Obamas plan!

Senator Obama has been able to develop innovative approaches to challenge the status quo and get results. Americans are tired of divisive ideological politics, which is why Senator Obama has reached out to Republicans to find areas of common ground. He has tried to break partisan logjams and take on seemingly intractable problems. During his tenure in Washington and in the Illinois State Senate, Barack Obama has accumulated a record of bipartisan success.

Strengthening America Overseas

As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator Obama has fought to strengthen America's position in the world. Reaching across the aisle, Obama has tackled problems such as preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction and stopping the genocide in Darfur.

Plan to End the Iraq War

Before the war in Iraq ever started, Senator Obama said that it was wrong in its conception. In 2002, then Illinois State Senator Obama said Saddam Hussein posed no imminent threat to the United States and that invasion would lead to an occupation of undetermined length, at undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences. Since then, Senator Obama has laid out a plan on the way forward in Iraq that has largely been affirmed by the bipartisan Iraq Study Group led by James Baker and Lee Hamilton.
Cleaning Up Washington's Culture of Corruption

Throughout his political career, Barack Obama has been a leader in fighting for open and honest government. As a U.S. Senator, he has spearheaded the effort to clean up Washington in the wake of the Jack Abramoff scandal. In a politically charged election year, Obama acknowledged that corruption was a problem that plagued both political parties. He subsequently enlisted the help of Republican allies to limit lobbyist influence, shine sunlight into the earmarks process and promote open government.

Meeting America's Energy Needs

Senator Obama has been a leader in the Senate in pushing for a comprehensive national energy policy and has introduced a number of bills to get us closer to the goal of energy independence. By putting aside partisan battles, he has found common ground on CAFE, renewable fuels, and clean coal.

Honoring Our Veterans

As a member of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, Senator Obama is committed to helping the heroes who defend our nation today and the veterans who fought in years past. A grandson of a World War II veteran who went to college on the G.I. Bill, Senator Obama has reached out to Republicans and Democrats in order to honor our commitment to America's veterans.
Improving Our Schools

We are failing too many of our children in public schools. Right now, six million middle and high school students read at levels significantly below their grade level. Unfortunately, the debate in Washington has been narrowed: either we need to pour more money into the system, or we need to reform it with more tests and standards. Senator Obama has worked on bills that cut through this false choice and recognize that good schools will require both structural reform and resources.

Creating a Healthcare System that Works

The United States is one of the wealthiest nations in the world, yet more than 46 million Americans have no health insurance. Too many hard-working Americans cannot afford their medical bills, and health-related issues are the number one cause for personal bankruptcy. Promoting affordable, accessible, and high-quality health care is a priority for Senator Obama.

OK, so what's Obama's plan? The plan, Sam ... the plan. Oh, and don't forget next time to post HOW he plans to implement his plan. Everything in your post is nothing more than platitudes and no solutions, Med.

You forgot.......TAX and REGULATE.
You don't seem to realize that with Bush's spending on this war that who ever the next president is, be he or she, Democrat or Republican will have to raise taxes so high that it will make Clinton's Tax increase look like a drop in the bucket.
As far as Regulation, Look at Global Crossing, Enron and Adelphia to know the reason why we need regulation. Pull your head out of your ass, Vi, he's a lost cause and thinks he can take the money to the grave.

Same Deal Rich Guy Make 100million A Year He Will Pay Some Cpa's 25 Grand To Fudge Papers And Same A Million Buck (as If He Were Strapped For Cash)

Super Rich Guy Makes 20 Billion A Year And Pays So Much In Hushmoney And Political Interest Money That He Thinks He Deserves A Tax Break After His Paid Politician Opens Up Doors For Him To Make More Financially And Usually Fuck Over Either The Environment Or The Middle And Lower Class Workers Under Or Nearhis Company....

The Clinton's had the country once, it's time to move on to something more progressive. I just don't think that what they did in the 90's would work today.

The thing that bothers me, is people buy into this theory, that tax increases = more tax revenue. This is a fallacy, tax increases discourage spending, it it tax cuts, that increase or incourage spending, that in turn increases revenue to the federal goverment. That is simple economics. The truth is out there ,one just need\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s 2 look. Read some of DR. Walter Williams....economics major. If thats u\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'r cup of tea. I am a student of him myself. And the Global Crossing thang, Algore was one of the crooks that made millions at that deal, throw that stuff out there. Indie.

I have read Dr. Williams and his economics are flawed...

btw, what's with the \\\\\\\\\\\

I know that Al Gore made money from it.... I'm no fan of Gore.
Yes tax cuts encourage spending, but it puts very little into the coffers of the government.
I have been through all the administrations since Kennedy (born in 62') and have seen the cause and effect of many administrations, how many have you actually been through?
You were born when? 1980's..
I could throw out FACTS that would blow your mind.
Please next time post about something you actually know something about.
Believe it or not, until half way through Bush’s first term I was a hardcore conservative.
But my eyes were opened to their lack of a social conscience.

Now that's a very interesting comment. I've read Walter Williams' columns for years and have yet to find fault. I've found lots of humor, but always found his economic principles to be sound. I'd love it it you'd elaborate a bit Dank.

Go re-read it then Vi, what Williams is espousing has no barring on what is really happening in the rest of America.
Sure Stock holders are making money, while more people are out of work than the numbers say (that's because they only put out figures of new filings and not those who are still on benefits or those who's benefits have ran out.)
We are going farther and farther into debt as a country, Bush put in legislation for bankruptcy that was written by the Credit Card Companies and yet does not stop the predatory practices of those same companies.
I could go on all day, but I'll spare you.
Dr. Williams is extremely flawed.

All the women I have talked with say that will they support the idea of women being president they would never vote for Hillary. Still married to that lying sob that didn't have sex with that women. No pride, no shame, just want to be president, don't care how.

The figures that are put out are not what reality is.. Those figures aren't true. When I lived in California I had a friend who was a high up person in the Unemployment office and she is the one who told me that the figures bore no reflection on reality.
You can through all the links to all the rightwing economic sites you want, it doesn't make the figures true.
