Stretch has begun already, I am getting ahead of it and pinching the longest stems while the others catch up. Getting really full in there. This is going to be a really really packed grow.

If i get the time today i will be building an aeroponic PVC setup and a scrog closet for a full moon.

Just a quick update. Nothing major but the screen is filling up a lot. I have pinched the largest branches and have noticed they havent stretched as much and the smaller branches are catching up nicely.

Looking good right? Lots of tops, lots of good growth. Screen is for the most part full, i do believe the squares are too small, not in a bad way really, just makes it difficult to tuck when the plant has bushed out or the tops are full.

I know it's very exciting. I am hoping for some good results, mostly to proove to myself and further justify that the money i spent on this light will be of some use.

Well i promised a one week update, but alas the lights were out by the time i got home. So tomorrow it will be.

In the meanwhile let me introduce you to another Ak48...

It is a bonsai clone! It is around two months old, and very solidly rooted. She was taken from a flowering plant at harvest time, so roughly 8 weeks into 12/12, showed roots in the same 5 days all my clones take (love the bubble system) It does not grow much, in this shot you can see a new young shoot coming forward, i may pinch that off if it looks unsightly. It barely drinks at all, and smells very nice when you get in close. I plan to transplant it into a more aesthetically pleasing pot/scenery and having a real run at bonsai mini bud.

Real pics tomorrow!

Ok here is the one week update:

So the plants are looking good, all the tops are pretty even really, only a few are stretching ahead. In general its pretty even. i expect one or two more weeks of stretch for this strain then the real pics will be coming in.

I am going away for 4-5 days for the holidays, i can still update and talk, but no pics.

A fun game to play, although quite a ways away, is guess the yield! For whoever the winner is i will mail a prize, not sure yet what it will be, but it will be good :)

Just got back home from vacation, and the plants look great! they have, of course, stretched a little but they seem to be slowing down which is good because i dont have a whole lot of headroom to spare. I can see the bud-sites forming and hair production is up. I will post pics on Friday for an official 2 week update!

As i said earlier, these girls were showing their junk early and ready to go, so i believe the transition into flower was a quick one and should help speed up the harvest date. The total veg time is unknown, but it was a decent time. It took very little time to fill the screen though. Much of the early life was in a nutrient deprived state, only minimal growth really.

Right on! Once i got it all situated i feel like an idiot for growing any other way! haha not really, ive had some trees that did just fine, but never this much in so little a space.

This thing is still growing of course, so we'll see if i have enough room or not.

I expect the next 4 Weeks to be hugely exciting :) This is my first scrog and im really excited to open that door to a small sea of tops haha.

Ok so Wednesday was actually the two week mark. So here are the shots to update you all. As you can see, there are tiny little buds starting everywhere, its very fun to see. after this shot i super-cropped two of the tallest colas and pruned off a little undergrowth and a few larger fan leaves up top to help with light penetration.

All nutrient deficiencies have been sorted, and the leaves are looking pretty good, still a little burnt on the tips, but that cant really be reversed just stopped.

I was thinking of putting in a Co2 pad, bottle, or yeast thing, but i have no floor space and the air is forced in the bottom and out the top so im sure i would lose Co2 too fast.

Ok no more stalling, here are the pictures.

Well, there she is. In all her glory :)

I will be holding a "guess the yield" contest. I am thinking the prize will be some very nice seeds from an anonymous third party. I still have to clear this with a mod, but i think its alright. I will have official contest rules and all at around week 4-5.

I just did watered with some molasses and plain water. Tomorrow, if i have time, i will be pruning a little more agressively and perhaps taking a few clones, havent decided on that part yet. Im still not entirely thrilled about the AK48 strain to be honest.

In other news i do have my Sannie's Seeds Killing Fields in, two are in the drink for pre-sprouting soak. I will kick em over to flower pretty quickly to learn the strain a bit as i havent grown such a dominant sativa before. I did grow nirvana's Full Moon, but it grew much more like an indica really.

Ok so I am taking pics here of the 3week mark in a minute. Plants are progressing nicely. The leaves are all nicely colored and the buds are developing on a nice schedule. They are really close to plumping up and their stretch has stopped.

I would update more, but unless you all want more mid week pics nothing really to show. No problems to get assistance on, or much else. So just a waiting game now :)

Ok Picture update time. As you can see on the closeup side shots, the large buds will certainly be pretty stacked. I imagine the 6 or so main colas to be pretty substantial, and the ancillary ones to fill up the spaces left behind quite well.

Dont mind the wall thermometer, it is wildly inaccurate. Temps are about 10deg lower on average than the reading on that.

I finished light proofing the cab. Aside from about 2 small leaks it is really stealth now. I mean it's still a random cabinet in a kitchen that doesnt match, but at least its dark at night.

Smell isn't an issue at all. The nirvana a k48 has never really stunk for me. This specific one is growing and acting much better than previous ones.

Week 4 is fast approaching. Just fed her with some bonuses that should help her fill out nicely.

I am very tempted to add a uv bulb in there for some increased trichromes but i really want to do one grow with this light with no other help. I really want to see what this light can do, no excuses or variables.

yeah man, i would just leave it with the LED by itself to see its production for this grow, especially if you're planning another round after. but it really is coming along great, love that canopy

edit - for what its worth, im all for UVB and adding light. cant have too much, as long as temps allow for it. Im kind of in the same boat right now. i wanted to add more to my 250w setup but im going to see what it can do for me before I throw more stuff in the tent

Thanks guys! Im all amped up at the moment, i might be selling all my lights in the near future. Dont worry nothing bad, actually i finally found an affordable Sulfur Plasma light!!! Needless to say im a bit broke at this time, but who knows. If i can raise the money its mine! Still working out the details and i think i will always keep my spectra, i just love it more and more each day haha.

And i have decided to not add any additional light. This thread is really, for me anyway, about as few variables as possible so i can see for myself how this light performs. As i said i am already sold on this light, i think i will hang onto it for a long time, unless i end up with a ton of fluff, which i dont see happening.

Thanks for the interest!

Are you looking at the lights from inductionlamps.com? Or maybe hydroponicshut.com? I'm interested in seeing what you are trying to get.
