Vilifying a people because of what the governments do, or what the fundamentalists do is pretty narrow minded. The same can be said about our religious leaders and our government. Yes, many of our religious leaders are well balanced (sic) and sane. But there are those who are pretty damn far out there!! Sadly, they tend to be the most vocal and in the news.

I am not a Muslim, but I have many friends in Muslim countries (Morocco and Saudi) with whom I'd trust my and my children's life. Read up on Islam. It's like Christianity. They have their extremists just like anyone else. Thats not to say that the majority go along with it. Did the Moral Majority represent the actual majority here? To me, the Moral Majority was neither. But I'm sure that some Muslim over there would paint me with that brush because I'm an American.

BTW, just to clarify.....I condemn wholeheartedly the actions of any fundamentalist Islamic regime (or ANY regime for that matter) that supports terrorism in any form at home or abroad, the repression of it's peoples rights, and has a policy of genocide. I disagree that Islam and Christianity are similiar. I have read and studied both the New Testament and the Quran. There is nothing in the New Testament that teaches husbands how to beat their wives. The Quran does. The New Testament has no doctrines of hate. The Quran states to not make friends with Christians and Jews. The Quran states to strike terror into the hearts of the unbelievers. The Doctrines of Christianity and Islam are in no way similar.
