while youre answering that answer me this. im starting week 2 and have yet to have any run off, this isnt good is it, i dealt with an overwatering issue last week and let them dry out before watering but still, after almost a 2 liter per 3 gal bag no runoff, what gives?

Maybe just try more water, I hear you cant over water with the amount of water, but with the frequency. Well, actually you can with no drainage it sounds like your soil isn't very aerated, What kind of soil or mix are you using? And do you have small rocks, or perlite something like that in the bottom to help drain?
It seems like I drain at least 25% of a 2 liter out for a 3 gallon pot.
Like I said though, that was my first grow, I got so confused by all of the different regemins and plus everyones conditions are different.

i just got a 48"x48"x78" grow tent just set it up have a 200w clf for vegging and a 400w hps for flower, but i wanted to know whats the biggest i can go with this set up 1000?. and were can i get a 400w Cmh ballast that i dont have to put together or what brands work best with CMH

yes you can put a 1000 watt in there..Im still debating on wether i should get a 1000,600 or another 400 to go in my tent.
A 400 hps ballast is what you need for a cmh bulb..cmh bulbs work on hps ballast

I run a 1kW in my 5x5x7. It's awesome. I can only assume it would work out well in a 48x48x78..

I chose a 600 watt dim-able system for my 78" x 78" x 78" tent that does Metal and Sodium bulbs. I also have a 35 watt 6400k curly-cue small fluro light for seedlings and clones.

Sounds good.I want a bigger light or just add another one..1 400 is good but when i see th yields from a 600 or 1000 or even 2- 400 watts they look amazing.Plus i want to throw a multi spectrum in my flower room thats why im leaning towards two 400s

there are some nice set ups here, cant wait to get my tents im getting a DR80 with 2x200w cfls for veg and a bud box 100x100x200cm with a 600w for flower i already have the light and fans just need tents should be getting my veging one next week

I have allways thought about building my grow chambers but then i get stoned and think its just easyer to buy one, I like the idea of a project tho

Its always easier to buy but smarter and cheaper to build one..There is a great thread on a how to by poppa bear..He built a 8x8 flower room i think and it was no more than 50 bucks if that.

Hey guys, how many of you start out vegging with MH from the day they pop out? Alot people seem to be using floros for the first 2 weeks or so. I have a bunch of 5000k cfls from my last grow, but It would be a bitch to get those all wired and hung up in my new tent. Thats why I switched to HID, so I didnt have to fuck with those, and better bigger buds. What are your experiences out there with just vegging with the MH and no floros?

MH since day one.........they seem to be doin great..

hey i seedlinged one labella strawberry under just 2 13 w cfl bulbs, and one dirctly uner the mh. the cfl plant grew shorter, faster and bushier than the plant under the mh. the mh plant was stretchy and spindly, not bad mind you, but noticibly different from her sister.
they are both the same age, seeds germed ame time, everythiing same except the cfl bulbs.

So my tent has arrived which is a 4'x4'x7' and i'm putting a lumatek 400w HPS/Mh ballast with Cooled reflector & Hood w/ glass. I plan on introducing another 400w or seeing how things go with heat maybe bumping up to a 1k when cash flow permits .

A funny thing happened when i ordered the first tent (yes there are two)...

While putting it together (which was no simple task) I couldn't help but notice the poor craftsmanship of this tent (zippers falling off, Seams already ripped before putting them on the tent and seams that were just not sewn at all) so i called the store that i ordered it from and the guy said "ok well i'll just send you another one but would you mind a smaller tent"

LIGHTBULB!!!!! I can have a tent for my veg/flowering and a tent for clones, germination & seedlings...

The question i have is... what would be a good flouro tube to put in the smaller tent 3 1/4' x 3 1/4' x 6' for doing specifically that... maybe even it will house a mother one day in the future. I just want to get some ideas cause now i have two tents (after much repair of the first one that i got)
