Man, I could NOT have found this entire thread at a better time!!!! Just started my very first grow with 4 seeds in a 40" tall cabinet and had been researching how to keep the plants low. I've read the beginning of this thread more times than I can count. CAN'T WAIT to put this technique into practice! Thanks so damn much!!!!!!

Well I dosed it with the epsom salt, we'll see if that helps. Again its weird because its in the same 'stuff' as everything else and even the same clones have no issues which lead me to the LED being the only difference. Not a huge deal, this was a practice plant anyway.

Here ya go.

N / P Def is what it looks to me and under watering. Show some zoomed in pics of the leaves. I could be wrong

notice the red stems.....also indicative of Mg. def.....you did the right thing....some plants just need more, that's all....i have also noticed that when a plant is locking out, or does not have enough Mg. available for absorbsion, it will become sensitive to too much light....stems will turn red, the middle leaves will fade, and the tops can bleach.....

hey Subbie,

I found the LED's to bleach the top of my plants and cause other problems as well. Never noticed anything wrong until I started using LED. They put a bad taste in my mouth after killing almost all of my clones. So no more LED's for me, T5's work puurrfect!

Looks to me like a Mg Def like you said, and youre doing the right thing to fix it. Great Job! The baby should be fine.. Wooolf

Your led's are just too close. You should have them at least 24 in away maybe even 36 in. Or there is too much 660 and / or IR. Led's are awesome and will out veg any type of light.

T5's you want as close as possible since its linear and not a single point of light like led or hid. Best spectrum for veg. For 8 bulb 6 5400k 2 6500k. Ive tried every par spectrum combo using reg kelvin and aquarium par bulbs. With the 5400k and 6500k they will veg almost as fast as led.

Edit:

Light bleaching destroys chlorophyll and in the center of the chlorophyll molecule there is a magnesium ion. So in turn since chlorophyll is being destroyed, mg can not travel or be absorbed in the area where bleaching has taken place until it has healed or new growth in its place.

As an FYI, my main tent is a 4x6 with 2 600w LED's and I do fine in that, lots of room. This sick plant is in a Clone Box with much more limited height restrictions and the 300w LED was to much for it. I wanted to experiment mainlining in the clone box from veg to flower to see if I could. Obviously have some adjustments to make.

300 watts led is def too much for a clone box. 120 watts would be good. 2 600 watts leds in a tent. F**k man thats a killer tent set up. What kind of led's are you rockin. I just got an apollo 10 (367 watt 3w x150) after selling my 8. Now that have the 10 I want to get an 2 or 3 apollo 12's (432 watts ea.

I was looking at the bysens. They make the mags. But the chips are only driven to 1.6 watts where the apollo chips are driven at 2.4 watts. .

The LED's are Grow Stealth Quantum Pro Bloom 600w. The 300w was a freebie, would like to run it somewhere, was thinking of putting it in between the 2 600's.
