What are your experiences with snowstorm ultra?

I picked some of this stuff up at the local hydro store today because I figured at $10 it sounded like a low risk/high reward type thing. I did a search of the site and found a few things here and there about it but more often than not it was people who hadn't used it but "a buddy" said it worked well or didn't work etc.

I'm really looking to hear from some of you guys that HAVE used it personally and what your experience was with it as well as results, method used, etc. I'll be using it in DWC and I'm still trying to decide whether to foliar feed it or just combine it with my nutes or both, I'm leaning toward a bit of both right now. I've never foliar fed before (I know a lot of people frown on foliar feeding for whatever reason) so that is the only thing that may stop me, I'm a creature of habit :-o

Any experiences good or bad would be greatly appreciated as I try to decide what to do with this stuff, if I use it I may do half and half and post the results:hump:

Am I barking up the wrong tree here? I think I'll just go look elsewhere on the net for help. Thanks anyway.

i have used snowstorm ultra be 4 but not sure about it did't see any difference and pruple maxx did not turn my plants purple

Thanks for the reply. I was a little skeptical of the purple maxx myself, I would be a little leery to put a color changing chemical in my res. Just seems unnatural as dumb as that sounds lol. Well, I guess this calls for a side by side comparison then when the time comes. What method/strength were you using if you recall?

Purple Maxx is not a color changing chemical. It's totally organic, and is derived from a river eel. It won't straight up turn any plant purple, but if the strain has a natural tendency to turn purple it will bring it out much more. The new Purple Maxx formula contains Snow Storm Ultra as well, and I would say it had a visible impact on my trichome production. It is hot stuff, you have to be gentle with it or you can fry everything in your room, most of Humboldt County's Own stuff is that way.

Ah, very cool thanks. All I'm really looking for is the trichome production. Half of my crop is Purple Kush and as tempting as the purple maxx may seem I'm not too interested, this is my first time around with the PK so I'd like to see what comes out color wise without any alterations. Good to hear you saw some increased trichome production with the snowstorm though, that's exactly what I was hoping to hear :-o

I saw increased trich's using Purple Maxx, which contains Snow Storm Ultra. I can't say which product it was that caused the trich production.

Fair enough. I guess ill be doing some testing soon. Did you put it in the res/soil or foliar feed?

With my feedings, but you also have to reduce your nutrient strength a ton when using it.

Alright cool, at is probably going to wind up being the route I take as well. I was reading about the other products they offer (Gravity, Bushmaster, etc.) and it was saying the same thing about reducing the nutes. I hadn't heard anyone mention that you had to do it with the snowstorm yet so thanks for the heads up.

I am using it currently but have only managed about a week of use thus far.

Right now I am using it at the rate of 1ml/gallon in the 4th week of flowering (from days 21 to 28 of flowering).

In the past I have used Gravity with good success. The research I have done on the net confirms other people have the same effects and that the labeling of these products is accurate. Gravity does make denser nugs, Bushmaster does keep internodes short, and Purplemaxx does bring out color. Following this logic I think you made a decent purchase if you're just going about this experimentally.

To maximize flowering potential I am utilizing a variety of products in combination. In addition to SSU I am using AN Bud Candy and Nirvana. In past grows these nutrients have proved to be worth their salt at increasing resin (about 40%, really insane). This time around I want more resin that bud! HAHA!

I'll stay tuned and try to remember to update this as things progress. My first trichomes are just now starting to appear on the sugar leaves so it will be a few weeks before I can say conclusively either way.

Also, I'm trying to meet the "burning" issue half way with the product. At full strength I hear you can cause some damage. Emerald Triangle actually recommends starting at a much lower level and increasing it gradually to find a Zen with the product. In response to the use of it I do 1/2 strength feedings every other feeding. This has resulted in happy plants.

Good luck in your own garden. I hear it works VERY well as a foliar spray (with a little mag-su, some fulvic acid, and a bit of Ivory).

Cool thanks for responding, stuff like this is what I was hoping to hear. So you're feeding half strength+SS every other time and the rest full strength+SS? Just trying to make sure I'm following you exactly. Right now I'm using regular old GH Flora (Micro and Bloom) with nothing else added, I was going to attempt to use it full strength but now I think I should reconsider that idea lol. I also heard good things about foliar feeding it too but the humidity gets bad around here and I would be devastated if they got moldy.

I've been skeptical and unsure of other additives (gravity, bud candy, etc) because I've got a pretty decent grow going on right now and I'm relatively inexperienced so I'm not sure how much I can push it before I screw up. With that said I'm trying to get as many trichomes as possible (like everyone else around here :weed: ) so I might have to try to Bud Candy and/or Nirvana sooner or later and see how it goes.

Yeah if you could stay tuned and let me and anyone else interested know how it goes that would be awesome. +rep
