hi everyone...so im growing outside in the ground for the first time this summer and i had a question on preventing all the little pest and big ones from attacking your sacred crop. for the little devils, i was wondering about pesticides. do they kill or harm your plants when you spray your plants down. and for the big creatures, i was planning on shaving my head and putting the hair clippings down around my plants to have human scent and keep deer and other big animals away. also i would make a perimeter of piss around my grow site, not to close to my plants of course, every time a visit my site, once a week. if you have any comments on this please do comment. if you have an answere to my pesticide question, please answere....thanks:blsmoke:

thanks that was a helpful read...but it didn't mention anything pesticides. could someone please tell me if spraying pesticdes on your plants would kill or harm them. giving me the name of a good pesticide would be very helpful as well:confused:

Um I'm pretty sure that's more about the pesticides used on big commercial farms, etc. If you're getting a pesticide, you want one that specifically says "safe for food plants" or something similar. So any old pesticide doesn't work. I don't have a brand name for you, but go to a garden center or hydro store and they'll certainly have something.

Although, the other impression I've gotten from people is that no one really uses pesticide as a preemptive measure...they only use it after they have problems with bugs. Can someone confirm if that is right or not?

I remember reading a post here about molasses.

I found it to be very well written, and the author seemed to be incredibly knowledgeable. I would recommend checking that out, I believe there was an organic way to keep most pests at bay. As well as molasses can be used as a nute?

Best of luck!!

:blsmoke:thanks guys....those are the kind of responces im talkin about. i got something today at my local garden center and it says something like it works on everything but food plants.....is that ok or do i need something that works on EVERYTHING

Yea that's no good man. It needs to say 'works on food plants' or something of that manner, and yours says quite the opposite. You need to think of marijuana as a food plant since we ingest it, though not in the traditional way. But think about it, if the remains of your pesticide aren't safe to eat...you probably don't wanna smoke them either. So definitely go back and get something that says 'safe for food plants'.

I have never had to use a pesticide yet i grow outdoors and we have a plethora of little nasties that can attack plants,
but not to many do the odd aphid(a quick spray with soapy water helps with them)

for a broader safe spray is chilli and garlic spray.easily made at home

I'm a licensed exterminator and I use Neem oil and pure pyrethrum on my plants. Both are made from nature(Neem oil coming from the Neem tree and pyrethrum, the Chrysanthemum). The Neem oil can be found in any good hydroponics store or on-line. A good brand name is "Einstein Oil". The pyrethrum I use is an aerosol named "CB-80". I use it because it contains only pyrethrins and no butoxide(bad). Use saucers of cheap beer for slugs and snails if they are a problem in your area(as they are in mine). I don't have a problem with any other pests so I can only give you advice on what I know.

thanks so much man but i had a hard time reading that, a lot of big words hah. if you could sum it up for me that would be great and have it not so confusing hah....thanks
