I used the microwave to sterilize them and it worked fine.

I might invest in a pressure cooker though.

For how long did you keep them in the microwave, also, what about the metal tops? i really need to know everything about sterilizing with microwaves cuz pressure cookers is tooo much. but yea, im going to start doing this. but im just going to get my best shrooms and make a spore print and make a syring out of it.

I wing it with measurements when dealing with casing mix. I use coco coir and Vermiculite around a 50/50 mix or 60/40 (60 verm/40 coir). And for the jars i use Organic rye grain. The major thing is the atmosphere you create for your babies. The temp, moisture, fresh air levels, co2 levels and so on all affect growth drastically

outside the risk of contamination is very minimal. i dont know what the yield results however are

Theres c02 and everything outside, so thats what im guessing.

The ones i have going are golden teachers. co2 is needed for the beginning stages but when its pinning time (time when little shrooms form) air circulation is key. Also co2 is created in your terrarium naturally via the casings growth. To much co2 and stagnant air will most likely cause some type of contam. Also way To much co2 will stop growth alltogether. Ill get a bunch of links that helped me when i was looking around to grow. Ill post them later today after i find enough that fit all questions/problems.

Ive got 2 different strains I inoculated yesterday, Hawaiian (2 jars), and Puerto Rican (1 jar).

The ones ive got going right now are B+.

When I take pictures today Ive got twice the pins I had yesterday and they have all doubled in size.

I am going to go ahead and try a casing soon. Ive got 5 jars left before I have to make some more.

I should have some nice fresh shrooms this weekend, me and my girlfriend plan to trip this saturday night and its her first time

u order ur spores? or where u get them from? I always want to grow sum.. bounced over to a shroom site and after the first paragraph I was like I understood NOTHING so can you tell me a simple way to grow a small personal stash Im sure its nto hards its a damn fungus. thanks

Do you have a pressure cooker? If not you can order the jars all ready to go online and get spores online as well.

Other than that you just need a few Tupperware bins and lots of rubbing alcohol to keep everything sterilized.
