What Is the Average? (Grams Per Watt)

I use to get 0.73 per watt of light when I was growing horizontaly now I get more than a gram per watt of light growing verticaly. Good luck.

Again, no one is listening, If you get 400 gms in two months from a 400 watt light, that is only .5 gms per watt per month. I have achieved 1.2 gms per watt per month off one 400 watt water cooled HPS vertically hung without reflector inside the cannopy of 4 plants rotating on turntables. I've never seen anybody else do that and I've been around the sceen for decades.
2.4 grms per watt out of a 400w hps? so you telling me that you get 960 grms of dried buds every 2 months?

I just finished my very first grow (2000 watt Himalayan Gold) and I got 935g of bud and 42g of bubblehash, so almost 0.5g per watt, I messed up too quite a few times, so I am expecting to get 0.75g per watt PLUS next time.

and that took 3 months to do, so i have no fuckin clue what that comes out too in hienas math, maybe you can do it for me :P

But basically I want to know what your number of grams per watt is that you are getting so we can get a better understanding of the yeilds people are obtaining and what not.

I run 1000 watts, and I get no less than 850 grams.. This round will be higher since Im growing in bubblers.

The strain is my own, Glass Slipper :) But, not sure per watt.

always use good bulbs like sunmaster and replace them every 4 grows or so

this is key ot optimal yields

My best grow was my third grow...(I'm on my fifth now). I had 2 strains and 3 girls. 2x Easyryder from Lowryder seed company and 1x Afghan kush ryder from world of seeds. They were DWC in 3.25 gallon buckets with foxfarm nutes. They were grown in a 2ftx4ftx6.5ft grow tent with a 400 watt hps at 18 hours per day. Total grow time was 11.5 weeks from seed to chop. My final yield minus pre-smoke was 227 grams dry weight. My larger easyryder produced 150 grams dry... I chopped first half at 10 weeks and second half at 11.5 weeks. My small easyryder after pre-smoke was around 56 grams dry. The Afghan kush ryder which was very retarded only produced 21 grams dry. Overall G/Watt was .56. Overall G/kw was .32= FAIL!!! So i did good with over all weight for the light, but my efficiency was crap. This grow will be much better I have 2 nice 6 wk old bushes going under a 430 watt Agrosun, they were 5 wks when i flipped the lights. If i dont screw it up then I might get 9-10 oz. out of them... Strains are Vanilla kush by Barneys Farm and Power Kush by Dinafem.

.79 on a 1000 is best so far but im lookin at 30+ oz this time arouns id say... know for sure in about 12 days

.85-1, depending on what I'm running and a few other factors. That's with a month of veg under a 330w T5 fluorescent @ 18/6.

Edit: that's with a 1kw hortilux super hps, and a top notch environment.

Was able to get up to 1.9 GPW with one strain Fruity Chronic, Chronic X White Widow. Only way I could could that was by running 4 per Sq foot in ebb and flo and having 18-20 inch tall plants with LOTS of leaf removal during the first 3 weeks of 12/12. I was getting 30 grams per watt AVERAGE and there was 64 on a tray under 1000 watt bulbs which is 1900 grams or just over 4 lbs. Most other strains gave me 20-25 grams per plant max. I have since gone to two plants per SQ foot and 40 gram per plant average (larger plants) and that comes to 1.28 GPW which is good enough. I just got sick of such high numbers. Was too much work to keep all my trays full all the time. Still very little veg and the plants are not very big. Much easier. Plants are vegged mostly under T5s and a 600 watt bulb. Oh and no CO2 used just lots and lots of fresh air being pumped into room 1050 CFM and my room only needs about 500.

I only dump on silliness or stupidity, take your pick. I've said it before, there is no validity regarding this erroneous "measure". It is another forum paradigm (like flushing) that refuses to die.

I'll explain it to you reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeal slow.

1. No two light systems are the same,

2. No two gardens are the same,

3. No two plants are the same......

4. No one measures f.c. or PAR values at a constant distance from plant heights,

5. No one takes into consideration side lighting or reflecting panels. Panels alone can increase light up to 30%,

6. The plant material, grams, one grower measures is gonna be different from the other. It's all anecdotal evidence without any certification. The scales will be skewed from one to another..

Since you're drawn to hype and fallacy rather than facts...... I doubt if you're capable of understanding the variables thingie. Watts as it relates to production means nothing, only what a plant receives which is gonna be different with each hood, bald light, lamp source, temp change, watering, etc.

Having said that, it's OK to talk the talk as long as folks realize the anecdotal measurements are meaningless.

Yep, lots of variables but I average about .65 g/w and about 1.1 g/kwh based on that formula if its right lol. After a few grows now, I am looking to change my setup to increase efficiency. I veg for too long and end up spreading my harvests out over weeks letting the bottoms finish with popcorn buds. I would like to reduce my veg and harvest with greater frequency while maintaining the same or better overall yields with more quality buds. Through this forum I have learned sooooo much about SOG and some awesome methods for canopy control. Some very smart people on these forums with lots of experience. Some of the SOG methods people have used on this site are just SICK, they would work very well for commercial grows but that's not me. Oh how I would love to do that but.....

PS this thread is as old as fawk.

Wow, no wonder you can't seem to comprehend this simple benchmark that shows how much weight you can pull from a given space. you make it so much more complicated then it is. Here I'll dumb it down for YOU Benny Boy.

No shit every grow space is different. Otherwise what would be the point of having a benchmark. I can't beleive you can't wrap your mind/ego around this simple little fact. People use benchmarks like to to see how they compare and to see how they might improve their grow. Some people might not care about yield. People posting and reading threads like this care about yield very much which is the whole point if this. It is a TOOL for dialing in your individual grow. Some people **cough * UB * cough ** should in fact be using tools like this unless they dont care at all about yield. The only reason to dismiss a benchmark like this is because you feel you can bo longer improve on your greatness.

See if you have one guy who is getting .5 GPW under a 1000 watt HPS and another guy getting 1.5 GPW it should show even the most mule headed individuals there is room for improvement and to seek out how to improve their grow. Whether it is strain, lighting, air, nutes or what have you. How people can argue the whole gram per watt issue is mind boggling. I am taking a wild guess that the people who always argue this benchmark dont measure up very well hence their hostility towards the subject. If you dont like it dont read it and dont bother shitting in the thread. some people have such huge egos that get so easily damged they have to jump in to somehow justify or make themselves feel better about their own inadequecies.
