I have cash, and can put that towards gas, but would rather just use the change if I'm going to give up a free ride and go.

That's not good on your cars electric fuel pump, they use the gasoline in the tank to help them run cool and burn out faster the more often you run it really low or out of gas. Just for future reference if you care
