thanks for sharing! I am gonna try diluting my SS with some strain, the indicas are staying short a bushy and dont go through the food as fast, they are always lush green when comes harvest time, So I will see what happens with less food more light

I was up to 375 PPM for a few weeks without a problem but once the panels where much closer I had to drop the PPM to 250. Keep in mind that even at 250 PPM (not including 180 PPM of tap water) I have no reduction in growth or yield, I even estimate that yield will be some where around 1.25 gram per watt. =)
Wow, great info mate, I'm soo looking forward to get my grow up and running. Ta again bother :)

hey dawn just wondering whats up with your ph? i only ask because my buddha tahoe go is finishing up now maybe 2-3 weeks left and i have noticed big ph swings downwards myself. i flush every 3 days with fresh water so its not a build up and everything else seems spot on so I'm kind of thinking it might be something normal that happens towards the end of flower. her health hasn't been affected at all but she is also eating less now so i think its all just a shift in focus from drawing in nutrients from the root zone and now she's going to start using up her stores.

i have noticed with plants in the past that there nutrient requirements drop off towards the end but never noticed the ph but thats probably because i used to be a ph nazi and dusted it every chance i got where as now I'm lucky to touch ph and usually just let it do its thing but the drops down to 4.2 that i have been seeing are a little worrying. if you can shed some light let me know

Brother 2easy Whos Dawn??the Above Post Explains How pH Affects Our Plants.I Belive The Sunny Day Vs The Cloudy Day Effect And Trying To Run A pH Program Thats More Suited For The Sunny Day Effect Is Why Im Having pH Problems. With My Cmh And The Flora Nova Bloom My pH Would Start Out Around 4.65 With A Fresh Res Change And Drift Upwards And When It Would Hit The 6.20 Range I Would pH Back Down To 5.20 And Let My pH Drift Back Up.When I Run This pH Program With The Led's Its A Struggle To Get My pH Up And My pH Hits The 5.40-5.60 Range At The End Of My Add Back. With The Cmh My pH Hits this Range Within 24 Hours And It Takes My Leds 4-5 Days. Now With That Said NH4+(Ammonium) Is Asorb At 2 Times The Rate As NO3-(Nitrate) In The Lower pH Range And When This Happens Over A Peiord Of Time An Excess Of NH4+ Will Build Up And Cause A Toxic Reaction And our Beloved Plants Will Automatically Start flushing The Excess NH4+ Out Of Her Roots Causing The pH To Crash. Now You Will See In Sally's Update That Im Now Experimenting With A New pH Program More Suited For The Cloudy Day Effect.

I Went Over My Data On My Cmh Grows I Have Had To Add pH Up Late In Flower A Couple Of Times But That Was Before I Found Out It Was Ok To Let My pH Go Below 5.40.I Did Skim Over Your Journal And Noitced That You Changed Your Formula to Add More N To Your Solution. This Could Have Caused A Imblance In Your NH4+ Vs Your NO3-.(Just A Thought)Also I Suggest That You Check Your pH Every 24 Hrs

thanks dawg. dawn is your female counterpart according to my spellcheck lol.

i actually reduced N not increased but either way its fine. I'm not seeing any deficiencies or any problems. and yeah i do check ph daily its just since i ditched flora nova for flora 3 part i have not had to touch my ph up or down until now. the swings aren't really troubling me it was more of an observation than anything. really appreciate the reply and I'm going to have a skim through that article

Anyone else notice that Area 51 now has 6 sizes with a choice of 2 different spectrum's?
No real explanation of the 2 different spectrum's,the largest spectrum shift is only 6 %.
Are these, one for veg and one for flower now?

MaryAnn G-13 Gigabud Week5 Day6 Of Flower. These Pics Were Taken Yesterday Day5.MaryAnns pH Had Bottomed Out Just Like Sallys Did.I Was Better Prepared To Handle This Situation.First Thing I Did Was Do An Immediate Flush.Ppm In 23 And after 24 Hrs Ppm Was 146.So I Decided To Let Her Flush For Another 24 Hrs And Her Ppm Rose To 164.Thats Not Bad Really And What This Tells Me Is That My Nute Program Is Fairly Close To Being Perfect And Theirs Very little Salt Buildup In My Roots. Now Checkout Her Roots And How Brown They Are.The Flora Nova Bloom Has Organics In It And Will Stain Your Roots. You Will also Notice A Darker Brown Buildup On The Upper Roots Next To the Netpot. This Is NOT The Dreaded Brown Slime. It Is A Humis Acid Buildup That My EWC TEA Produces To Protect My My Roots In The Airgap.Which is Also Alot Darker Than Normal Because Of The Staining Of The FNB.Also During This Time I Havent Had Any Deffiences.

Back To The pH Swing. As You Have Read In My Last Post About The Sunny Vs The Cloudy Day Effect And How It Plays A Role in How Our Plants React To The Different Light And Heat Intensenity. Now I Have Started To Run What I Call The Cloudy Day pH Program With MaryAnn.On A Fresh Res Change I pH Up To 6.20 And Im Going To Let It Drift Backwards To 5.20 Letting Her Uptake Her Nutes At The Premium pH Value. This Is Working For Sally. At Res Change Yesterday Ppm Out 977 pH 3.35 Res Temp 73 Cab Temp 79 Rh 55% Ppm In 850 pH 6.20

Ah Elcaptainmorgan I See Area-51 Has Updated Their Webpage Again With New Spectrums How Cool Is That. This Is One Of Many Reasons I Went With Area-51.They Are Always Doing Research On Different Specturms Looking For The Holy Grail And When They Find One That Out Does The Last One They Dont Wait To Release It To Us.Now To Answer Your Question Spectrum 1 Is A Full Grow Panel And Spectrum 2 Is A Flower Panel

The original plan was to have in between sizes from what was already available, instead of just 110w, 170w, 250w, 450w and 590w, with the use of 12 LED modules in place of 15, there's now 95w, 145w, 190w and 225w from the new size model, 215w, 385w and 600w.

The exact spectrum and ratio from the 15 LEDs could not be transferred to the 12 LED without changing the ratios. However, we've been working on a veg spectrum for quite some time, and our test models had 12 LED modules, and the spectrum and ratio in there worked great for veg and flower, within 5% of the flowering spectrum/ratio.

Both spectrum's will veg great, as well as do a great job in flowering. As far as selecting which one someone would need, it's all a matter of personal preference, and how much wattage do you need.

A cool thing about the new 12 LED modules, there is separate switch controls for white and red.
