Hello, thanks for dropping by. :)
I recently started my second grow, it will be my first time in coco & auto-watering.
For watering I will use an passive system, and I think it is really good to have if the power goes out or anything like that. The system is called Trumph-blumat, I ordered the package with 12 probes and accessories, costed me about 80 dollars with shipping straight from the Blumat company. I really like this system, it's kind of like AutoPot for those of you who know what that is, but with drippers.
Since I didn't want large 8.5L or 15L pots, I went with blumat simply because I can have any kind of pot that I want to use. Also it's about half the cost per plant, including pots and a tank.
Enough about the watering system.

I am planning to use 12/12 starting sunday, until then it's 14/10. I guess some of the strains might even need some more veg-time but I don't want some of the girls to get way to big for my space. I am therefore going 12/12 pretty much from start, SoG style.

I am going to grow 2x Green Emerald, here's some info about it:

Green Emerald, Norden seeds. Type: Indica/Sativa (~80/20)Genes: N#1, Mazar-I-SharifGender: FeminizedVeg: 2 weeks (indoors)Bloom: ~9 weeksHeight: 100-120 cm (3-4 feet)Yield: HighTHC: High

Also I have some information about the Lowryder X that I will grow in 1 pot.

Lowryder X, Norden seedsGenes:Lowryder #2 X White DwarfGender: FeminizedIt's 100% autofloweringTakes ~95 days from seed.Yield: 15-25 grams per plantHeight: 25-40 cm

Strains: 2x Black Sugar , 3x White Widow x Big Bud , 2x BubbleGummer , 2x Emerald Green (Norden seeds, have not grown this myself yet), 1x Lowryder X from Norden seeds as well. Did grow it once before and got 1 ounce out of 1 plant.
Lightening: 400w MH/HPS /w cooltube (GIB SPP PRO-IT 400W, GIB XTreme HPS bulb, GIB MH bulb)
Tent: DS90 II tent (3x3 feet)
Ventilation: 300 m³/h ventilation fan with carbon filter, I have a RPM-regulator to make it less noisy
Watering system: Trumph-Blumat dripping system /w 50L tank at the moment. (It's a passive system using a tank elevated higher than the nodes, I recommend it. It's kind of like AutoPot but with drippers instead.)
Pots: 10x Airpot 6L but I upped the bottom so there is about 4.5-5L of medium inside
Medium: Canna Coco Plus+
Nutrients: Gold Label Coco A+B, Roots, Ultra MG, Ultra PK
Accessories: pH-meter, nothing for EC.

Overview of my setup

Home made tubing for easy installation in the tent, 120MM 1650RPM Typhoon fan connected to a resistor to lower sound levels a bit

Bottom of one of my 6L Air Pots, with this setting there is space for about 4.5L medium in the pot.

Lovely little thing, makes it possible to sleep with ventilation on.

Day "1":
Right now 8 out of 10 seedings have sprouted, I have yet to plant 3 to a pot, but they hasn't popped out of the sponge yet. I filled my tank with 40L of water today for the first time, added 0.5ML of A+B, 0.25ML Roots, 0.25 Ultra MG. (Per liter)
pH'd the water down to 6.0 and I will let it be til sunday, when I get back from christmas vacation.
Hopefully no girls will die during this period. :)

actually the next time i do another grow i actually plan to do something similar to your setup... at the moment i can fit ten 3 gallon smartpots in line on the rack in my growroom.... next time i'd like to have about 15 to 20 in smaller airpots since i have an extra air cooled hood and another 400w ballast that i can put next to my current 400w setup and then just basically do a 12/12 grow schedule from the start.

Yeah that's a cool idea, I can fit 16 pots in the tent all in all but then there's no room for the fan, however I am considering to buy one or two of those with a clip to put on a metal bar, but then i also have the humidifier wich take up a little bit of room as well. :)
I might buy a few more tho, I can probably fit 12-13 and have room for the humidifer and a fan.

hows your blumats working?
I didn't have much time to install them for proper drainage etc, but now that im home again it works alright. I think one of the seedlings are going to die, or is dead from to little watering (happened to 1 of the 8 pots) :/ But it's sorted, had to low setting on it, and the rubber hose in the blumat clogged togheter, i fixed this by just pushing on the sides of it and now it works again

what do you mean when you say that you didnt install the blumats for proper drainage?
Not sure. Well, I meant that I didn't really check how much they were watering before I went away. One watered to little, and the plant is pretty much dead. Put it back in my seedling box but it's pretty damn sad... I will probably throw it away.

Day 9 (from repotting seedlings):

I have added some more nutrients to the mixture. An EC meter would be efficient so that you don't put way to much nutrients in, but I can't afford one for this grow.
Some girls have started to grow and have a few leaves, 3 of them look kind of sad and tiny. Maybe it was to early transplant for them?

(in reference to one of the plants in the pic... top row, second from the left)
that little bastard is taking off lol, seems like it wants to leave the others behind haha, that's a good thing in my opinion.
i hope you get lots of girls with this one man... or at least half!
thanks for clarifying about the drainage question, i was kind of wondering what you meant by that lol.
so no other problems with any of the other plants?
they say that you can leave these drippers for long periods of time alone but as you already know that isn't always the case.... i have 2 drippers per pot and only 2 pots so 4 drippers all together and every now and then i have to clear a small clog or something of that nature... that's why i decided to use 2 of them... i figured that one might fail and if that is the case then it is ok... if 2 fail int he same pot then it just wasn't meant to be i guess lol. i still love these damn things though... they have only had like 3 slight clogs and it's been over a month... all of them were fixed within seconds just by stretching the tubing and opening up the valve to full to allow for water to pass through it at high speeds and push out any gunk that may be in there. also I use dripclean and it works wonders... it also helps prevent salt buildup so you might wanna look into that if you don't have any additive that you are using at the moment. it's hard as hell to find in the states but i noticed some of your electrical plugs and I assume that you are in the UK... if that is the case then you should be able to find it easier that i could since i had to order mine from the UK rather than the states.

Thats a good security to use double blumats in each pot, I could do it but I don't have that many blumats. I guess it'll be for the next grow or so. :) If i need it, I haven't really had anything clugging since i esembled, except for the one that were pressed togheter and stuck that way til i pushed it round again. :) I hope it will be ok. The nutrients I use, specifically Gold Label - Ultra MG, and in flower also Ultra PK. Both says on the bottle that it helps keep the drippers clean inside, and it shouldnt clog up or something like that. I guess time will tell if they are that great. :)[h=3]http://www.odlingsbutiken.se/gold-label/572-ultra-mg.html[/h]

Don't have any co2 additions, I live in a city so the ppm might be a little higher here than in the country. However I've been looking at co2 bottles with regulators, but it costs 220 euros for a 500ML bottle or something. I will probably buy it when I can afford it, in a half year or so. :) Just growing for myself I've spent about 800-900 euros on my setup now :)

oh ok, i was actually referring to your nutrients and water. the reason i am wondering is cause i only had the small clogs happen when my ppm started to reach the 600ppm range but it is still nothing major

Ohh right, I don't have any EC meter, is it really needed? I just measure nutrients and add it :) It might be better to use ppm so you can get it as strong as plants can take it and know when that is etc. :)

ppm and ec are one in the same.
it just takes a conversion to get the EC from your ppm reading and the same goes for the other way around.
i wouldn't be able to do much without mine since i have had to add stuff like cal/mag to the point where it brings my reservoir water up 100ppm from where it currently was... i wasn't told an exact amount per liter or anything so I'm glad that i had one when i needed it the most.
at the moment i have a nutradip that is a full time meter that mounts on the wall, it measures ppm, ph and temps in your res so that i don't have to test it all of the time, the thing works wonders.

Oh, thats really handy. I'm gonna look into one of those! :) Do you need to refill it with calibration fluids as well? And if so, how often?

nah the tips come with caps that have ph solution in them and you arent supposed to let the probes dry out.... you just test to make sure the unit was calibrated correctly at the factory and then once you stick them in your res you just forget about it.....some people like to recalibrate them 1 time per month which is what i will do just to make sure everything is working properly.
