Forgot to mention I added in 2 more CFL's in the box and added another fan that focuses more on the plant to strengthen the stem.
 
just leave them alone... they will grow outta the soil. they need more light, and some air. maybe add a high p low n-k value.
 
Yea, you could do that, Or you could prop them up, Thats what I do when that happens. Seems you lights are a little close, back them off till you get real leaves.
 
IMO that poor little girl has wayy too much light, shes barely rooted, , cfls give more light output on their sides where there is more surface area, find a way to turn the bulb(s) on their sides instead of the top and back them off a little, keep the humidity high (50-70%), or if possible spray them with some water every couple hours...let the poor lil guys root before u hit them with nutes or fans or excessive light, worry about all that stuff when they are atleast like 5 inches or so...thats just in my experience tho...
 
I didn't give it any nutes. I got 2 answers on the light situation. More light or less? I have 3 cfls on it now and they are about 2inches away from it.

CFLs are great for rooting plants , especially babies because they give off around 1600 lumens as opposed to 55000+ with a 400 hps or 38000+ 400 MH...the low light output and low heat help the baby plants acclimate to their surroundings...i had 4 clones i got from the store and i had like 6 CFLS on 2 plants that were give or take 3 inches tall...i kept the actual bulbs anywhere from 4-7 inches away and they loved it...i cant imagine a sprout being able to handle a bulb at 2 inches...they give very little heat BUT they do give off some,hold the bulb while on if u dont believe me... that millimeter thick stem can handle only so much, i mean....think about it...bottoim line, keep it like 5 inches away just for now, keep it humid, 24 hours a day light on, monitor the soil and i bet u they will root....ur gonna want a temperature rating (k) of 2700 kelvin for flowering and a kelvin rating of 5500-6500k for vegging.... basically the bluish/white bulbs are good for veg and the orange ish light output bulbs are for flower...
 
I kept mine under humidity dome till they were 1 week and a half the t5 were about 1 inch away from the top of the dome... I kept constant moisture... Therefore I wouldnt water as much... Ur stem looks too purple... Could be under watering.. In my opinion... Try to keep soil moist ... I water using spray bottles... Only till I transplant to bigger pots... Then I start watering with styrofoam cups... Keep constant airflow on urplants.... I belive a strong plant is all root development... Just dont let bulbs actually touch plants...

600 watt hps is the way to go... Very impressed with all my new growth

Thanks for all the advice. I moved them so close because I read in other threads where people are saying the plants are stretching to much and to move the lights closer. Thats why I did that.
 
i think your doing alright... purple stems are normal from what ive been told. everyone gave you sound advise and as long as the cfls arent burning your plant, keep em as close as you want.
 
The stem seems to be getting a little bit stronger from when it first was falling all the way over. But it still doesnt look like its standing strait up. I used a small stick to kinda prop it up. I also raised the lights and unscrewed a 26w cfl and replaced with a 20w cfl. So right now it just has 2 20w cfls running on it. I just got done watering and took these. Let me know what u think I should do.

Its looking a little better... It doesnt need the prop anymore but the leaves are leaning over pretty bad. I've been watering it more and it seems to help the stem but not sure if I'm over watering.

hey brotha, are u in a position where u or a friend of yours can just go to the dispensarty and buy a clone for like 10 bucks, the way i see it u have this tiny little plant, and u dont even know if its male or female yet...i dont know if this is a mediacal (legal) grow or if ur under 18 (i hope not) or what the deal is but it just doesnt seem very practical to me.,..ur trying so hard to get the little guy to grow, which i applaud u for , but u can take that same tenacity and put it towards a guarantted female clone which is already like 4 or 5 inches tall and then its already rooted nice and strong in rock wool or some other grow medium when u buy it....maybe u dont have access to a dispensary, ...in that case...turn that power strip ON ITS SIDE, run those plug in light sockets sideways, almost ALL of the lumen output from a CFL bulb comes from its side, NOT THE TOP...ill stay posted my man...also invest or use your head and make some type of reflector...your losing tons of light output by just running those bulbs as is like that...believe me, from experience
 
im not sure what design I could use if I turned the outlet sideways. here is a picture of the setup. it doesnt seem like i lose that much light since the top portion of the box is alot darker.

mine did the same thing at about 6 inch. high im not sure why they did that i just threw them out - when they seedlings you need to put them at least 4 inches away from the light until they get a lil bigger--a good way to prop them up is to cut a drinking straw about a cm long and slice it on one side and cup it around the bottom stem and force the bottom of the straw into the soil
 
(man i am REALLY helping u out now)lol ok heres what i did...pay close attention cause it worked out bomb....i got a turkey cooking aluminum pan from the 99cent store....then u go to home depot or a local hardware store and buy like 3 or 5 or 7 "Y" splitters...poke a small hole in the middle of the turkey cooking thingy...push the first y splitter through so the male socket end is protruding from what would be the bottom of the pan...then u hot glue gun it in place...then so on and so forth on the bottom, y splitter after y splitter, as long as they are screwed in the same and look symetrical the weight will be evenly distributed and it will sit level when hanging....haha why im helping u out so much, i dunno...maybe cause ur a fellow grower, i better get some +reps for this shit peeple,lol...its a super impractical method, it could reflect better but i know this particul method rooted 4 small clones until about 2 and half feet fast as fuck...try it out, it cost like 15 bucks total max, the good thing about this method is that all u have to do is swicth the bulbs from 6500k to 2700k when its time to bud and notice how all the lights sit at a 45 degree angle?..much better light output, definitely dont go with mystified bongs method, no offense buddy but that looks more unsafe than anything i seenView attachment 1535032View attachment 1535033IMG_20110405_191222.jpgView attachment 1535036View attachment 1535037

+rep. I will go get one of those pans from walmart and some y splits tmmr. This wont overload the one socket having all them going to one?

I think the issue with my seedling is over watering. I read a lot of posts with people with similar problems and I think thats the issue.

no, u wont overload on the one socket, u can have like 50 or 60 sumthing cfl bulbs on one 15 amp breaker plug socket from what i understand. they wont trip the breaker, they use super low wattage...have u tried cutting the bottom of a 2 liter coke bottle off and placing it on the soil over the plant to trap the humidity in?...just make sure to make a few air holes where the bulges on the bottom are so it can breathe
