Have to say the comments on the Apache Tech LEDs are intriguing. Interesting that both NASA and Stanford are using them. As Kapn mentioned, the owner of the website needs to get more information up.

One thing that really caught my attention is the beam angle on his lights. Common beam angles are 60, 90, and 120 degrees. Those with 60 degree beam angles always tout how much better they are for penetration because the light is more concentrated. I figured it was just a matter of time before someone made a narrower beam angle. According to the Apache Tech website, the beam angles are 14 degrees in some cases (some are 50 degrees).

Will be interesting to see how these lights turn out.

does anybody on here know what is the best led grow light on the market? i have no exp in led lights and am very interested in trying them out, quality is everything here.

i appreciate any answers at all, thanks.
I'm not claiming to be an expert, but I feel like I have spent a good amount of time researching this subject, especially recently. That being said, for MY money, I like StealthGrow, GLH (GrowLEdHydro), AdvancedLED; Diamond Series, and Blackstar.....in that order.

I'd like to hear what a more experienced LED grower would have to say on the subject!!

thank you canna for finally popping to get a gang of lights to do more serious research on them, i really do appreciate it because i use them, i used to have access to 4 magenta's now just one and my blackstar, i want to try more of the kessils or im going to go spectra, if canna can solve the trichome development problem im seeing in comparison to my blackstar with some added uv lighting im in like flynn cause i know the kessils yeild righteous with 3 of them 4 of them would have been stupid i wish i had ran them all at once....

*if any of you are interested in following an all kessil grow, im starting one under the AMC forums..

--cheers

heres an experienced led grower tellin you to do more research right now the tip top of the totem pole for leds goes, Kessil/Spectra(glh) debateable whos product is better, advanced, blackstar (excellent quality but yeild is down a bit compared to other panels.)

I haven't done a lot of kessil research. Out of the 4 that I mentioned, you mentioned 3, leaving out StealthGrow somehow? As far as the order, its personal preference in my opinion, as the lights are actually fairly close in performance. The fact that you listed the same exact lights that I did....in a different order.....tells me that I actually DON'T need to do a whole lot more research, just need to familiarize myself with Kessil. Thanks for your condescending attitude though! I hope it made you feel important!

Also, Blackstar yields are less because the actual wattage is about half of the advertised wattage. This is very commonly known.

yaaaaa i say glh before kessil , kessil has a flashlight like design that hurts the spread of light they are good for 1 or 2 plants but thats it and with there current price tag i say they are not that good of a deal for the light you get ...... just my opinion.

yea you really do, need to do more research because the fact that your going off of personal preference and not results shows what stage your at research wise, stealth grow is kind of a joke from what i've seen, s1 show me a good grow with 1 ill stand corrected til then i wouldnt list them.

I own a blackstar man, your not going to tell me anything i dont know about them i own kessils as well. and i've followed irish boys grows since he started postin them. if you want condescending attitude i can give it to you, but i merely stated that it seemed like you hadnt done much research yet its obvious you havent since you state specifically you think the differences are personal preference. Have fun spending lots of money without research

id be careful with that statement, its very debateable the h350 covers more area than a spectra 180 and it uses less wattage and im pretty sure its going to yeild at LEAST as good if not better, i ran 3 kessils and pulled between 8 and 9 ounces. I didnt know it at the time but trichome production was down compared to my blackstar run. 1 h350 is equal to 3.5x more powerful than an h150 so do the math. Better coverage area. Like i said its a debateable subject.

We both listed GLH, THEN advancedLED, THEN Blackstar. I only cited the SG light where you cited the Kessil. Also, when I say personal preference I mean your setup. I am sure you, of all people, are aware of the high number of variables between, really, everyone's grow conditions. Some might prefer a different light for different grow condition. Hence : personal preference. So, we cited 3/4 of the same light...IN THE SAME ORDER....and you're going to argue with me over....well....nothing besides I called you out for acting like a dick. SO.....I dunno what else to say! Good day?!

Kessil presents H350 SPECTRAL HALO™ LED grow light, boasting 2.5x the light output of H150.

Copy and pasted from the Kessil Website. If you're going to cite statistics, make sure they're right.

I just bought two of the newest 500 watt Grow LED Hydro lights to go with my one 500watt older style. these panels are the bee's knees. You want dense nugs and minimum heat? these are the way to go, but the price is a bit much for some people.

oh gee i dont know maybe im a dick because newbs like you with 12 posts keep comn in here askin the same FUCKING questions over and over that we fuckin answer over and over and over again maybe read some of the 400+ page thread and do something instead of relying on other people to tell you whats right and then you get all technical and but hurt because i told u certain LED's are better than others. You really want to get specific? I havent seen any good results consistantly off of anything but blackstars kessils and spectras, and we all know the blackstars dont hold up yeild wise, they arent that far off on wattage and they yeild less than they should period and i own one and i LIKE IT TOO. Still doesnt mean it yeilds enough. I dont even know y i bother with this waste of time thread anymore viagro left a long time ago for a reason and he was the smartest person on this forum PERIOD when it came to light technology LED, Plasma, HPS or otherwise. People are just too damn lazy to go read whats right in front of their face instead they have to waste peoples time asking the same damn questions over again.

I haven't really asked 1 question. I asked for other peoples inputs, but no questions! I find the answers on my own, then I engage in an actual discussion. Plus I know how to conduct a sentence! Anyways, no, my problem wasn't that you told me an LED was better than another LED. My problem was because, when I went out of my way to say this is my opinion, and I'm NOT an expert, I STILL got a jackass like you come in all condescending "I know everything blah blah blah and you're wrong blah blah". We cited, 3/4 of the same lights in the same order..... You, very rudely, agreed with me. THAT was my problem. Maybe if you could engage in a proper conversation I would have 1 shred of respect for anything you say. But, its apparent what kind of person you are, and I don't. Thanks for showing me 1 veteran poster that I should completely ignore on this forum. Anyone else? Thanks for the warm welcome.........

And actually, the only reason I posted in this thread to begin with, was to answer a question to a new grower. This is what I get for trying to help.

Edit : Lastly, multimeters don't lie. The 2010 240 watt Blackstar pushes ~135w. The 2010 240 watt GLH light was ~245w. The 500w ratio was not much better. Multimeters simply just don't lie.

There is an edit button. Also, it's not a typewriter. If you mess up, you can press Backspace, and it deletes what you previously wrote. Its an amazing technology that saves tons of paper and ink!

i dont think your qualified to be answering any questions on this subject when your the one asking them. When did i say a multimeter lied blackstars actually use 120watts so your incorrect on the 135 number. You ask newb questions like what LED is better go read what you wrote you fuckin pud. ignored u and unsubscribed from this fuckin waste of time thread thats gone so far down hill its beyond reclamation.

I'm not qualified because I'm new to THIS forum? You don't know anything about me, or my experiences in life. And if you test 20 different Blackstar 240w lights you would probably get 20 different wattage readings. It's electronics.
