World Of Hempy

Well I have been gathering some info and coming up with some new grow ideas for my space. I think I am going to try and hempy style vertical scrog or sog. Not sure yet depending on how many plants I want to go with.

I just wanted to add I ran AN nutes and it always did keep my ph in swing I just wasn't impressed with how much you had to use to get the desired ppm you were looking for.

I am trying Dyna-grow right now and I have to add some cal-mag because they were lacking it. That could be because they are just sucking it all up and its the strain or its the Dyna lacking in cal-mag which Ive heard a few say. But no biggy. For the money so far its working well for me. I just keep hearing about CNS-17 from Botanicare I believe and I am curious to try it as well.

Any hydro nutes will work well with coco fiber...but I've had very good results using the CNS17 line. It has enough calcium/magnesium to support the plants with no additional additives and is relatively inexpensive. Using RO water and CNS17 means never having to check pH again, dead on @ 5.8 for Grow, 6.1 for Ripe. Every time...ain't used my pH meter in over a year.
.
Hey Feroce, My hydro store has the CNS17 Nutes. It looks like they have Grow, Bloom and Ripe Bottles.. What's the scoop about what we should be using and how? Are these Single Parts or Do you Mix them?

The CNS17 line are all single parts. After fooling around for a couple of years, my nute regime is pretty simple. I use the Grow (3-1-2) formula throughout veg and halfway into flower. At that point I switch to the Ripe (1-5-4) formula and gradually taper off the amount I feed until a clear water flush as the last watering. You will find in coco that the plants will respond very quickly to nute changes, so be prepared for the plants to start going yellow very soon after the switch. Amounts...most strains are happy with half a shot glass per gallon of water, it provides a good starting point until you find exactly what your plants want.

I feed with every watering, and I water when the coco on the top of the container looks dry. I make sure to get some runoff every time I water, otherwise salt buildup can occur.

The only other additive I use is an eyedropper of Protekt per gallon throughout veg and the first 2 weeks of flower, discontinue after that.

Happy New Years WOH! I just ordered some new nutes and I'm excited to try them next run. I'm using heavy 16 right now. The heavy 16s are pretty pricey but that's what the guy at the hydro shop said was the best. (setting up my first grow) They seem to be doing ok but I'm thinking ahead. I only have small bottles and don't wanna spend a small fortune to resupply. I ordered Blue Planet Nutrients 3 part Elite pus their Liquud Blue. Only came to $58! I saw a thread done using BPN and it looked amazing! Check em out and see what you guys think. Anyone tried them? Good or bad experiences?

Happy New Years to those of you on the east side of the pond.

Plushberry is most impressive. Wish I didn't have the work I started, and could divert.

jella--- Great yr in review. I'm going to try and put one together on the marrow.

I've got a little over 2hrs to go until the new yr.. Got some good tunes cranked up (currently - Reconstruction 6/22/79 @ Keystone) and a big spliff ready to take back to the crowd.

Happy New Years WOH!!!!

Edit: If you Know the band I'll find a way to get you a copy.

My BF Bluecheese beans popped up out of the rapid rooter last night... what timing for the new year. Couldn't have done that on purpose if I wanted to. Too bad the White Cheese Auto mutated and opened cotyledons down in the hole with only a nub for a tap root. A G13 Auto Blueberry bean took it's place. The auto will be a good test drive for the 1/4" cubed rockwool medium.

I recently moved my DIY Aero-cloner into my kitchen and put it under my oak table. .... The glue sticking the internal curtain must have gone because its caused a leak, I thinks its been going a few days because my res was dry.

Its flooded the floor and the water didn't go anywhere on the granite floor tiles. Its completely screwed the legs of my table and i'm not H.A.P.P.Y ... Argggghh.. lol.

Well... Its 2013 and no point me getting upset but I do have to develop a way to clone without the spillage. I only did the aero-cloner thing to emulate '420fied's perlite Hempy's. I may go back to regular propagation in rockwool or try a bubble system since I don't need the long roots anyways.

...for under $15.00 you should give this a try man, i promise it works like a charm and the learning curve is surprisingly shallow.

...and here's a shot of my first setup with these, note the light coming from below as that light is there to supply heat to warm the res, keeping your res at 80 to 82 degrees is one of the simple rules for success with these cloners, lol.

...once you understand those few simple rules this thing is so brain-dead easy it almost feels like cheating!

...oh yeah, AND being TOTALLY passive, there are no pumps to fail or sprayers to clog, ...it's damned near set-and-forget.

peace, bozo

Use a cooler for a res or a rough neck tote and you can get some rubber window seal or vinyl at lowes or hd and put it underneath the lid as a gasket. I like using a cooler because the top lids snaps in place and its pretty water tight. I need to build one again myself but Ive been using the roughneck tote like stink buds design for ever and built one real quick to get going again.

Funny thing...I was just over checking the "Coco Growers Unite" thread.....and man am I glad we @W.O.H. don't act like that. Ironical to the thread's name it's as if Jerry Springer invited coco growers to the stage. What a brawl...and over stuff like how often you "must" water and what nutrients you "must" use. Ironical there too....it's one of the most forgiving inert mediums you could use if you get it prepped correctly. That thread is 358 pages long...what a drag seeing it go down in flames like that.

Thanks for that Bozo.

Evidently, you're on a similar wavelength as I. ...... I'm considering your method (or similar) and yeah, I do want to go passive. Sick to death of clogged misters etc. .... its just that Aero's have worked so well thus far (minus the issues).

Ive got a large heated propagator, I'll give that a try for now because I need to take some clones now. ... I'm out of practice and ended up cooking them last time but as long as I keep an eye on it, I should be OK.

Much respect for sharing your technique dude. Ive not seen it done like that.

That looks great bozo. I'm gonna have to try it out. Like moebius I was getting ready to build a cloner basex of 420fieds design, but I'll give this a whirl first. Thanks for the info!

I did try foam rubber window seal ,they failed on me too, LOL maybe it was the type or rubber used.

I did look for the 'roughneck tote' but they don't sell them in my corner of the globe. Water cooler, I considered, but the lids looked too thick for what I wanted.

I really think a 'bubbler' system will be a lot easier for me than Aero. Although an effective passive technique may be best. I'm still a little undecided.

So what do you guys think of my new set up ? lol.

Its not totally done yet. I haven't decided if I want to connect all the buckets and have them return to the res. Or really simplify and keep it like a flood and drain table and drill holes either one the bottom or maybe an 1 1/2 up from the bottom so that a little res will stay in there for the plant when its bigger ? Oh and the drippers which aren't really dripping but flowing are on a 160gph pump which is on a CAP-ART. I have it set for like 10secs on and 10mins off i believe.

Anyone have any questions or comments ? lol.

bubble cloners work well just need to make sure you have the top of the water really agitated so that there's a really fine mist in the container. Ive always had good luck with the aero cloner.

The rubbermaid roughneck is the only tubs I use for my cloner. All others tend to leak. I wish everyone could get their cloning technique down with a DIY aero cloner, mine has never treated me bad, never leaks, sprayers never clog, I never change or even check the water from day-one through pulling them out with roots within 15 days.

Moe - sorry about your table man, I would be pissed too.
