Is this a correct way to clone?

I read the 101 frequently asked questions already about this but wanna make sure I got a grasp of it before I start chopping my plants. So to clone a plant it is best to do about a week before flowering? And you just cut the top off the plant and then cut a 45 degree angle on the stem of the cut top, then place stem of clone in water till it grows roots and simply plant in soil and water? Is this a correct way of cloning my plant? And if so what's the best lighting ratio to use on the newly planted cloned?

you can take clones of a plant as soon it is strong enough to take it, so not on one which is a week old or so depending on how fast my babies grow i wait 3-4 weeks befor taking a cut for clones really. and as soon this clone has some roots and a bit grow on its own, about 14days+, i put one of each plant into flower to check the sex. that then gets to the rabbits after it forfilled it task

the water method is the oldest one around and it works not to bad, watch out that the roots don't get light, so use a mug for the job and cover the top of it with something. don't forget misting and maybe do it in a grow dome.

early i used jiffy tabs and some cloning hormone to make clones in my outdoor grow and it worked as well.

oh, and don't expected that all your clones will make it, on my first attempted only 2 from 10 survived me

also watch out that you work clean, new razor blade, whip everthing with ethanol off and so, you don't want have an infection

the biggest one on getting that clone to root in water is making sure u change the water out everyday.

not nessesscarily the top of your plant, but a good branch as well.

i reccomend using a rooting hormone and rockwool, or even soil to clone in. this works much much faster, and is much more successful. i've never had a clone not take.

I heard something about cutting a 45 degree angle on the stem, is that going to be on the part I cut off(clone) or the plant itself? and also on average how long does it take for the plant to grow back(motherplant)?

yes, if you have read about cloning you should be cutting a 45 degree angle to allow more space for the plant to absorb the rootign hormone and grow roots..

the 45° angle also gives the clone more surface to suck up water, and that is important to for keeping it alive along as it has no roots to do the job

you only should change the water if you got a bacteria problem with it, starts to stink, gets brownish or so. a bubbler would sure help against that since most of this bacteria causing it are anaerobic but it may lift the clone out of the water or hurt the roots if it is too strong
