Veg time for 16 plant SOG from seed?

I am planning a 16 plant SOG grow in soil with a 400w hps for veg and 1000w for flowering in a 48x48x78 inch mylar tent. When growing from seed, what would be a good indicator for me to start flowering to avoid spacial issues?

first off u don veg with hps get some t5 or t8 home depot then wait bout 2 weeks then makem flower they will end up about 3 ft tall or so . and u will be lucky to get an o off of each

Lights sound fine to me, i veg on 250 and flower on 600 in similar siz set up. However 16 plant sog in that space is tight. I have a similar grow space and my best crop is from 6 plants with four weeks veg. With sixteen you can afford hardly any veg time and your yield will suffer. Reduce the number of plants but get them in big pots and veg em longer.

SoG is all about even canopy and clones from mature plants. Seedlings are really not the best way. The growth rate is not even and neither is the maturity.

Do fewer plants and cultivate a couple of mothers to take clones from. THEN you can do what you're thinking of.

HUH he want to vegs not watch paint dry lol thats what those florous will do great cloneing pos for vegging in my books floros for keeping mothers sure or transplantin from a clone into 4" cups here look at this pic under power HPS day 8 from a 3" clone no floro would compare

I Would listen do this guy and once you get your clones go 12/12 for space issues. Also I would listen to the other guy and use t5 or t8 for vegging (If you want to veg). Use that hps for flowering man.
