well into flower here , got nice 7 piece buds starting to frost up.

I noticed a couple of male flowers not yet popped open.

Now these seeds are feminized, so how did they get male flowers? and the flowers are growing out the nodes its wierd.

My buddy has a theory that ALL fem seeds are hermies?

I've never had a male hermie

i have had a couple of bagseed plants that reverse hermied. they had male sex organs and i was thinking about using the pollen so i kept them. about a week after seeing pollen sacs, they started showing signs of female. i chopped both of them down and trashed them.

seeing a reverse hermie is less common due to the fact most people chop the males at first sign of being male so you would not know if it was a hermie.

A seed that has come from a hermie does have a very high chance of carying the hermie trait through its gene pool... I dont buy female seeds anymore as my opinion of them has changed. Also not all hermie plants will pollinate, could very well be sterile.

Feminized seeds can be produced using various means, i.e. stress, chemicals, etc. Some breeders are better at it than others. Also the genetics (some strains are more prone to hermies). So, shitty company's like Dutch Passion and Greenhouse have loads of hermie issues with a lot of their strains. Others like Dinafem and Sweet Seeds seem to have a better knack at it and are much more reliable. Not all feminized seed are hermies or have those tendencies- you just need to choose better and more reliable producers. Lastly, all breeders that I use claim only a 99% rate of female plants in their feminized beans. 100% on anything is often tough to achieve.....

Can a hermie give you good seeds?
And it hermied late. the buds are so frosty it still looks like a female barley any herm flowers.

Many strains will hermie if let go long enough in flowering. It's one of the methods breeders use to create feminized beans. It called self-preservation and is quite common. If a plant hermies, it will always have that tendency. There are sprays available that may inhibit this tendency though. Lastly, some of the best tasting weeds I've ever had was from seeded pot. Some of my friends prefer that smoke too- claiming it's more full and rich. For me the issues are 1) people don't like to buy seeded pot and 2) plants stop developing bud and start producing seed when pollen hits the bud. Not a good thing for commercial growers.......

Not to Hijack the thread, but I have the exact issue right now. 6 weeks into flower and Great balls of Hermi showed up. The sacs opened before I found them. I may need to cut them sooner than later for inlaws are coming for a visit here in a couple weeks.
The plants are super frosty and the pistels started curling up today. I figure I might have 2 weeks before something has to happen.

Should I cut and cure now or wait until the last minute and deal with (probably) immature seeds?

Again I apologize for the hijack. I was searching for this answer and found this thread that described my situation to the T. Thanks for the answer and the understanding.
