Hey man, just quickly reading through your thread.. you put some stones in the bottom of a garbo bag and just filled it with soil yeaha? Did you add drainage holes or anything?

there are no drainage holes. its just a garbage bag double wrapped over a shoe box, stones on the bottom layer with two types of soil poured in layers. one of the bags of soil has an additive in it that is supposed to retain moisture longer, the other bag was a free leftover bag from a friend.
and guys, it doesnt get much more ghetto than this

Get those out of solo cups and into 2+ gallon planters asap. As much as everyone wants to talk a big game, you cannot get a huge harvest off of a plant in a solo cup. I have an experiment running now, same strains 5 plants - 1 in 5 gal, 1 in 4, 1 in 3, 1 in 2, 1 in 1. All germinated and planted the same day, watered exactly the same with the exact same lighting over top. The 5 gal is about 4 and a half feet tall whereas the one in the 1 gal is about 2 feet and very slender.

On the other hand, if you just want to try solo cups - be my guest you will still get good buds, just a lot less. lol

i lawled at this comment tiny and yes, i did evolve out of the dixie cups long ago. obviously because theyre waaay to small to grow any mature plant in.
i am interested to see how your little experiment goes. i'm anxious to see the differences in the sizes of the plants and the amount that each plant will yield from different sized pots.
i have a couple questions though and i hope you read them and reply, if not I'm gonna copy pasta onto your thread eventually haha
what happens when/if the plant in the 5gal pot exceeds the height of the rest? the lights will need adjusting accordingly per plant, maybe one plant is much taller, fatter, what-have-you and maybe it needs more water than the rest of them? just thoughts. anywho, love the idea for the experiment.

yeah, she turned out pretty damn good if i do say so myself. im guessing 1.5 - 2 ounces. each cola looks like about 4-5 grams and the two biggest look to be about 7 grams.
i tried to get as many shots of the base of the plant so people can see whats going on.
you cant really tell from the pictures, but the biggest bud is actually coming from the lowest node on the plant!

Hey dude, how'd u stick the power bars up there? I had a hygrothermometer duct tapped to the mylar the other day and it fell off after a few hours....did you velcro this mofo up with double stick tape? Or did you hang them and just use tape to keep in place? or somthing else entirely maybe...

I am on DAY 1 of the 9TH WEEK of flowering. starting to flush the plant tomorrow for two week-ish. more n more psyched every day for harvest

the power bars have two holes with slots on the back of them. i screwed two screws the same distance apart as those holes onto plywood to hang the power bars from. if you get the screws at the right spot they hold the power bar taught. they have to be the right size obviously. if youre picking up power bars check the back of them for slots/holes to hang them from.

Yes sir, has been quite the grow eh son? Now comes the hardest part of all.

I can't wait to see the final product on this girl. The combination of the amber trichs and the pink pistils is 100% new to me. Plus the seeds are supposedly some fairly dank shit so it should be good tokin'.

Anyway, few weeks to go yet. Fuck ya!

been using 23 watt and 45 watt bulbs. using 9 bulbs . three of them are 45s. there were 10 in total. one bulb broke, it only works half the time. moved the lights around (multiple socket splitters for the bulbs)

there are a few good photos that you can tell the bud is very pink.



more pics up today. i took them with a magnifying glass to see if it would actually work, and it sort of did. in the first picture if you look at the top of the bud you can see the pink. wish i had a better camera for pictures but you'll have to make do

Keeping a log is key, if you want to understand whats going on. "Knowledge is power". You will be able to fix sick plants, improve and optimize. This is where you need to be, to be the best grower in the shortest amount of time. I have grown entire plants from beginning to end with one 13 watt cfl. Growing "on the cheap" is easy and rewarding. Rock on bro.

No...no 13w bulbs were used just 2x 42w and 6x 23w
