DIY DWC 5 Gallon bucket grow

I was checking if you had a grow journal worth a fuck... and i found out no no you don't.
Well that would make sense since I have never made a grow journal. I do have a grow thread though that's been viewed 12,388 times and that many people respond to and follow. It stays on page 1 everyday too. I don't think that makes me a bad ass or anything, but obviously other people are interested. Not bad for a 2 month grower huh?

and you posted that same thing twice. like i said before just trolling away.
And now I'm starting to think you're just retarded. What did I post twice?

Please learn to type everything you have to say in one box. Doesn't make sense to make a post for every sentence.

also saying buy hydroton or rockwool isn't bad information....
Nope, but saying it's better than rocks for DWC, and then failing to substantiate your claim meaningfully, is bad information. Now had you said "Hey, rocks wont do the job man, and heres why:...", then proceeded to list valid reasons, people would take you much more seriously. Someone who shows up, and then gets defensive when asked to back up his claims, will never get taken seriously. Nobody cares how many years you have been growing if they think you're wrong, and you don't back that shit up, you're sill wrong in their book.

Edit: Like LadyJ said, use the edit button man, a bunch of single posts send the wrong message.

no it isn't, but trolling the fuck out of a thread that isn't yours is kind of annoying. not everyone chooses to buy the "best" materials for growing. there are plenty of ways to skin a cat. and in reality it probably doesn't make a difference since the rocks or hydroton isn't your "medium" in a dwc, rdwc, uc system. water is your medium. rocks are just your substrate.

on a side not you keep yapping about people's lack of a worthy journal, their yields, and telling people they need to finish a grow before they argue with you...then you post those pics? not helping your cause pal. you growing popcorn on purpose? should i bring the butter? you need to post a lot less and read a lot more. you also shouldn't be commenting on anyone's yields after looking at those tiny buds. i've been growing for 12 years. both soil and hydro. i have an under current and flood table grow. plus i keep a soil grow here at my house.

i don't have a journal but i'll save you some time. here's some of my pics.

these are 6 girls i've got waiting to go into flower. i've pulled them out a few times cause i'm doing work on the 2 tents to get ready for some upgrades and a new 3hp chiller.

these pics are from day 10 of some girls i just put into flower. i do a perpetual grow with 6 girls on either side of a 4x8 tent. 600w lights.

very nice, im actually going to be doing a 6 plant/ 6 plant flower veg grow next, cause i am moving to a new house and the new house has a big huge wooden shed in it, with water / elec in it. Imma use 10x5 of it to do a 5x5 and 5x5 grow room, and the roof is about 8 feet high, imma put a 250/250 hps and mh in each room. im going to do a plant a bucket dwc, 6 buckets a room. and im going to build a clone shelf in the veg room for just clones with my t12's/t8 and t5 i have

sweet bro, sounds like you got some work ahead of you when you get to the new house. good luck with that.

i have 3 4x8 tents in the garage right now. 1 is for veg and has 2 600's in it. i keep moms on one side and vegging plants on the other. i built a little shelf with a t5 setup on top of that light for clones. the flower tent has 2 600's as well. the other tent i use for drying and curing. i put the girls in there for 48 hours of darkness before i chop them. then i hang them in there to dry as well. i have 1 more tent that i need to setup. just got it; gonna run a hydro setup in there with 2 600's as well. i run everything on a 3hp commercial chiller. all closed environment. just run a manifold suppy and return from the chiller through the tents. ice boxes on all the hoods, water cooled co2, coils for the reservoirs, ice boxes and fans on thermostat controllers as spot a/c's in each tent. absolutely love it. water cooling is just so much more efficient for me. probably use half the electricity i would if i had to buy ac units.

scooby, with your setup you should try parabolic reflectors. works great with watercooling.
from everything i've read they are the most inefficient reflectors out there. makes total sense to if you look at how they redirect light. even the horizontal bulb ones are really ineffective. plus, i'd much rather get that heat off the bulbs and the canopy. much more efficient that way.

no way could i even think about doing it here at my house. i use ice boxes to cool the exhaust on my lights which is blown back into the tent. then i just have a single fan, carbon filter, and ice box that acts like a spot ac. it's hooked up to a thermostat controller. i would have to get 5-6 of those things going just to cool 1 tent if i wasn't cooling the exhaust on my lights.

at the big room i ducted all the lights to the return on the water cooled air handlers. much more effective that way. if i installed parabolic reflectors i would need 2 air handlers in each room.

those reflectors are worthless in my opinion. i know some guys love them but i can't see how they can be effective with water cooling.

you have your mind set, obviously. but i will say that after testing bare bulbs, blockbuster reflectors, sun system2 reflectors, and parabolics with a meter that i get a much better spread and concentraion of light with the parabolics.

i'm game for anything that grows better plants bud. i've just seen a few tests that show that parabolics are the worst of the reflectors basically. what kind of meter are you using for your tests? PAR, fc, lux, lx?

it's also hard to use parabolics with a smaller room and water cooling. you need to cool the exhaust of each light with water cooling and parabolics aren't designed to be air cooled so it kind of defeats the purpose. in larger setups where we use water cooled air handlers it might be something to look into.
