why the wait for searching

why is there always a delay when doing more than 1 search within a small amount of time. i get so frustrated when i search and it says please wait 20 more seconds. i realize i am being very impatient, but its annoying as hell and im sure im not the only one. otherwise thanks riu, i learned a lot of cool stuff here. hopefully helped out some people. and plan to stick around to do more of the same.

It is bandwidth that is allocated for Elite users. Everybody gets that from time to time.

There's no bandwidth allocation. It's just that we're a very large site, so our search engine is toned down to help speed our response time. It's quicker and better results are gotten using a web search engine to search rollitup.org.

I just noticed a blue link at the top of the forum from the admin, says servers will be down later to fix some issues, including the search function.
