the guy in my hydro store is beyond cool and will def, work with me.. i liked the guy right off the bat when he talked me out of buying a more expensive fan and said it was overkill for my needs and to save my $$ and buy the active air one for $3o less.. he had me for a customer after that..

and i really like what both of you said about keeping the box and the reciepts.. i have a really bad problem of tossing my crap.. i usually keep the box though, but with both you've usually got nothing to worry about..

Didn't read through this but just fyi, you need to let bulbs cool down. If your bulb was hot and then stopped working and you tried to restart again while hot it will not ignite. Most bulbs need 30 minutes to cool down before they can be restarted.

Hope someone answered your question and thank the lord for spare bulbs eh?

i ordered a shirt that i saw from a company i saw in ad in high times for called spark 420... they have a bunch of kool strain based artwork on tees, and they all come in these huge smelly proof bags.. i mean like huge.. you can imagine if a tee comes in them i'm sure.. but anyoo's, i have been putting all my beans inside of it with a bunch of silica packets, and i keep that inside of this hemp bag that i got from the attitude..
the thing with the raskal seeds was that they came in a cd case, and i never took them out of the case, and now i don't know what i did with it.. other than that, i've been trying to keep everything in the smelly proof bag, but i may still have one or two hidden around that i had before i got the smelly proof bag.. i think i've found everything sans the raskal..

Wasn't the problem. Problem was the bulb didn't start in the first place, it would WANT to, but wouldn't start. I tried a few times to see if I could get it going, but I could not. I then quickly installed the HPS to see if it would work, when it did I let it get to full brightness for a few minutes, then let it cool like 30 minutes while I cleaned the tempered glass, then started the HPS for good.



Going to hydro store tomorrow, you guys should wish me luck in my endeavors prey for my e-ballasts, as well as my bulbs longevity!

i just went online last night and ordered that diigilux bulb ... there was a really good article in high timies a few months ago on e ballasts that you should check out if you can find them sr verde... when i get a chance later i'll look for the for you.. its a good read..

I just got back with my hortilux blue mh. The thing had a sticker price of $120! Better be a good bulb! I payed 105 after the return.. picked up an extra pair of fiskars

nice.. thats the same bulb i picked up last night online.. i think i paid like $119 or so.. and i love fiskars.. i just took mine from work when i got laid off two weeks ago.. i must have atleast three or four pairs of them..
i just went to my local hydro store this morning looking for some ff of soil and a couple of odds and ends, but they had a sign on the door that their gonna be closed till i think it said march 3rd or so.. uggh.. atleast it wasn't an emergency visit, and i can live without the soil for a couple more days..

The hortilux BLUE MH is up and running.... not as bright as the HPS but hey, I'm loving the blue color... really is quite a difference! Hortilux for the win

yah, i think that 400 watter mh's put out quite a lot less lumens then hps's do.. but i think its the spectrum of them that make them much better for veg more so than the lumens..

Yeah exactly.

I'm aware of the lumen difference I think my MH is like 20,000ish, and the HPS is 32,000ish... like you said just the nature of the bulb, but the correct spectrum really helps.


This MH is definitely way bluer, I notice a lot more color/definiton in the plant leaves under this light... way nicer on the eyes compared to the bleached out effect of the HPS

idk if you had run your hps long enough to notice, but try and tell if you think that the mh runs alot hotter compared to the hps.. i was running a 250 watt setup and just got a 400 watter, and when i was running the mh, it really seemed to get way hot, than when i switched over to the hps, i noticed the temps dropped.. i was just wondering if i was imagining things, or if the mh's really do run that much hotter than hps..

glad to see you got it all straightened out though sr verde.. you'll be stoked when you see the difference over cfl's..

inline fans, these ratchets that bring the light up and down.. the racks on top

Not to mention the penetration of the HID's compared to CFLs... and the difference in how close they must be

It's all easy peasy...

They are already doing wayyyyyyyyyyyy better than my old CFL setup would have been doing.... right now we should see the effect of the 250w MH


Really dig the BLUE on this hortilux bulb...
