Alright so I go in to take pictures with my new camera and I think this thing is too good. I have a picture that makes me think my plant is starting to flower? Im not totally sure, the new growth just looks like it does when it begins to flower. Check this shit out. Also how do they look? Anyone know the cause of the browning on the one plant?

Yea, been keeping it around 5.8 to 6. Not sure why the browning is occurring The only thing different between the two plants is that one is closer to the humidifier. Maybe there a slight misting going on burning the leaves? Weird thing about that is not all leaves are affected and there select throughout the plant, top growth and new vegetation is not affected.

it looks like nute burn but she is over it and starting to look good, why are you on 20/4 and not 18/6?

you can take off the burnt one's now as they are sucking energy out of your plant and give her a little lollipop

20/4 is fine, imo when you flip to 12/12 it shows budsites quicker from 20/4 than 18/6

No reason is particular, mainly because I was on 24/0 and wanted to step down gradually, then into flower. I also wanted to try and keep her shorter. But Im not big into clipping my plants (mainly because I never have). Would it be beneficial to do so, I would just clip those dead leaves I would assume?

no 18/6 you will get more growth and flipping will flower just the same

anaw, imo 20/4 works fine. I've done it before with no problems. And I know Uncle Ben recommends the same thing

That's what I'm running now and I think its perfect for what I want. Short bushy plants with many nodes and not as much height. It will gain a lot of height during flower and will have more budsites with more nodes on 20/4. I think I am getting the most out of my plant without stressing her too much by changing her light schedule drastically.

24 hour light cycle does NOT stress your plant as its natural in some parts of the globe ALASKA is one, they have 24 hour light then the same for darkness at different time of the year. 24 hour lights in veg intices faster growth, they dont need rest during veg, some will diagree, i have proved it beyond doubt that it works, then straight to 12/12 i get flowering sites in a week to 10 days after.S i see NO flowers on your plant yet, looks great tho!!!!!!!!!!

if 24 hour light were gonna stress the plants in an indoor grow, how many watts is the sun and why arent the stresse outside, the only thing stressful with 24 hour lights is the electric bill LOL!!!!!!!!

yes it is about to flower. or so it seems, when a flower comes out it starts as a bunch of leaves like any flowers pedals and just open up. i say this because my DP is doing the same thing. cluster of leaves and then a stretch till it opens.

I see clear sign of heat stress in those pics! Are you moving a lot of air in there and how close are your lights?

Hmm, how do they look, not to shabby for keeping them water and trying to maintain a hydro reservoir. Personally I don't see why anyone really bothers with the extra time and care it takes to maintain a one, especially when your plant will react quickly to any abnormalities. These fluxes in my opinion from what I have seen and experienced slows growth so any gain hoped to be obtained by growing in hydro over soil typically nullified, especially for the inexperienced grower.

I am not against hydro, for the grower who has experience and wants to have an orchestral hand over all biological input the plant in hopes of formulating the final output, more power to you. But pound per pound soil can produce just as well if not better without greater possibility for setbacks, failures and all the extra work, bells and whistles to play with. Meaning our lovely ladies left to grow themselves in soil can stand node to node, bud to bud against anything in hydro, IMHO.

5 Weeks in soil, I will venture to say she is a little more bushy and a lot less stressed, you can see that by looking at her... she is one happy dirt camper!

Its not a pissing contest bro, with that being said nice looking plants. Let it be clear though that the problems I experienced was not from growing in a hydro, but from my inexperience. Whether I yield half a pound or nothing, the experience and knowledge I have gained through my first grow is good enough. And through the deficiency, nute burn, high temps and stunted growth I have come out with two respectable plants. With that being said, I just fimmed and lollipopped one of my plants what do you guys think?

How about the heat source only being 14 inches away with a tube that's about 3000 degrees Fahrenheit. Putting off 200 degree air. If that isnt enough the fact that the plant gets accustomed to certain schedules you put it in. Changing the plants schedule every week stresses the plant out. The more dramatic of the shift such as 24/0 to 12/12 compared to 18/6 to 12/12 will put more stress on the plants as well. Not saying that it doesn't work, but I think its easier on the plant switching from 18/6

1. How many people grow weed in alaska? Outdoors, none, Indoors few.
2. Never did I say the 24 hour light cycle will stress them, rather that switching from 24/0 to 12/12 is more stressful then switching from 18/6.
3. Appreciate the response and your help, I agree that 24 hours makes them veg and grow quicker. I had my plant on that for the first 3 weeks. Just recently switched to 20/4 because as recently stated I want to gradually shift them into flower.
