Awesome buds Curly!!

Just stopping in to get some opinions seeing as you guys know your shit in the modern LED market XD

In a few months I'll be getting some more LED panels to replace my 250w HPS, the plan is to grab a 450w Flowering panel and a 135w grow panel (maybe 2) but for now I have a 90w UFO so only need the 1 :) have to see how much money I've got when I order them.

Anyway I'm in the UK and looking for a reputable supplier and brand, I'm thinking Blackstars as they seem to be more widely available. But any opinions you guys have as to what brand and where to get them from would really help me out!

Stay Frosty!

This is the first pic of my new grow using my lumigrow 330es. The plants are about 2 weeks after germination and doing good. They're growing real fast but extremely bushy, maybe because I have the red spectrum dialed down for vegging.

im new to growing idoors, i have a little experience growing outdoors but this is really my first real attempt..i have some LED panels and also LED bulbs (both have blue and red lights)..my first generation of plants started with cfls and as they got bigger i realized i needed some better/stronger lights so i ordered LEDs and they are now budding under the LEDs and have been for a few weeks now ..many friends of mine told me budding was not gonna be possible considering how LEDs dont give off much heat. id say i proved them wrong already because they are looking good so far..my second generation of plants have been growing under LEDs since they sprouted and are growing much healthier than the first batch that started under cfls..i havent used MH or HPS lights before so i cant compare but these LEDS are surely better than CFLs

what up matchbox thanks for the compliment , if your in the UK check out viparled for sure they are based out of there i used their panels for that run i posted there and they treated me very very well :D blackstars are good units too a little on the cheaper end of things but they produce for sure and they only offer a 1 year warranty which kinda worries me.

Heres a link to my, journal - LED/T5 Shark Shock Grow
Theres really not much in there at the moment because the grow is only a few weeks in. Heres a pic of the grow room to show you guys what i've got going on in there...
growroom.jpg
Those are the T5's running vertically along the corners of the tent for supplementary lighting. Right now I have the the Blue dial on 10 and the red on 3, and then I turn the red up one notch each week. I notice a big difference with the change in spectrums, so it does actually work. I would definitely recommend a panel with adjustable spectrum. As the grow progresses further i'll post more plant pics, but for now they're just little bushes, not very interesting. Thanks for the interest!

how many led panels do you need to compete with HID's? And also what colors should I get?

Thanks to anyone who can help me out with this :)

That's a really tough question to answer without knowing the size of your room, the amount of plants you want to grow, etc. A good start is to have 50% less wattage than HID lighting. I traded in my 600w HID system for a 300W panel and havent looked back. However, I would love to be running 600w of LED light. So, I guess the answer to your question is get as much light as possible if you want to "compete" with HID's. By that, I assume you mean yield, so you should have the same LED wattage as you would in HID or provide some sort of supplementary lighting to be able to compete as far as yield. As for color, just get a full range panel for veg all the way through flower.

Hey Nirvanafan,
I used a single Black Dog PlatniumXL to beat my 1000 hps.

Everyone else,
I too am stocked to run with a plant cam. I geek out on things like that
