant about a foot or so.

pics below

P.S
when should i add the Vigora 10-10-10

I got a question about the lights. When you say you have 26K, 16K, and 13K wut is the K standing for? I am going to start a rubbermaid setup with some cfls and just wondering wut u were talking about. Cause I know about the color temps like 6500K and 2700K for daylight and soft light.

K = 100
26k = 26 x 100 = 2600 thats all
i saw someone else post like that
K=1000, not 100

so you have 2600 lumens total

the 'ideal' lumens for a grow is 10,000 per square foot, so....while you will be able to successfully flower with what you have, you'd get more bang by ordering some larger bulbs online. I've got a few 105watt CFL's (freaking HUMONGOUS bulbs) that put out 6900 lumens apiece in roughly the same size as you. check out www.buylighting.com or www.1000bulbs.com. they're not cheap...but I couldnt find them in stores locally, and it's probably worth it for the extra lumens.

anyways, good luck!

damn thats right, well all i know is that total lumens after adding each one up equals 6800 might throw in the extra bulb later or start another lil box with it but i looked at those bulbs may have to snatch up one of those babies. switch some things around. I'll try on second grow this is the first one and half was done for free so... but good looking though

do you have four or five bulbs? you listed five, but there are only four in the picture.

also, make sure you realize that the wattage you are listing isnt exactly accurate, you're using the "incandescent equivalent" wattage. the actual wattage for the "150w" is 42 watts of ACTUAL power used, and it puts out the same amount of light as a 150 watt incandescent bulb. hope that clears things up.

whoops, missed your last post. ok....well definitely add the new bulb. get all the lumens in there you can.

that would be...

2600 + 3200 + 2600 = 8,400 lumens.

i'm going to do CFL's (6500 lumens right??)
I am using 6x23 watt (100 watt replacement) blue (daylight) CFL's for veg and 6 of the same but 'interior' (red) for flowering and it's working really well, you need to keep the CFL's within 1-3 inches of the plants though (and I mean it, you really, really have to keep them that close at all times) and use mylar (I used potato chip bags) as a reflector.

You can see my grow journal here, what you are wanting is what I am doing (successfully so far :mrgreen: knock on wood )

https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/69259-my-hempy-top-44-cfl.html

Was that a guess on bagseed, if you found them? They are growing pretty damn low for plants grown outside in shade.

ok so i will add the other light i guess another trip to home depot might even buy another soft white (1600 lumens) that way its an even 10,000 lumens. I was thinking about chip bags cause i got some big ones at work and iwas going to line the bottom cause the light reaches everywhere here are a few updated pics i think one of my plants got a lil burned but other than that they are doing great, since i found these outside how long should i veg??? i watered today with MG (24-8-16) about 1 tsp and a lil vigora (10-10-10) about 1tbsp and then a lil clean water about a 2liter of each. the food was mixed in one two liter diluted with water another 1 and half of regular just to make i wasnt over fertin them.

thanks every1

also they were in the sun outside looked like a good spot where i found them

also two of the pictures are of the tops of them where the sex shows but they arent that clear.:blsmoke:
